Pokemon: A New Path

Chapter 470: Cyclizar Mask First Appearance

Chapter 470: Cyclizar Mask First Appearance

Despite the chilling wind and relentless downpour, Steven Stone stood firm on the frozen battlefield, his silver hair slicked against his forehead. He clenched his fists, watching as his Metagross—battered but unyielding—floated in front of him.

For a moment, Steven hesitated. His partner had endured so much already.

"You… still want to fight?" he asked, his voice carrying both admiration and concern.

Metagross, its body dented and scorched from battle, nodded with determination.

Beside it, Skarmory flapped its metallic wings, letting out a resolute cry. It, too, was ready to stand by its trainer, no matter the odds.

Steven exhaled, his breath visible in the cold air. His heart pounded as he made his decision.

"Alright," he said, his voice steady. "I'll leave it to you."

With only these two Pokémon by his side, Steven had no other choice. The ocean below was vast, the battlefield unforgiving. His other Pokémon were unable to endure such an extreme environment.

And so, Metagross and Skarmory took off once more, charging fearlessly into battle against the two ancient titans.

From his place on the frozen sea, Steven watched their figures disappear into the storm.

He could feel it—the bond between a Pokémon and its trainer. Words were unnecessary. They understood each other's thoughts perfectly.

This time, Metagross would face Kyogre, while Skarmory would confront Groudon.

The battle raged on. Explosions thundered across the sea. Lightning crackled in the sky, torrential rain merged with tidal waves, and magma clashed against the rising earth.

This chaotic, cataclysmic scene was reflected in Steven's light blue eyes. For a fleeting moment, time seemed to slow down.

Then—BOOM!

Metagross was struck by Kyogre's Origin Pulse.

The devastating attack sent it hurtling back, its massive body slamming into the frozen sea with tremendous force.

The impact was so strong that Steven himself was knocked off balance. His vision blurred as he tumbled, landing harshly on the ice beside his fallen Pokémon.

As the dust and mist settled, something tumbled out of his pocket—his Rotom Phone, spinning across the ice.

A collective gasp rang out from those watching the battle unfold.

From Violet TV's live broadcast, the female reporter let out a cry, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Mr. Steven…!"

At that moment, across the Hoenn region and beyond, millions of people watched in silence.

The legendary Champion of Hoenn had fallen.

Someone in the chatroom of the live broadcast broke the silence.

"Steven… was already injured when he was shot down with Skarmory earlier."

Another viewer typed frantically:

"Wait—doesn't that mean… he's been forcing himself to fight this entire time?!"

More voices flooded in.

"Steven…"

"Please, hold on!"

"Someone, help him!"

Some people prayed for a miracle to happen, while others were cheering Steven.

"COME ON, MR. STEVEN!"

For a moment, Steven thought he was dreaming. As he lay on the frozen battlefield, his body battered and his vision blurred, he could barely register the voices calling out his name.

Somewhere, people were cheering for him. A faint warmth spread through his chest. With great effort, he forced his heavy eyelids open.

The first thing he saw was his Rotom Phone, its sleek, silver frame reflecting the dim light filtering through the storm clouds.

Then, a voice echoed in his mind.

"If Groudon and Kyogre ever awaken, and the Hoenn League cannot stop them, contact me. I might be able to help."

"Who am I? Just a rancher."

Steven's fingers twitched, reaching out toward the Rotom Phone. His breath came in shallow gasps, but his resolve burned brighter than ever.

With the last of his strength, he grasped the device and flicked the screen open, navigating to the forum.

He clicked on a single name.

[Daigo: If you're there, please respond.]

The reply came almost instantly—only two words.

But somehow, those two words felt like an anchor, grounding him amid the chaos.

[Gold King: I'm here.]

Steven swallowed, his fingers trembling as he typed:

[Daigo: Please… help the people of Hoenn!]

As soon as this message was sent, there was no immediate reply from the other end.

'That's right. After all, the other party is far away in the Paldea region. What's the point of agreeing to help? After all, it will take a long time to get from there to Hoenn.'

Steven exhaled slowly, his eyes shifting to the raging battlefield ahead.

Groudon's massive form loomed over the battlefield, the magma pulsing beneath its plated hide. Kyogre surged through the stormy ocean, its glowing markings pulsating with power.

And then—a shadow emerged from the depths.

Steven's breath caught in his throat. At first, he assumed it was Kyogre.

But Kyogre was already airborne, launching itself at Groudon with terrifying force.

'So what was that beneath the surface?'

The ocean darkened as a colossal shadow stretched across the entire battlefield.

The next second—something burst forth from the depths.

A massive form. Black wings. Blood-red stripes. A golden, armor-like structure. Piercing crimson eyes.

Steven's eyes widened in pure shock.

"That's…!"

A hush fell over the battlefield. Across the world, millions of viewers watched in stunned silence.

"The Internet celebrity, Giratina."

At the Weather Institute, an alarm blared as a researcher frantically analyzed the satellite feed.

Sweat dripped down his forehead as his fingers raced across the keyboard.

Then, he froze. Because he had just discovered something even more shocking. The researcher's panicked voice shattered the heavy silence in the Weather Institute.

"Look! There's a human on top of that Pokémon!"

The entire room fell into stunned silence as all eyes turned to the screen. The satellite image zoomed in rapidly, revealing a tall figure standing atop the massive, draconic Pokémon.

A man clad in a black and dark green mask stood steadfast against the raging storm, his long cloak billowing in the howling winds.

For a long moment, no one spoke.

Then, someone whispered, "Who is that?"

Another researcher muttered in disbelief, "Is he… Giratina's trainer?"

"Impossible!" someone gasped.

They had just witnessed the devastation Groudon and Kyogre had wrought. Even the mightiest trainers were struggling against these ancient titans.

And yet—this masked man had arrived atop another Legendary Pokémon?

The very idea was unfathomable.

The fierce clash between Groudon and Kyogre halted as both turned their attention toward the new arrival.

Giratina, hovered above them, its massive shadow casting an eerie gloom over the ocean's surface. The air crackled with energy as the three legendary titans sized each other up.

Kyogre's glowing markings pulsed like waves in a violent storm. Groudon's golden eyes blazed with molten fury.

For a long, tense moment, none of them moved.

Then, Giratina let out a low, amused growl.

"That's it?" it scoffed through telepathy.

On Giratina's back, Naoki exhaled, shaking his head.

"You were the one who wanted to join in the fight," he replied, exasperated.

He had only asked Giratina to open a portal to reach Hoenn faster. But the moment Giratina heard about a legendary battle, the dragon had bolted straight through the Distortion World, eager to join the chaos.

Giratina snorted in excitement, flexing its shadowy wings.

"Hmph! Leave this to me!"

A glint flashed in its crimson eyes. The air vibrated with a force that bent reality itself.

Then—a swarm of blazing meteorites materialized behind Giratina, descending like fiery comets.

Draco Meteor!

The massive stones rained down, colliding with both Groudon and Kyogre in devastating bursts of impact.

One meteor slammed into Groudon's head, sending the massive beast crashing into the earth with a resounding tremor.

Dazed, Groudon shook its head furiously, then roared in fury, unleashing a blinding beam of pure energy that obliterated the incoming meteors.

Kyogre, struck by another meteor, plunged into the ocean with a massive splash.

Naoki frowned.

'Was it defeated already?'

Then, with a deafening roar, Kyogre burst from the sea, soaring toward Giratina like a torpedo!

The markings on its body gleamed intensely, and countless beams of blue-white energy exploded toward Giratina.

Naoki acted instantly.

"Shadow Sneak—now!"

Giratina let out a deep, rumbling chuckle, then vanished in a blink.

The attacks passed through empty air.

"It disappeared?!" someone in the Weather Institute shouted.

Steven, still recovering on the ice, looked up at the scene with narrowed eyes.

"That trainer… could it be the Naoki?"

The battlefield was silent for a second. Then reality twisted once more.

A dark rift split open in the sky, and from within, Giratina emerged, its massive claws wreathed in an eerie violet glow. With a single swipe, it tore through space itself—striking Kyogre before it could react!

"Kyrrrg!"

Kyogre let out a pained cry, its colossal body spiraling backward before crashing into the sea once more. Giratina hovered smugly, its wings flickering with shadowy energy.

"Hah! That's the power of the most dominant legendary Pokémon!" it declared proudly.

However, just as it was feeling proud of itself, Naoki's voice suddenly rang out: "Watch out, behind you!"

Giratina blinked.

Behind them, Groudon had already begun its counterattack.

From beneath the ocean, massive stone pillars erupted at an alarming speed, racing straight toward Giratina.
