[Ding!]

[Your inexplicable discovery of the main ingredient for the Dream Potion has slightly changed the plot.]

[Congratulations! A new quest has been activated.]

[Unique Destiny Quest: Fight for the destiny that is within your grasp.]

[Quest Content 2: Race against Kaelzor and snatch the opportunity from him before he can get it in his hands. Be careful and make proper preparations before trying to complete this quest.]

[Reward: ??]

[The quest will be completed after you snatch the opportunity from Kaelzor's hands.]

"Damn!"

Ian couldn't help but curse out loud as soon as he skimmed through the prompt.

"What? What happened?"

Ignysyl, who was busy being proud next to him, was stunned by his sudden words and asked, completely confused.

"Nothing... um... you did a good job this time. Why don't you go out and see if you can find something better? We are almost leaving this place, and you won't have a chance afterward."

Ian realized he had slipped his tongue. So, he hurriedly composed himself, and asked Ignysyl to leave tacitly.

"Tch... now you're getting completely greedy. How can there still be other treasures? Getting this Dreamshard was a stroke of luck already."

Ignysyl rolled his eyes at Ian, feeling that he was basically opening his lion's mouth. Getting a Dreamshard here as soon as they arrived was an absolute stroke of luck in his opinion.

How could he still find treasures here now?

But seeing that Ian seemed to have decided, he still changed into his Raven form and quickly disappeared from the tent, leaving behind a few words:

"Don't blame me if I can't find anything this time. Like I said, that was a stroke of luck and cannot be easily replicated."

Ignysyl now felt that he might have set the expectation bar too high by finding the Dreamshard this time.

So, he immediately left some words so that, in the event he failed, he could cling to them to save his pride.

This little dragon had begun to learn the ways of humans. Truly, it was interesting to see his reaction.

But Ian's mind wasn't on that, or rather, he didn't even look at Ignysyl's disappearing figure as he was busy with his thoughts.

'A stroke of luck, huh. Is that really the case?'

Ian thought bitterly while looking at the glaring snippet on the prompt screen in his mind.

[Your choice to involve yourself in the affair of the original villain, Kaelzor, has finally shown its effect.]

[Your destiny, Passerby Villain, is in conflict with the true villain of the original plot, Kaelzor.]

'So, is this the way of fate? No wonder I got this Dreamshard as soon as I arrived at the Calvora Continent.'

Ian thought while looking at the mesmerizing Elementum ore in his hand, which weighed almost nothing.

Cause and effect—although it sounded profound when the system first prompted him, Ian honestly hadn't paid much attention.

He thought that once he was strong enough, he would use the clue on the black ring he got by killing Dornar to get what Kaelzor was hunting for with ease.

But the sudden quest had really caught him off guard.

'And it's even a Unique Quest—Fight for the destiny that is within your grasp.'

This was the second time he had received a Unique Quest from the system after transmigrating into this world.

The first time was when he confronted Carl at the Imperial Academy to change his original fate.

'But why is it "fight for the destiny" when it only relates to Kaelzor, a villain?'

Ian was confused.

If it was about the protagonist, Carl, then it would make sense for destiny to be involved. But Kaelzor was a true villain in the Arcane Passage, not a lucky fellow in any way.

'But anyhow, so that déjà vu I was experiencing was from this Necromancer mask, huh.'

Ian didn't think much about it for now, as those things were still far off.

After all, he wasn't even a First Ring Wizard yet. How could he think of competing with someone at the Fourth Ring level?

Instead, he took out an eerie bone mask from the black ring he had hidden before and scanned it with his mental power once again.

[Necromancer Mask (Advanced Artifact - Damaged): A bone mask made from the grotesque death ritual of a dark wizard, a necromancer. It is slightly damaged, rendering its effect low. It seems to have a lingering aura of its owner from when he was alive.

Effect:

1) Aura of Fear: Exudes a deathly aura of fear on your enemy when wearing this mask. The effect is highly dependent on the wearer's mental power.

2) Sight Beyond Death: Once you wear this mask, you can see sights a normal mortal cannot see. While wearing it, seeing ghosts, spirits, or death energy is possible.

3) Mask of Deception: Can hide your identity from magical detection to a certain degree.]

'So all along, this mask was a clue?'

Ian thought while playing with the bone mask in his hands. Although it was an advanced artifact, since it was damaged and had an uncanny use, Ian had never used it before.

Moreover, since he had the Ethereal Form at his disposal, the uses of this mask were almost useless to him.

But now that he had obtained the Dreamshard from Ignysyl and the information from the system, he was finally beginning to understand its uses.

'Then this compass must also have some use.'

Ian then took out a compass that he had found along with this Necromancer Mask.

[Necrotic Compass (Uncommon): A magical compass imbued with complex dark runes. It can always point to the nearest graveyard or the presence of undead and death energy with no error.]

'A mask with the lingering aura of its owner and a compass that can always point to the nearest graveyard with no error. Huh, interesting.'

Ian suddenly smiled a little after figuring something out from his broken knowledge.

'Well, let's put this quest aside for now. I'm still too weak, and involving myself early in this mess does no good.'

After contemplating for a while, Ian finally hid the mask and compass once again and stuffed the Dreamshard into his pocket.

Fortunately, although the Elementum ore couldn't be stored inside the space ring, Ignysyl's ability seemed to be able to shrink it a lot. Otherwise, carrying it along would have been a chore.

"Boom!"

"What the hell are you doing, Yela? Have you gone nuts?"

Just as Ian was preparing to leave the tent and reconcile with Lyra and Aurora, a loud bang echoed around the entire base, causing even the ground to tremble.

Then came the extremely angry voice of Zane, followed by another bang that was no smaller than the previous one.

"What happened?"

Ian was completely bewildered by such a sudden change in the situation and quickly left the tent, meeting Lyra and Aurora, who came running directly toward him.

"Ian, are you alright? What happened?"

Lyra breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Ian, quickly came near him, and asked.

"I don't know."

Ian shook his head and turned toward the edge of the base, where he could see a mushroom cloud billowing into the sky, its fiery power illuminating the horizon in an eerie, unnatural glow.

"It seems Yela and that wizard are fighting."

Aurora spoke after seeing the silhouettes of two figures in the sky. Although she couldn't recognize them from such a far distance, she could still guess easily.

After all, who among their team was capable of causing such a loud ruckus in such a short time?

Fortunately, they were far enough and weren't affected by the battle. Otherwise, just from the shockwave alone, many apprentices would have been injured.

"Yeah, they are quite powerful. That guy Ron is really not good compared to them."

Just as Aurora finished speaking, Ignysyl suddenly appeared on Ian's shoulder, looking curiously at the fight ahead.

Like he said, that shockwave was twice as powerful in brute force as any of Ron's spells Ian had seen before. So, Ignysyl was indeed right.

"Yeah, it seems this place has some influence on the spells too."

Ian nodded and asked,

"By the way, why is Yela so furious? Wasn't she fine just now?"

Ian asked curiously when a loud shout directly answered his confusion.

"You thief! We clearly divided our spoils. Why will you snatch what is mine now that we are about to leave?"

Yela's loud shout, filled with extreme fury, was hearable even from afar, and Ian, of course, heard it quite clearly.

So, after hearing the reason for her anger, Ian couldn't help but turn his head unconsciously to look at the Raven on his shoulder that was excitedly watching the fight ahead.

And it seemed Ignysyl noticed Ian's gaze. He looked at Ian curious gaze innocently and said,

"Don't look at me like that. I didn't do anything at all. It is none of my problem."
