Chapter 246: Chapter 238: Qiao Jing is Professor Qiao
But why did she feel as if there were eyes on her?@@novelbin@@
Qiao Jing accurately found the stare, only to realize it was coming from her own room.
Could she have been mistaken? How could there be someone in her room?
After the expert shook hands with Qiao Jing, he returned to his seat and drank the water from his cup in one gulp, hoping to calm himself.
Unbeknownst to the others, Zhan Qipei’s face darkened at the sight of Qiao Jing shaking hands with the expert, his gaze lingering intensely on their clasped hands.
No matter who the other person was, Zhan Qipei was not pleased to let anyone else touch Qiao Jing.
And just now, Qiao Jing had actually smiled at him!!
Qiao Jing listened intently as everyone discussed the current plan, not speaking but occasionally pointing out errors.
Xu Hongzu also discussed seriously with the other experts, with a paper and pen in front of him, where he had already made preliminary notes.
Qiao Jing patiently waited for their discussion to conclude.
The meeting gradually came to an end, and the passionate discussions around the table also ceased.
At that moment, Qiao Jing stood up, her tone particularly earnest, “So this time, thank you all for your hard work, and I hope that we can achieve great success.”
Everyone’s faces bore smiles, as if the research had already succeeded.
After Qiao Jing said that today, they suddenly had an epiphany and understood where they had gone wrong before.
“No trouble at all!”
“Let’s encourage each other!”
Xu Hongzu was also full of confidence in this research, and his admiration for Qiao Jing grew stronger.
Before Qiao Jing, there had not been anyone of her age who could achieve so much on their own.
“Xiao Jing, we’ll be going back first; I need to go to the research institute to record the plan you just mentioned,” Xu Hongzu’s mind was filled with the words Qiao Jing had just spoken, and he had noted them all down.
However, Qiao Jing shook her head, “It can’t be fixed in a short time anyway, let’s give everyone a day off today, and I will post the plan in the work group.”
The days of intense work had left everyone looking somewhat tired, but they had already brushed it off just moments before.
But she still planned to give everyone a day off, as today’s plan was enough for them to ponder over back home.
“Okay!”
“We’ll go first then, thank you for your hard work.”
Qiao Jing accompanied everyone to the door, and as she was about to go further, they stopped her, signaling that they could go downstairs on their own.
She did not insist further and allowed everyone to go down by themselves.
When Qiao Jing returned to the living room, she found an additional person on the sofa.
Her mind went blank for a moment, but she quickly understood what was happening. The stare she felt was not her imagination, it was Zhan Qipei’s.
“You heard everything,” Qiao Jing stated, also noticing a familiar cardboard box at Zhan Qipei’s feet.
In hearing Xu Hongzu and the expert’s discussion, Zhan Zhan Qipei had understood everything, and his suspicions were confirmed.
Qiao Jing was Professor Qiao.
He took the trophies and certificates out of the box, set them on the table, and said with a chuckle, “I thought I was already impressive, but it turns out my wife is even more remarkable. I guess I need to work even harder.”
He even felt like he wasn’t worthy of Qiao Jing, and this reinforced a thought in his mind, his wife was so incredible, he absolutely couldn’t let anyone steal her away.
Qiao Jing gave a faint smile, shook her head, and put the trophies and certificates back, “Didn’t you go to work today? How did you find these?”
“I didn’t go, Tang Yan will help handle it. I was planning to clean up the house. I found them under your desk while cleaning,” Zhan Qipei replied truthfully.
Meanwhile, Tang Yan was busy sweating bullets at the company.
After listening, Qiao Jing nodded slightly, “Don’t tell anyone about my identity.”
Zhan Qipei paused, furrowing his brows slightly, “Can’t I even tell my mom?”
Upon knowing that Qiao Jing was Professor Qiao, he had thought about telling Su Manhan.
Because that would stop Su Manhan from making things difficult for Qiao Jing, and he hoped his mother would accept his wife.
But it seemed Qiao Jing could guess his thoughts before he even spoke to Su Manhan about it.
The casual smile faded from Qiao Jing’s face, replaced by a serious expression, “I know your intention because your mom currently dislikes me, and you want to use my identity to make her accept me.”
Zhan Qipei said nothing, which was taken as agreement.
“But if you judge someone solely by their identity without getting to know them, accepting, and admiring them just because of that identity, it’s pointless,” Qiao Jing said.
She naturally understood Zhan Qipei’s thoughts and guessed that he might tell Su Manhan.
However, she did not want Su Manhan to accept her just because she was Professor Qiao.
“I don’t value things external to myself, and the title of Professor Qiao is merely an empty title to me. I am just Qiao Jing, a simple person who likes to work in agriculture.”
Qiao Jing spoke in an indifferent tone.
After listening, Zhan Qipei too reflected for a moment and realized his wife was indeed right.
Indeed, a person should not be judged by their achievements or the type of achievements they have.
And so, the matter was dropped.
That morning.
“Qiao Qiao—”
The voice of Ni Yue came through the phone, sounding a bit downcast.
“What’s up?” Qiao Jing was sitting at home, holding a medical book in her hands.
Ni Yue wailed, “I’ve run out of inspiration, I can’t draw, come hang out with me? I’ll take you to the club to dance!”
As soon as Ni Yue mentioned dancing, she perked up as if infused with excitement, and since Qiao Jing hadn’t responded, she began to plead, “Oh my dear Baby Qiao Qiao, these past few days I’ve been tortured by design drafts, just let me dance to relax a bit. I don’t want to go unless you come with me, will you come with me?”
Qiao Jing glanced at the time, it was eight in the evening, and agreed, “Okay.”
“Then don’t wear long sleeves and pants, oh, it’s very hot inside—gotta hang up now, I’m going to drive and pick you up!” Ni Yue swiftly hung up the phone, changed into a new outfit, and rushed downstairs.
Qiao Jing went back to her room, picked out a white short-sleeved top and denim shorts, changed, and went downstairs.
In the club, lights blurred together, with colorful neon lights flashing non-stop, Ni Yue in the middle of the dance floor, was twisting her body and waving her arms to the deafening music, as if to fling her troubles away with the music.
At the bar, Qiao Jing held a bottle of beer, casually drinking, her expression indifferent, her gaze fixed only on Ni Yue, seemingly oblivious to the noisy environment around her.
What do you think?
