Chapter 198 Cocky
The Sect Competition is organized once every two years, with over 20 sects participating. Twenty-seven core disciples from each sect are selected to represent their sect, so every core disciple strives to be among the chosen every two years.
Of course, it's just a competition, so why go through all this trouble just to raise your merit and become part of the selected?
The answer lies mainly in the follow-up competition after the sect competition—the Kingdom Genius Competition. This competition and the Saint/Saintess Competition are nearly on the same level of prestige.
Twenty-seven disciples will represent their sects; from these 27, the top seven will go on to represent their kingdoms in the Kingdom Genius Competition.@@novelbin@@
Those who seek fame and power mostly wouldn't let this chance pass. The Genius Competition will elevate them to a level only a few could measure up to.
The rewards are also very generous, so while the sect competition is like an audition, it's the most important stage where the best of the best will be selected.
Nobody would be stupid enough to give it away.
The Divine Palace Sect has already selected 25 disciples from the Sword, Spear, Archer, Body, Soul, Mage, and Alchemy factions...with two slots left for disciples who can prove they are worthy.
Randy was part of the selected few, so to put that on the line...one could tell he really meant the challenge, and Kent was doomed.
"You can keep your slot...I don't want it. However, that doesn't mean I won't beat you up. After all, my Ingrid told me two slots are available for any disciple to challenge and claim. Beating you up will win me that slot.
Plus, why would I want everyone to hate me for taking the slot of their one true genius?" Kent said with a smile.
Everyone was looking at him with different expressions. They just didn't understand how he could be this chill.
And what the fuck does he mean he doesn't want everyone to hate him...everyone already hates him.
"Of course, since there has to be a stake in this, why don't I suggest you call me Big Brother Kent for an entire year after I beat you up? Of course, you don't have to worry about reneging on that deal...if I can beat you up so you call me Big Brother, I can beat you up later too."
The fuming disciples were all glaring at Kent with murderous eyes.
"Of course, if you manage to defeat me, which I doubt will happen, I will grant any request you make, even if it's for me to slit my own throat. That is good enough, right?" Kent said, and this time, a few people reacted, displaying shocked expressions.
"How can this be enforced?" a disciple asked.
"You don't have to worry about that. There is someone here who can enforce it," Kent said, turning to his left. "Isn't that right, Tower Master?"
Everyone turned to the direction he was looking at. At first, they saw no one, but a few seconds later, a beautiful lady appeared. Another second later, the Sword Gate Master appeared.
Both the Sword and Spear Gates have women as gate masters. The rest are dudes with beards.
"Since the Gate Masters are here, do you think I will lie? If your genius manages to beat me, I will grant him whatever request he has.

Now, if you losers have nothing to say, I will be on my way." Kent held Ingrid's hand and turned to Randy. "You can pick a place and time. I will be going now."
With that, Kent, still holding Ingrid's hand, left the place. They all could only watch in stunned silence as the brat walked away.
The two gate masters looked at each other and vanished into thin air. The next time they appeared, they were in a lush garden.
"Your disciple is cocky...but handsome," the Spear Gate Master said. She is Spear Sage Camilla, one of the most dangerous women on the human continent and perhaps the entire world.
She is very strong, with only a couple of shortcomings below the Sword Gate Master.
"Oh, he is cocky alright...but I don't know about handsome," Gate Master Mara said.
"Please don't lie to yourself. That brat is handsome alright...I wouldn't mind making him my boy toy," Gate Master Camilla said with a smirk.
"Tsk...what does a hundred-year-old virgin know about boy toys?" Gate Master Mara sneered.
"As if you are any different," the two ladies teased, smiling at each other. They are friends to a certain extent, so while there are rivalries between the gates, the two being the only ladies had to band together.
"But you must be worried for your disciple, right? I mean, you saw that brat—he wasn't even placing him in his eyes," Gate Master Mara asked.
"I saw that, and yes, I am worried. For some reason, even I became scared of him when he discovered us. I mean, not even a peak Root Great Sage could have sensed us. Something about him scares me," Gate Master Camilla said.
Gate Master Mara nodded. "Same here. I don't know how, but he scares me."
"Then why do you want to kill him...and please don't say it was because of what he did to your disciples," Gate Master Camilla asked.
"Who said I want to kill him? I just wanted to discipline him...unfortunately, I never got the chance since his master wouldn't let me see him."
"Then should we kidnap him and take him to a secret place so you can beat him up? I mean, he is in my domain now...I can make up an excuse," Gate Master Camilla offered.
"Why, are you a child? Kidnapping him would be mercy...I will set him up in the coming days and then have my way with him from there," Gate Master Mara said with a smile.
"Just don't kill him. Though he is still weak, he might just become a good toy to finally become a woman. I wouldn't mind at all," Gate Master Camilla said, licking her lips, making Gate Master Mara stare at her in disdain.
"Don't look at me with those beautiful blue eyes. I have lived for over a hundred years already, and having fun here and there is not bad at all. You should try it sometime."
Gate Master Mara just ignored her. She was currently tracking Kent, who was making his way toward the Spear Saintess's home.
"But you should warn your disciple, though. This brat will just make him lose face," Gate Master Mara said, knowing Kent wasn't about to lose, considering she felt his aura firsthand—and that was when he was just a Master Swordsman.
"I won't. That disciple, Randy, seems to still have the mindset of the rich and entitled. These children from noble homes never learn to respect, so if your disciple is capable, let him teach him a lesson.
Of course, this will also give me the opportunity and excuse to invite him over." Gate Master Camilla laughed at the expression on Gate Master Mara's face.
Though she wasn't as unruly as Gate Master Camilla, her interest in Kent started getting the best of her.
The coming days will be rough for her...
What do you think?
