Chapter 227: Chapter 219: Zhan Qipei, Let Me Go
She grasped that her strength was much less than usual.
Qiao Jing didn’t waste words with Zhan Qipei, instead, she tightly clasped the man’s shoulders with both hands, her steps somewhat chaotic, trying to pull him away from the door.
Zhan Qipei, who had always been concerned about hurting Qiao Jing, saw that the woman wanted to leave and no longer held back. He reached out to wrap his arm around her waist and forcefully pulled her towards himself.
Qiao Jing immediately turned around, intending to exchange a few moves with Zhan Qipei, but didn’t expect the man to slip suddenly, bringing both of them crashing down to the ground.
A muffled thud resounded as Zhan Qipei’s broad back smashed into the floor, followed by a groan from him.
Their lips met, bodies pressed tightly against each other, Zhan Qipei and Qiao Jing locked eyes for a moment.
Without any hesitation, Qiao Jing pushed against Zhan Qipei’s chest to rise, but the man’s large hand firmly imprisoned her in his embrace.
“Let go!”
Qiao Jing struggled for a long time but, because she was drunk and couldn’t muster her strength, remained trapped against Zhan Qipei’s body.
The man beneath her, however, did not react and continued to hold her without letting go.
“Zhan Qipei, let go of me.”
Qiao Jing repeated the demand, this time with an authoritative tone.
She was getting angry, the man was being overly controlling.
Still, Zhan Qipei made no move. Under the influence of the alcohol, Qiao Jing’s anger reached its peak, and she bit down onto the man’s chest.
A circle of teeth marks imprinted onto the man’s shirt, yet he still showed no intention of releasing her.
Qiao Jing couldn’t stand it any longer, her cool gaze landing on Zhan Qipei’s belt.
“Since you insist, I’ll just have to perform another surgery on you!”
Qiao Jing, in agitation, reached for Zhan Qipei’s belt, but because she was drunk her hands were uncooperative, and after several attempts, she still couldn’t unbuckle it accurately.
Zhan Qipei tensed up, his dark eyes intently gazing at the woman on top of him, and through gritted teeth, he asked.
“Are you serious?”
With a slight raise of her eyebrows, Qiao Jing’s hands remained on the man’s belt.
“You’re the one clinging to me! If you don’t let go now, I’ll really perform surgery on you!”
Qiao Jing responded evenly, but her tone carried an added threat.
“Fine, I’ll let you do it.”
The man’s voice, deep as a cello, resonated beside Qiao Jing’s ear.
At the sound of Zhan Qipei’s words, Qiao Jing was jolted. Before she could react, everything began to spin.
Zhan Qipei had turned the tables on her—he was now on top!
The following morning.
Qiao Jing opened her eyes, still quite dazed, recalling last night’s events. She silently sat up in bed, not minding that there was no one beside her.
The only thing on her body was a clean shirt, and beneath that, emptiness.
Qiao Jing’s facial expression revealed no emotion; she walked into the bathroom to wash up. When she saw her reflection in the mirror, she momentarily paused while reaching for her toothbrush.
The blush from the previous night had not yet faded on her fair face, leaving a slight trace, her lips slightly swollen, yet it did nothing to mar her beautiful visage.
What truly concerned Qiao Jing was something on her body…
She lifted the shirt…
Bloodstains.
Last night they had…
It seemed, they had tangled up, and then she seemed to have bitten the man, even tearing his pants.
As she thought about it, Qiao Jing’s face gradually flushed with color.
Qiao Jing put down the shirt, finished washing up, and walked out of the bathroom to face Zhan Qipei.
The man was holding a bag in his left hand and a bowl of porridge in his right. Upon seeing Qiao Jing, he revealed a gentle smile.
“You’re awake. Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”
Zhan Qipei placed the porridge he had brought on the table, considerately opening the lid to let it cool, and set the other bag on the bed.
“This bag contains new clothes, put them on. I will take responsibility for what happened last night,”
the man said earnestly.
“There’s no need, last night was just an accident.”
Qiao Jing’s expression had already returned to normal. Without waiting for Zhan Qipei’s reaction, she took the bag on the bed and went into the bathroom.
Zhan Qipei’s smile also froze on his face the moment Qiao Jing uttered those words.
He was not a man to shirk responsibility—especially since he liked her so much and had already prepared himself to spend his life with Qiao Jing.
Last night was supposed to be an opportunity to deepen their emotional connection, but to his surprise, Qiao Jing didn’t seem to take it to heart.
Was he not good enough for Qiao Jing?
Thinking this, Zhan Qipei couldn’t help but furrow his brows, his thin lips pressed into a tight, curveless line of ice.
The bathroom door opened, and Qiao Jing had changed into the new clothes.
“When will the cruise ship dock?”
She needed to go home to change back into her own clothes and take some contraceptive measures for the incident last night. She also had to rush to work at the research institute in the afternoon.
Seeing that Qiao Jing did not bring up last night’s incident again, Zhan Qipei felt somewhat displeased inside and spoke sullenly,
“We’ve already docked. Where do you need to go? I’ll take you.”
“Home.”
Qiao Jing opened the door and walked straight out, with Zhan Qipei tidying up the untouched congee on the table before following behind her.
The small car was parked stably in the parking lot.
Qiao Jing didn’t go straight upstairs; instead, after getting out of the car, she turned and walked in another direction.
“Where to? I’ll take you there.”
Zhan Qipei got out of the car as well, still carrying the congee with him.
“There’s no need, it’s close by. You can go back first,”
Qiao Jing said before walking away and disappeared after turning into another alley.@@novelbin@@
Zhan Qipei had no choice but to return home and reheat the congee that had gone cold for Qiao Jing.
Inside the pharmacy.
Qiao Jing quickly found what she was looking for on the shelf and brought the box of birth control pills to the cashier.
“Twenty-five.”
At the cash register was a young girl who, looking down, scanned the contraceptives’ barcode and lifted her head slightly when taking the money from Qiao Jing.
After seeing Qiao Jing’s appearance, the girl holding the money was stunned.
This woman was incredibly beautiful! Even as a woman herself, she couldn’t help but be moved!
“Please give me the change.”
Qiao Jing handed over a fifty-yuan note and glanced at the time on her phone. She had work that afternoon, so she spoke up,
“Oh, oh, right, wait a moment.”
The girl came back to her senses and gave Qiao Jing another look after confirming the medicine was indeed birth control, unable to help but glance at her a few more times.
After giving the correct change, the girl was about to bag the pills in a black bag when they were taken from her hand.
“No need for a bag.”
Qiao Jing stuffed the box of pills into her pocket and hastened her steps back home.
“You’re back. The congee is heated just right, have some to fill your stomach,”
Zhan Qipei hadn’t gone to the company today and planned to stay at home all day.
Qiao Jing didn’t decline, as taking medicine on an empty stomach was indeed not good for the body.
She finished the bowl of congee, and Zhan Qipei’s expression finally softened.
As for the events of last night, they didn’t cause much of a ripple in Qiao Jing’s heart.
What do you think?
