Chapter 282 Demons...OR {Gift Bonus Chapter}
[I promise you, I will come back and rescue you soon,] Kent said as he flew deeper into the cave, searching for the dangers that awaited him and his allies when they came for the rescue mission.
He had to be thorough if he wanted to have a shot at saving the green-haired beauty and the pitiful disciple of the Spear gate master.
He moved through the underground cave for a while, but nothing else was found besides the cages housing the beasts.
However, he didn't give up.
He never believed the evil within this evil lair wouldn't have something spooky up his sleeves. He needed to use his time there wisely, considering his soul essence was running low.
Nara told him that the sect master had minions that he seemed to have created. She had seen them several times and didn't fail to point that out to him.
He wanted to see what those were. However, it wasn't proving to be something he would have any luck with, as after moving for close to two hours, he found nothing.
It was like those minions or their masters were hidden from sight. Kent was clearly disappointed.
However, just when he was about to give up, an entrance opened at a dead end as he was just leaving. Continue your journey on My Virtual Library Empire
From the entrance, a monstrous figure could be seen dragging a beast inside a cage toward the direction of the cauldron.
Kent was stuck to the walls as a bat, so he could see everything.
The figure was humanoid in nature, but all its features were monstrous.
It has six arm-like tendrils that are longer than they should be. The body is coated in some kind of decaying material. The legs are larger than they should be, and the mouth is very large.
The eyes are red and larger than usual. There was no hair on the body.
"Is that a demon?" Kent thought as he watched the demonic figure drag the cage away. It wasn't exactly what he expected, but it gave him a way to learn about what he came for.
"So the dead ends are just fake walls," Kent thought and moved. All the dead ends he had visited were fake walls that pointed to the same place.
Soon, he was in front of the fake wall. He moved through it and found himself in a large space that he knew for a fact he shouldn't be in.
It wasn't meant to be discovered, but here he was, staring at hundreds of cocoons housing spider-like monsters, each colossal in nature.
Then he saw the monstrosities moving about, and he could only sigh as he stuck to the walls.
He saw the demonic-looking figures, like the one he had encountered right before he entered the real lair of the sect master.
But aside from them, there were others. They were spiders in nature, but they had feet that allowed them to stand on their own two legs.
They also have an arm, but on their back are close to eight limbs, each ending in a razor-sharp appendage.
Kent didn't move any closer, mainly because he sensed a powerful presence sitting inside a small room just a few meters from where he was.
The feeling he was getting from the person wasn't one he was eager to investigate.
If possible, he wouldn't leave any suspicion behind, so the sect master wouldn't have a reason to kill the two ladies before he could launch the rescue mission.
"My soul essence is almost running out. I have to go back and return later," Kent thought as he flew away, making sure he was as quiet as possible.
Luckily for him, he was able to leave without raising any suspicions.
However, before leaving, he went to say another goodbye to the green-haired beauty, who was now feeling hopeful.
Hearing about her sister gave her something to hold on to.
She wanted to pass some of that hope to the dejected disciple of the Spear Gate Master, who had not been faring well these past few days.
Kent told her the odds they would be going up against.
[Is that even possible to overcome?] she asked.
[Nothing is impossible, Nara. Provided the sect master is separated from his minions, we can get this done and done well enough,] Kent said.
[But that's just separating them. He is still a Root Ascension stage expert. How can he be killed? Only his death will ensure everything is truly over. Someone just 2 stages below the peak of this world can't easily be killed. I know that for sure,] she replied, showing she didn't act without a solid plan.
She had 60 years plus to make several plans, but at every end, she saw no way of beating the sect master. He is just too powerful in her eyes.@@novelbin@@
But Kent was different.
[As I told you, sister, everything can be killed, provided you have enough prep time. Now, I know what I'll be up against.
This means I have to prepare well, which I have all the means to accomplish. So just relax. I will return when I have enough soul strength for one last sweep.
I promise you, within the next three weeks, you will be free from this place. I just need to figure out a few things first," Kent assured her.]
[Take all the time you need. I will ensure she doesn't lose hope. So we will all wait for you to come rescue us,] she said before Kent flew away.
He saw the danger and knew things wouldn't be that simple.
This meant he had to make preparations, and that would involve building his relationship with the two gate masters to some extent so he could trust them enough to let them in on some of his secrets.
He would be lying if he said he could take on this rescue mission all by himself. The danger was just too great. But that didn't mean he would give up.
No, the third quest had appeared, and it would set him on the path of what to do next.
His ladies were there, and Uncle Drew was also there. This meant if he managed to get the gate masters involved, he would be able to get this done, even in the most dangerous way possible.
But he had everything under control for now.
The auction was in four days' time, but before then, he planned on coming back again to assess the situation and further come up with the right and good plan.
What do you think?
