Chapter 802 - The Rewards

"Let's start the meeting.", declared Prince Kymar, the mayor of the city.

Trunda, the secretary of Prince Kymar came up to say the report of the tide battle.

"First of all, I must say that we have done a good job in defending our place. None of the citizens were hurt during this tide battle as the zone commanders had done a very good job in this.

Coming to the soldiers that participated in this battle, on the east side, the death rate was 34.5%, on the west side, the death rate was 30.05%, on the south side the death rate was 25.76%, and finally in the north side, the death rate was only 0.01%. The north side had only 5 casualties in this entire tide battle. I also want to inform you that the north side under the leadership of Mr. Axel Blaze has set up a record.

Regarding the rewards and resources that will be given to each of the sides and their commanders or personal teams, a report will be given at a later date.

But as Prince Kymar believes in giving the rewards who deserves them the most, the side which suffered the lowest percentage of deaths will receive more rewards and the side that suffered the highest percentage of deaths will receive the lowest rewards....."

Trunda went on to say what each side had faced and how many king-rank Pokemons they faced.

"I also want to tell you that 2 king-rank Pokemons fled the tide battle and didn't return. Actually, make it three. The first one was a tier 3 king rank Scyther, the second one was a tier 3 king rank Snorlax and we were not able to identify the species of the 3rd tier 3 king rank Pokemon cause it never showed up for the battle.

Regarding Scyther, I am positive that it would not attack the city again. For Snorlax, it will be resting for at least a year or 2 cause it is seriously injured but for the unknown king-rank Pokemon, I cannot say anything.", added Axel.

The meeting went on and the leaders of the east and the west side were questioned severally by the prince cause they had lost a good chunk of soldiers.

"Prince Kymar, we had made a bet before the start of this tide battle. Should we discuss it right here or somewhere private?", asked Axel.

"We will discuss it here today. I must say, Mr. Axel, you have done a tremendous job. I never thought that you would only lose 5 soldiers in the tide battle. You have my thanks. You have become one of the prime topics for my public speech after 2 days and I can calm my citizens with your result.

Now, coming to the rewards..."

Prince Kymar looked at Trunda and asked, "Tell me what rewards I promised Mr. Axel."

"Sir, both of you made a bet that with every decrease of 5% death rate from 25%, you will give him one Pokemon egg and 10 billion Poke dollars. If the death rate reaches 5% or below, you will also give him 5 eggs of pseudo-legendary Pokemon and one egg of legendary Pokemon.

Finally, if the death rate is zero, then Mr. Axel will be entitled to protect all the islands, towns, villages, cities, and lands that you have ownership in and he will also get more than a normal reward for this."

Prince Kymar looked at Axel while playing with his beard and said, "Hmm, those are some juicy rewards but as I said, I will give the rewards to those that deserve and you Mr. Axel surely deserved it.

As per our agreement, you will be getting 4 Pokemon eggs except for those pseudo-legendary and legendary eggs and 40 billion Poke dollars. But since you only lost 5 soldiers, I am gracious enough to let those rewards be 5 Pokemon eggs of your choosing and 50 billion Poke dollars.

Since there have been deaths within your care, you will not be getting anything from the last reward but I feel bad for doing this. I am a man of my word, so I cannot give you the last reward but since you have done such a good job, please do ask me if I can help you with anything."

When Prince Kymar started his speech, Axel felt that he would be shameless and he would not be getting any rewards but he was clearly wrong about this.

"Sir, instead of those 5 Pokemon eggs, I request you to give me 100 Pokemon eggs of the same species each.", said Axel. He wasted no words in saying this.

"Mr. Axel, that is absurd!!", shouted Trunda.

"Miss. Trunda. Please let me complete my request. I will not be asking for a rare Pokemon species but a common Pokemon species. For asking this, I am willing to only receive 8 billion Poke dollars, instead of 10 billion Poke dollars."

"Mr. Axel, I have said already that I will not be backing on my words. So, you don't have to decrease the monetary reward. Please tell me the species of the Pokemons that you want."

"The first will be Skiddo's egg. After that, I will require Mareanie's egg. Then Rookidee's egg, Meditite's egg, and finally Larvesta's egg."

Trunda visibly gasped after hearing Axel's demand but Prince Kymar was just smiling.

"Ok, deal.", said Kymar. Trunda wanted to oppose but in front of Kymar, she could not do anything.

Even though these Pokemons were not super rare, they were incredibly expensive. Except for meditite's egg which was common, all the others were kind of rare. Specially Larvesta's egg. Larvesta was a rare Pokemon. But Axel had carefully selected these Pokemons after a lot of thought.

Skiddo was the pre-evolution form of Gogoat. This was purchased purely for commercial purposes. The most common occupation of people where they were planning to set up the day care was agriculture.

Gogoat could be very useful to these people. It could use moves like 'Frenzy plant' and 'Grassy terrain' which will help the crop grow and also use moves like 'Rain dance' for the betterment of crops. Its milk could also be sold for money. Finally, it could act as a healer in the group for tide battles.

Toxapex was chosen cause it was a pure tank. It could take damage and it could also deal a lot of passive damage through poisons. It had around 8 resistances too.

Corviknight was specially chosen cause Axel needed a good team of flying-type Pokemons to deal with flying-type Pokemon in the tide battle. He had realized this time that he needed a good team that could do it. Of course, he also had a thunder team but that was not enough. A good flying type Pokemon would help him tank those flying damages and Corviknight was perfect for that. It not only had 8 resistances but 2 immunities. It was only weak to electric-type attacks.

Medicham was for pure physical attack and Volcarona was for special type attack.

So, the team would consist of a healer, a tanker, a flying-type damage dealer, a special attacker, and a physical attacker.

Axel knew that he needed to have a good special attacker team cause the tide battles would be safer that way. So, he didn't want to compromise on it. That was why he chose Volcarona.

He was thinking that the prince might try to compromise on this but on the contrary, he didn't. He agreed readily.

Of course, only 100 eggs of each Pokemon were not going to satisfy such a large crowd. But even asking for those 100 eggs was a lot cause those were not in the bet. He was going to hatch those eggs, properly train in day care and lay eggs of them, and then slowly make a team of them.

That was why he asked for 75 female eggs and 25 male eggs each. That was needed for a good operation of a daycare. Prince Kymar didn't have any problem with this.

Everyone could remotely say why Axel was asking for such a thing but none of them voiced it out. Axel and his team deserved such a reward and this was a good boost for him and his team.

"Now that we have sorted out those eggs, what about those 5 pseudo-legendary eggs? What species?", asked Kymar.

"Garchomp, Metagross, Hydreigon, Dragapult, and Dragonite's egg.", said Axel with confidence.

All of these eggs were for the commanders. Garchomp was for Sam, Metagross was for Dorton, Hydreigon was for Kane, Dragapult was for Alon and Dragonite was for Hector.

Jin already had a pseudo-legendary Pokemon and Krishna already had a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon. Mia was very powerful and having a pseudo-legendary Pokemon would have boosted her power by a lot but she was a new commander.

Axel wanted them to know that loyalty and time would make a difference in how much they would rewarded. So, as much as Axel wanted to give a pseudo-legendary Pokemon to Mia, he knew that it would not be appropriate.

"That can be done. Now, finally for the legendary Pokemon egg. Which one do you want? I must tell you that I may not be able to get you any egg that you want. Even though I am a prince, my reach is not as far as my father's. If the species that you want could not be fulfilled by me, then you might have to choose another."

Legendary Pokemon's egg was very hard to get. One cannot just snatch the eggs from them. They were very powerful and they normally lived in a tribe. So, if a trainer wants an egg from them, then they would have to fulfill multiple conditions to get them.

"I want a Kubfu's egg.", said Axel with a smile.

Everyone's head turned towards Axel when the prince asked this question. Not everyone could have a legendary Pokemon. A legendary Pokemon first tested the trainer if the trainer would be able to protect their child and it was not very easy to pass.

Even with that, it was very rare to have a legendary Pokemon. None of the trainers in this meeting had a legendary Pokemon. So, all of them were curious and jealous of Axel's fate to have one.

"That is doable. But I cannot just hand it to you right now. I know their tribe and I will ask if they can give me their child for you. But first, you will have to know something.

They will not give their eggs but their child after the child is with them for 4-5 months. And finally, they will test you and if you fail the test, you will not be getting Kubfu."

"I have no problem with that.", replied Axel.

"Then it is settled. Trunda, do we have any other agenda?", asked the prince.

There were some minor agendas and it was completed after 40 minutes. The meeting ended shortly after that.

"Axel, you can wait for some time. I have something to discuss with you.", said Prince Kymar raising the heads of everyone present but none of them asked the reason for it.

All of them left the meeting hall and only Axel and his team were with Trunda and Kymar.

"Sir, do you want to ask something?", asked Axel in the politest manner possible. The man standing next to him was a prince after all.

"Yes, first of all, I want to ask when you want those legs. I can get you the eggs of normal and pseudo-legendary rank with no problem. Also, if you want to tell me, why do you want so many eggs?"
