Chapter 321: Steelix
Chapter 321: Steelix
As Rock Smash was about to strike Dragonite, a green protective shield enveloped it. The next moment, Dragonite, along with its shield, was slammed into the ground by Probopass's attack.
Instantly, massive rocks surged upward from the ground. Some collided mid-air, shattering into countless fragments that scattered like bullets, pelting the protective shield.
Bang!
Probopass landed heavily on the ground.
Dragonite slowly rose from the debris, unscathed thanks to Protect that had absorbed the impact of Rock Smash.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The Mini-Noses recharged, detaching themselves from Probopass once more.
The Mini-Noses were experts at interference, and in a closely matched battle like this, constant disruptions from one side could exponentially increase the other's chances of losing.
"Dragonite, Heat Wave!"
Julian's eyes glimmered as he suddenly realized a possibility.
Scarlet waves of heat radiated from between Dragonite's wings, causing the temperature around them to rise rapidly. The Mini-Noses flew straight into the Heat Wave.
At first, nothing seemed unusual, but after advancing about fifty meters, the three Mini-Noses began to wobble. In the next instant, they plummeted to the ground.
"Pass!"
Probopass was stunned. It had just recharged the Mini-Noses—why had they suddenly lost their magnetic charge?
The same confusion appeared in the eyes of Ethan.
"Uncle, what's going on? Did that guy use some dirty trick?"
Frank looked at his nephew and sighed, "High-temperature causes demagnetization. Don't you know even basic physics?"
High-temperature demagnetization—Julian himself had only just remembered it. If he had thought of it earlier, he wouldn't have been forced into such a passive situation by the three Mini-Noses.
Without its Mini-Noses, Probopass was like a fighter with its hands tied. It understood this too, unleashing a powerful magnetic force as it flew toward the fallen Mini-Noses.
But Dragonite wasn't about to let that happen. It had worked hard to neutralize the Mini-Noses, and there was no way it would let Probopass reattach them without a fight.
Dragonite activated Superpower, its entire body surging with strength. Its arm muscles bulged as it swung both arms down toward Probopass with a thunderous roar.
"Protect!" Fred shouted hastily.@@novelbin@@
A green protective barrier materialized in front of Probopass, just as Dragonite's arms smashed down.
A deafening boom echoed across the battlefield, as white shockwaves spread outward like a hurricane. The ruined ground was engulfed in a massive dust cloud, and countless rocks shot out in every direction.
Even though the protective barrier absorbed most of the impact, the noise still made the spectators' ears ring. Ethan and his group winced, covering their ears as the reverberations shook the stadium.
A thick cloud of dust enveloped the battlefield, obscuring the outcome of the clash between the two Pokémon.
Gulp.
Ethan swallowed nervously. "Uncle, Grandpa will win, right?"
At this moment, the confidence he once had was visibly shaken.
Frank didn't respond. He wasn't sure of the result either.
After four or five minutes, the dust began to settle, slowly revealing the battlefield. Amid the hazy remnants of the chaos, a figure stood tall in the center.
It was Dragonite.
Due to Dragonite's size, they couldn't immediately see Probopass, which was either obscured behind it or had already fallen.
Moments later, Dragonite reached down and lifted an unconscious Probopass from the rubble. The outcome was clear to everyone.
"Probopass actually lost!!"
Ethan stared in disbelief. This Probopass was one of his grandfather's two ace Pokémon, yet it had been defeated—and by someone a few years younger than him.
Fred's expression turned distant as he recalled Probopass, quickly putting it back into its Poké Ball.
It was just one loss; it didn't mean anything definitive.
Julian also recalled Dragonite.
Dragonite had emerged victorious, but it wasn't unscathed. It had consumed a significant amount of energy and sustained considerable injuries.
Winning as an early-stage Elite Pokémon against a peak Elite-level opponent was no small feat. Dragonite had done exceptionally well.
Since the battlefield was in ruins, a new arena was quickly set up. With the terrain reset, the match resumed.
Julian and Fred threw out their next Poké Balls almost simultaneously.

Julian sent out his peak pseudo-Elite-level Steelix, whose towering, 13-meter frame gleamed with a metallic silver sheen. At first glance, it looked impossibly sturdy.
Usually, Steelix had a goofy demeanor and was known for its voracious appetite. However, once a battle began, its personality shifted dramatically.
Steelix knew full well that its accomplishments were a direct result of its diligent training—and, more importantly, the delicious food its wise and generous Trainer provided every day.
Its sole purpose was clear: defeat any opponent standing in its Trainer's way.
A surge of fighting spirit radiated from Steelix.
Steelix: 'Take it down, then get a good meal'
Even Julian was surprised by how fired up Steelix seemed today, but he welcomed it. This level of determination would only work in their favor.
Fred's choice, on the other hand, was Lunatone.

Lunatone was one of the least understood Pokémon, with even its origins shrouded in mystery. Its rarity surpassed even that of pseudo-legendaries.
The first Lunatone was discovered over a century ago near the site of a meteor crash.
Since then, Lunatones had occasionally been spotted around other meteor impact sites.
Some Pokémon researchers theorized that Lunatone might be extraterrestrial in origin.
However, traces of Lunatones had also been found in certain secret realms, often alongside Solrock.
Both Lunatone and Solrock were mysterious Pokémon with unknown origins. They shared another enigma: as genderless Pokémon, no one had figured out how they reproduced or continued their species.
