Chapter 371: The Rescue Mission (2)
Kent appeared inside the Tower City, where the Soul Sentinels and Saden were sparring.
Saden was sparring with Nyxira, the Silent Assassin. She is one of Elsa's soul sentinels.
Since Saden uses a bow, the shadowy assassin is the best opponent to train her reaction speed and shooting accuracy.
Death is not permanent inside the tower, so they aren't holding back their attacks.
"Big brother, I missed you!" The small human lady dashed toward Kent, jumping into his arms.
Kent, who had almost forgotten about her, smiled and swung her around, causing Li Hua to laugh and giggle, finally getting the big brother treatment she craved.
She had recovered from the death of her grandma thanks to Nyxira and the rest of the Sentinels, making her feel loved and cared for.
After swinging her around for a while, he set her down and looked to check whether she had grown taller. But to his disappointment, she was still the same height—not an inch taller.
"You're growing," Kent said, trying to sound encouraging. Li Hua just looked at him and smirked.
"You're a terrible liar, brother. I know I'll never grow taller than this, so stop lying." Kent smiled guiltily but brushed her hair and assured her.
"Don't worry. Smaller people like you tend to become the strongest when they grow." Though the Atomic Divine Body physique hadn't awakened yet, she possessed it, and that was why she would never increase in height or size again.
But that would all change if she wanted to. She could just learn a transformation skill and temporary take on a bigger body if she wanted to.
"Big brother, watch this!" Li Hua retrieved a dagger she had hoisted on her waist and started flipping it between her fingers.
It was like someone who had used the dagger for years, for she was really moving it between her fingers skillfully, causing Kent to raise his eyebrow.
He didn't expect something like that to happen, so he was taken aback.
"That's awesome, right? Big sister Nyxira showed me how to do it," Li Hua said with a cute little smile.
"You are a genius Li Hua, a one of a kind Genius." The small human smiled, making Kent strangely feel a sense of happiness for her.
He lifted her onto his shoulder and moved toward the three Sentinels and the Night Rider, who had stopped sparring when they noticed his presence.
"You four have done well taking on the Malrics and their slave business" Kent said. They nodded in acknowledgement.
Their mission to handle the Malrics was more than a resounding success. They had completely eradicated their ranks, thanks to Saden's ability to read the memories of the dead.
It was something she used extensively throughout the duration of their mission. So, when everything was over, even those who had done business with them years ago were killed.
"It had to be done to stop them," Saden said, like a righteous mage.
"Then be happy to know they won't be the last slave traders you'll be eradicating," Kent said with a smile. Then he turned serious.
"We have a mission this time, with everyone. However, you four will be moving with me and another teammate.
Though I don't want to underestimate our opponents, the battle will be simple, so be ready. I will inform you when it's time for the mission."
"We will be ready."
"Very well. I'll see you later," Kent said to them before leaving with Li Hua.
"Big brother, I want to join the mission too. Last time, Big Sister Nyxira didn't take me with them, so I want to join this one," Li Hua said, holding her small dagger like a professional.
Kent chuckled at her demand.
"You're still too young to join this mission," he said, brushing her head. But Li Hua didn't smile.
"But big brother, I can do this..." She spun the dagger through her fingers again, widening Kent's smile.
"I know you can do that. However, this is a mission for your big sisters and brothers. I promise when you reach the stage, I will take you on all the missions I go on."
Li Hua didn't like the rejection, but she understood where Kent was coming from, so she didn't make things hard for him.
"You promised. When the time comes and you don't take me, I won't allow you to leave," she pouted, but Kent managed to calm her down.
"I'll be going back now. Don't neglect your training, okay? You're doing great so far." Li Hua nodded as Kent vanished away.
His next destination was the various training towers for his ladies. This time, Gaia made it so Kent could enter without entering the training paths they were walking.
Inside their towers, there was a portal that led inside. Meaning they have a living space just like the rest of the towers.
But because she knew Kent might come there, she made it so the moment he or anyone entered, the owner would be notified. So, Kent told them all to come out after 16 days.
The mission would start in 20 hours, meaning they had 20 days to train inside the tower. After delivering the message, he left the tower and appeared outside.
The moment he did, Uncle Drew, who had been away for over two weeks, emerged from a black portal, radiating the presence of someone straight from hell.
Kent, who could tell he had become a Root Great Sage, smiled.
This also shows whatever he went to do in the underworld and Hell was a resounding success. He told him just like inside the tower, time in the underworld and hell already runs faster.
It's even faster than the one inside the tower. So while only 21 days passed on the outside, a year or years might have already passed there.
Kent nodded at the aura around him.
"You're right on time, Uncle Drew. The mission is ready. We move out in 20 hours," He said to his Night Rider Captain, who had become stronger after spending years in the underworld, transforming 2 Transcendents and 6 Great Sages into hell demons.
"How did it go, Uncle Drew?" Kent asked, and Uncle Drew smiled.
"It went better than I hoped, Master. If possible, I want to get my hands on more people to take there" he said, his smile widening.
"Looks like you had a great success this time" Uncle Drew nodded.
"I met someone in the underworld who helped me greatly. Now, I have two Ascension-stage Hell Demons and six Transcendent-stage Hell Demons.
And thanks to this person, the hell demons are not like their human forms. They have become several times stronger and deadlier."
"Damn, Uncle Drew. Who was this person who made you smile so cheerfully? In fact, who was this person who went out of their way to help you become this monstrous?"
Kent asked, also smiling. If what he said was indeed the case, then this person was worth knowing and perhaps befriending.
"They call her the Queen of the Underworld, but she said her name is Nyx, the Ruler of the 9th Level of the Underworld," Uncle Drew answered, and Kent raised an eyebrow.
'Nyx, huh...'
What do you think?
