Chapter 557 Grand Scheme
557 Grand Scheme
A disturbing sound of footsteps resonated softly in a dark and desolate world, where there only seemed to be small mounds of earth and rocks scattered around.
The humidity and the dark mist in the air were practically palpable, making it very difficult to see what was there.
Although there seemed to be nothing in this place and the floor was made of earth, the footsteps resonated as if they were on concrete.
Furthermore, the footsteps seemed to come from everywhere, making it difficult to describe exactly where they were coming from or who was causing this disturbing and repeated sound.
Time gradually revealed a tall and splendid figure, moving smoothly through the place, creating soft but firm sounds.
He was dressed in red and black, adorning his figure with a small rose around his neck. Although it didn't look like a real rose, as it looked like it had been made with his tie, he moved his hand towards it and grabbed it, revealing a rose with a long stem.
It was real and didn't seem to be stained by the strange dark haze that looked like ash.
The more his figure was revealed, the more one could understand why his shoes echoed across this plain, of which little could be seen.
His walking took place not on the ground but at ground level, his shoes touching a small tile created under his feet with each step.
After walking for a long period of time without distractions, he suddenly stopped, and his face, slightly obscured by the mist, dropped slightly as he looked at one of the mounds of earth and stones.
His mouth curved gently into a smile, the only thing that could be seen of him.
"I think that..." Soon, a voice echoed through the place, making every corner tremble. "The Great Era is here."
He looked at the flower in his hand and enjoyed its scent for a moment before throwing it to the ground. It fell gently as if unaffected by gravity.
The moment it touched the ground, the strange mounds of earth and stone shook.
Suddenly, they exploded in all directions, and several dark but apparently living hands emerged from them. Then legs and finally, different bodies emerged from what appeared to be special sarcophagi.
All of them had slightly dull eyes, so they seemed to be half dead. A few seconds later, however, these eyes regained the light of life, and many pairs of red eyes illuminated this strange darkness.
Although they were confused, after looking to the sides several times, they recognized each other and understood what was happening.
So they looked at the man who had just thrown the rose on the ground and prostrated themselves.
This man smiled slightly.
"I have been walking for countless years until I could feel it."
"Two Eras have come together today."
"Finally, the predetermined time has come. The world must know of our return."
Although they seemed strangely confused, his words were what all these people needed.
Everyone could understand what that person was referring to.
Because all this was always a Grand Scheme.
...
Among the darkness, the blood, the scattered bones, and the great lifeless mountains of an unknown world, a man lay in the middle of it all.
His calm appearance demonstrated his personality.
His face was exquisite but strangely pale as if he didn't have a shred of blood. He seemed to be sleeping peacefully on countless corpses and dry bones.
His eyelids moved as he lay in a deep sleep, and his eyes opened. A palpable darkness could be seen in his eyes, but there seemed to be some curiosity.
"Dietrich?"
He couldn't help but get up heavily, breaking several bones in the process. When that happened, other bones that technically shouldn't be attached to the others anymore twisted as if in pain.
He looked at this and sighed. @@novelbin@@
"Right, I fell asleep in this sea of corpses. My power surely created exotic creatures." He didn't waste any time and got to his feet.
As it did so, a sea of bones and strange things rose. The flesh of all these bones had decomposed long ago, but that didn't stop them from rising.
There were many kinds of strange beasts but without flesh. All are made of bone.
"Phew, without flesh, everything looks lifeless. I'll have to find them some meat, little ones." As he said this, he looked towards the nearby mountains.
"Someone speak here? Listening to Bones Crunch has never been my favorite way to communicate; I still like to hear words."
His shout echoed and caused all the bone-made beasts to stand still as if they felt uncomfortable because of his words. Somehow, they seemed to understand him, even though they didn't seem to have a brain or anything similar.
Soon, some figures emerged from the mountains and came to stand in front of the first man.
"Divine? Hahahaha, it seems they've taken their work seriously."
"Dark Lord, it's been many years since you woke up. This is a surprise for us."
"Hahaha, well, you didn't have to fight a bastard as tough as that damn one. I had to recover."
"Are you feeling better already?"
"I won't be injured forever, will I?" He looked them up and down, sighed, and complained. "You are so weak."
These beings had never heard such words before, but to the man in front of them, it was real. They were weak.
People at the top of the food chain anywhere were powerless in the face of this man's terrifying existence.
"If you woke up now, is it to eat? We can serve you the best..."
"I didn't get up to eat. I felt a Dietrich."
"A Dietrich?!" The three of them in front of him exclaimed.
"And not just any one."
"Impossible. They fell, there are no more. We can assure you of that."
He looked at them and shook his head helplessly.
He began to walk, stomping heavily on the various bones that crossed his path. It didn't matter if they were really dry bones or the bones of those strange creatures that were born of him; they were all shattered under his feet.
He walked limp, so he grabbed a long bone and used it as a cane.
"The Immortal Energy of the most dangerous Dietrich has resonated once again."
"Don't forget who he is."
"The Installer of Eras."
"The one whose status, power, and potential were so high that he frightened us all. If we neglect him again, he will pass over us. Perhaps the prophecy did not refer to 10 million years ago. Perhaps the Installer of Eras was destined to reign in this era."
"But it is my death or your destiny. It is my death or your immortality. It is I, the Lord of Death, or you, the Immortal God. Death is also eternal, my dear Heir of the Origin. Which eternity will surpass the other? Hahahaha... It could be exciting again. A struggle for supremacy, just like in the old days."
His frenzied but controlled laughter echoed through space and the mountains, bringing a frantic chill to whoever heard it.
A man who once struck fear into the powerful beings of the universe had awakened.
He is what you might call...
A God.
What do you think?
