Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 391: Celebi

Julian went to the hospital's convenience store and bought two bottles of water along with some food, intending to bring them to Nicole and her mother.

Celebi: "Chicken drumsticks, fried chicken drumsticks—I want fried chicken drumsticks!"

The Poké Ball attached to his waist shook lightly. Clearly, this little troublemaker had spotted the fried chicken drumsticks sitting on the counter.

A hurried voice echoed in Julian’s mind through telepathy.

"Be patient, we’ll eat when we get back to the hotel tonight," Julian reassured.

He was in a hospital, surrounded by surveillance cameras—there was no way he could release Celebi here.

But Celebi, being the stubborn brat it was, wasn’t willing to wait. Fried chicken drumsticks were not something to be put off until later.

Celebi: "No, I want to eat them now!"

The Poké Ball shook even more violently.

"Cut it out! Do you even realize where we are?" Julian sighed helplessly. "I’ll buy them now, and tonight at the hotel, I’ll throw in a side of fries, how about that?"

Fried chicken drumsticks plus fries—Celebi thought about it for a moment and quickly agreed.

Under its persistent demands, Julian ended up buying six fried chicken drumsticks.

With all that oil and fat, it was a good thing Celebi wasn’t an ordinary Pokémon, or its body would have given out long ago.

Discreetly, he stored the drumsticks in his system space.

While taking the elevator, Julian suddenly asked Celebi, "If a human is poisoned with a lethal toxin, do you have a way to cure them?"

Celebi: "You mean that human from the hospital room just now?"

If a Poké Ball wasn’t fully locked, Pokémon could still sense the outside world, so Celebi knew exactly what Julian was talking about.

"Yeah, do you have a way to cure him?"

Celebi: "If I do, I get to play in the top lane from now on."

Judging by its words, it seemed like Celebi did have a way.

But—

"Not a chance. The top lane is too dangerous for you. You can’t handle it."

Celebi: "Then I won’t help."

After a moment of silence, Julian said, "I’ll throw in a family bucket meal."

Celebi extended its hand: "Make it five."

Julian stared at its tiny hand and deadpanned, "But you only have three fingers."

Celebi: (艹皿艹)

"Deal," Julian said before Celebi could throw a fit.

When he returned to the floor where Duke was, Nicole and her mother were already sitting on a bench in the hallway. Julian handed them the water and food.

Nicole took them in a daze, her expression sad.

"Don’t worry, everything will be fine," Julian said before he could stop himself.

He wasn’t just offering empty comfort—whether Celebi helped or not, he had a way to cure Duke.

Nicole nodded without saying much, but her mother gave a gentle smile and said, "Nico, this must be Julian, right?"

However, Nicole didn’t respond.

"Yes, Auntie, I’m Julian," he said.

"I’ve heard about you from my father-in-law and Nico. Thank you for looking after her at university. She lost her father ten years ago. If she ever has a bit of a temper, I hope you can be patient with her."

Julian hadn’t expected that Nicole had lost her father at such a young age. No wonder he had never appeared until now.

She wasn’t someone who talked much, and every time she came to him, it was always about studying his Pokémon. She had never mentioned anything about her family.

Of course, Julian had never asked either. He only knew that her grandfather was the strongest champion of Drakoria.

Otherwise, he would have kicked her out long ago. Why would he let her study his Pokémon?

Time ticked by, and soon, two hours had passed.

Only one hour remained of the three-hour window that Brad had mentioned.

The mother and daughter’s expressions grew heavier.

And John and Brad still hadn’t returned.

Finally, after another half hour, the two of them arrived, one after the other.

Nicole and her mother immediately stood up from their seats, looking at them expectantly.

John: "I retrieved three Revival Herbs from the Treasury."

Revival Herbs had miraculous healing effects for both Pokémon and humans when it came to injuries.

"Why didn’t you bring more?" Nicole couldn’t help asking.

Brad, standing beside them, explained, "Duke’s body is already at its limit, three Revival Herbs are the most he can take."

"Besides, Revival Herbs don’t cure poison. They can only prolong his life."

"I’ve consulted with several Poison-type experts, the toxins in his body are extremely complex. It’s impossible to analyze them in a short time."

"We can only hope the Revival Herbs can buy us five more days."

Even as he said that, Brad didn’t hold much hope. Even if they did manage to detoxify Duke, the damage had already been done. His body had been completely ravaged by the poison.

Even if the poison was removed, he wouldn’t have long to live.

Still, hearing that the Revival Herbs could keep him stable for five more days, Nicole and her mother breathed a sigh of relief. In their eyes, as long as there was a chance, there was still hope.

John handed the Revival Herbs to Brad, instructing him to administer them to Duke.

But at this moment, Julian spoke up.

"Actually, I can detoxify him."

Since he had already decided to step in, there was no point in delaying any longer. Who knew what might happen if he waited?

As soon as he said that, he noticed the others staring at him with strange expressions.

"Ahem, I’m serious."

"It’s not me who will heal him."

With that, he released Celebi from its Poké Ball, making his words much more believable.

Because of eating too much junk food, Celebi had turned into "Cele-Pig." Fortunately, it hadn’t gotten so fat that it was unrecognizable, so everyone present immediately recognized the little green Pokémon at first glance—before their expressions froze in shock.

“Celebi!!”

Brad cried out in surprise, but in the next second, his voice lowered as he muttered, “Why does it have a belly?”

Julian shot Celebi a glare. 'Shameless thing! I told you to eat less, and now look at you—embarrassing yourself in front of an Elite!'

Celebi floated toward Brad, the latter thought Celebi was coming over to get close to him and was just about to reach out his hand—only to be punched square in the eye.

Celebi: "That’s what you get for calling me fat."

One punch wasn’t enough to satisfy Celebi. It raised its tiny fist again, ready to land another hit, but Julian quickly stopped it.

“Alright, alright. Go heal Champion Duke first. Once you’re done, you can punch him again.”

Brad: 'Do you even hear yourself?'

Brad clutched his eye but wasn’t angry at all. In fact, he was still staring at Celebi with curiosity—even looking a little pleased.

How many people in the entire world could say they’d been punched by a Mythical Pokémon like Celebi?

Once Celebi flew into the hospital room, John finally processed what had just happened. He clapped Julian on the shoulder and laughed heartily.

“Haha! That’s my dear grandson! You have the makings of a Champion—even a Celebi follows you!”

Julian: 'Grandpa, please don’t raise a flag, I’d like to live past Chapter 400.'

“I didn’t capture it, it’s just here to freeload,” Julian said plainly.

Although he already considered Celebi as a companion, their bond was different from the one he shared with Metagross, Dragonite, and the others.

If Celebi ever wanted to leave, it was free to do so anytime, and Julian would not stop it.
