Chapter 378: 1 Vs 7

Chapter 378: 1 Vs 7

"Everyone, I suggest that we take action together and eliminate Julian first. This way, we all get a share. Even if Champion John comes after us later, as long as we stand united, he’ll have to think twice before making a move."

'Damn it.'

When Julian heard those words, he almost lost control and wanted to kill that bas***d on the spot.

'Is this guy even human?!'

The man was at least in his forties, yet he was suggesting ganging up on a kid not even twenty. Where was his shame?

But from another perspective, his plan was indeed pretty good.

Everyone here was wary of Julian’s identity, and with a peak Elite Alakazam guarding him, outright killing him was nearly impossible, but if they couldn't kill him…

Then what?

If someone injured Julian, there was a high chance that once they left the secret realm, John would personally come knocking for revenge.

Yet even if they didn't attack him, Julian himself wouldn’t hesitate to attack them.

Unless they were willing to give up on the Poison-type treasure, they'd have to fight Julian—just like he was planning to fight them.

And so, here lay the dilemma, they couldn’t kill Julian, and if they injured him, his grandfather would hunt them down.

Originally, they hoped someone else would take care of Julian for them, but everyone was thinking the exact same thing.

So who would strike first?

That’s why the suggestion was so tempting.

If no one wanted to do it, then they might as well do it together.

It wasn’t like they lacked family backing or allies, even though John Walker was a Champion, he couldn’t just ignore the forces behind each of them.

Taking action against one or two might have been possible, but there were eight of them, plus their allies', if they all came together as a single force, even a Champion like John would think twice before moving against them.

Besides, they weren’t planning to kill Julian—just eliminate him from the competition.

At worst, he’d suffer some injuries—but nothing fatal.

Not only did they lack the guts to kill him, but even if they had the guts, it would be impossible with Alakazam there.

A peak Elite Alakazam could Teleport Julian away instantly.

Without prior arrangements, stopping a Pokémon from using Teleport was nearly impossible.

Looking at the obviously excited eyes of the eight trainers around him, Julian shouted to the side: "Freddie hurry up and come here"

'So you all want to team up, huh? But I'm not alone either.'

Freddie walked over with a bitter expression on his face. He now regretted teaming up with Julian. He never expected the situation to get this troublesome.

'A 2v8?! Are you kidding me?!'

"Julian, maybe… we should just leave?" Freddie suggested hesitantly.

These people didn’t dare kill Julian, but they weren’t afraid to kill him.

Julian could tell what Freddie was worried about and spoke calmly, “You just need to stop one of them.”

That meant he’d handle the remaining seven alone.

“Are you sure?”

Freddie felt that Julian had lost his mind, he was talking about taking on seven Elite trainers by himself.

“I'm sure.”

Julian nodded.

Freddie stared at him for a while, trying to see if he really wanted to do this, in the end, he took a deep breath.

“Alright, I’ll go crazy with you this time, but just so we're clear—if things get dangerous, I’m out.”

The first half of his sentence sounded very bold, but the second half became a bit timid.

Julian nodded again.

Freddie glanced around, then pointed at one of the trainers.

“We’re about the same strength, how about we have a match over there?”

The trainer he pointed at didn’t seem angry—instead, he looked relieved.

If he fought Freddie, he wouldn’t have to fight Julian directly, all he had to do was stall for time until the others eliminated Julian.

So without hesitation, the trainer followed Freddie and left.

Now it was 1 versus 7, but Julian was still under a lot of pressure.

“Let’s change the place too, we don’t want to ruin the Poison-type treasure.” Julian said.

With that, he went in the opposite direction of Freddie, making sure their battle wouldn’t damage the treasure about to emerge.

The seven trainers looked at each other, and each of them sent out a Pokémon to guard the swamp.

They were very clear that there must be other people hidden around.

If they focused on eliminating Julian and someone else stole the treasure, they’d probably be so pissed that they might cough up blood.

At that point, they would have offended Julian for nothing.

When he found a relatively wide place, Julian looked up as the seven trainers landed one after another.

"Metagross, Dragonite, Aggron, Lucario, Melmetal, Steelix, Arcanine."

His main Pokémon team was released.

In fact, Julian could use ten Mewtwo fragments to summon Mewtwo. Even though it would only last five minutes, that would be more than enough to kill them hundreds of times over.

But he didn’t do it because he wanted give this a try.

Wasn’t it exciting? Taking on seven Elite trainers alone.

With one Pokémon at the early-stage of Elite, and the rest at pseudo-Elite peak.

“Come on, eliminate me… if you have the ability,” Julian looked at the seven people contemptuously.

"Meta!"

"Luca!"

"Arc!"

Julian’s Pokémon stared down their opponents. They had never known fear since the day they were born.

Seeing Julian and his Pokémon burning with fighting spirit, the seven trainers were silent for a moment.

It had to be said that Julian's courage impressed them all.

The seven trainers sent out their Pokémon.

Boom!

Boom!

One flash after another lit up the battlefield, and a total of twenty Elite Pokémon appeared.

Some of the trainers had sent out all of their Elite Pokémon, while others were definitely keeping some in reserve.

For example, the trainer at peak Elite level had only sent out two mid-Elite Pokémon—his strongest one was still hidden.

Each trainer also had a guardian Pokémon beside them.

After all, this was an Elite-level melee, without a guardian Pokémon, they’d get wiped out by the battle’s shockwaves alone.

However, most of them had peak pseudo-Elites as their guards, unlike Julian, who had Alakazam, a peak Elite Pokémon, standing guard.

Now, standing against twenty Elite Pokémon, Julian’s expression turned serious, even for him, the pressure was immense.

“Metagross, Aggron—Mega Evolve!”

This was not the time to hold back, so he directly performed double Mega Evolution.

A burst of rainbow-colored light flashed across the battlefield, and Mega Metagross and Mega Aggron appeared.

Both Pokémon had temporarily broken through from pseudo-Elite peak to the Elite-tier.

“Roar!!”

Mega Aggron took a step forward, its sheer weight causing the ground to shake.

“Charizard.”

“Blastoise.”

“Crobat.”

“Venusaur.”

“Starmie.”

“Dewgong.”

It was worth mentioning that they were a balanced mix, among the seven trainers, two were Grass-types, two were Water-types, one was Electric-type, one was Fire-type, and one was Poison-type.

“Arf!”

Arcanine: "I’m going to bite you to death."
