Protagonist's Evil System: My Girlfriend Turned Into A Dragon

Chapter 139 Realisation

"Here you are, Lucas."

Lucas turned around and saw Haya coming towards him. His face was pale and he was holding a canteen filled with water. Haya handed it over to Lucas who drank a few sips from it before putting it back inside his pocket.

"Lucas, what the fuck happened? We just got here and now you're in this position, what the fuck?" He frowned.

It's true, they were getting started and Lucas kinda messed up the plans for them once again, but what could he do? This happened against his will. Izek decided to attack the system and he had to fulfil his promise, regardless of the consequences.

"Izek told me that he has the plan to kill the system."

"What?! Are you serious?!"

"I don't know how to describe it, but I can feel it deep within me."

"How can you possibly do that?"

"I don't know, it's like I can hear him, I talk to him." Lucas didn't want to say anything about seeing Izek's memories not to be called crazy.

"Fuck, Lucas, this is bad news! Now we have to fight Izek!"

"What do you mean?"

"Izak is already inside the system, and he wants us to join him."

"What do you mean?"

"He wants to kill the system, and he knows that we will be able to do it."

"If he enters the system, then he'll be able to kill it because he's already inside it."

"Lucas, he's not only inside it, but he has a body like yours, and he's able to manipulate the system and make use of its power to kill the system."

"What do you mean by that?"

"He's going to kill the system by transferring some of his energy into it." Haya paused.

Lucas's face turned pale as he was in shock more than Haya should've been, but Haya knew about it and said nothing, "Haya, why didn't you say anything?" Lucas asked.

"I'm sorry, Lucas, but I didn't want to worry you."

"I don't care, I want to know everything."

"Alright, Izek is planning on using his powers to transfer some of his energy into the system, and he thinks that it is going to kill the system."

"It will kill it? How can he do that? Is he going to die too?"

"I don't know, but I don't think so."

"So, he's going to kill the system and feed his own energy to it?"

"Yeah, and he'll become immortal."

"Is he insane?"

"What else would you call someone who kills billions of people just so he can live forever?"

Lucas stood up, "well, I'm going to stop him, there's nothing that he can do to me now."

"You can't do that, Lucas!" Haya interrupted.

"Why not?"

"Because you're not powerful enough to defeat either of them, the system and Izek, they will make you vanish in seconds."

"I'm not afraid of them anymore!"

"You can't confront Izek alone, Lucas!"

"I know that, but I'm not going to wait any longer, I'm going to do whatever it takes to stop him!"

"Please listen to me, Lucas, you can't do this. We will find a way to stop Izek, you're going to be safe here."

"No! I can't give up now, I won't let him do this to me, to the people, to everyone this is just insane, this whole place is insane, we have to get out of here and find a way to protect the system. We're going to destroy it."

"Lucas, please, you're going to be killed!"

"We'll be fine, Haya, I don't care about myself, but I'll find a way to stop Izek somehow, I have no choice, and neither does Haya."

"You don't understand what's going on, Lucas, and you shouldn't do anything stupid, trust me!"

"There is no other option, I can't just sit here and watch while my family, friends, everyone dies!"

"No, Lucas, you can't do this; you're not ready for this."

The atmosphere between these two grew heavier, and Lucas had to think about what he was doing. He was trying to convince himself that there was no other way to do things, but what if he was wrong? What if he was going to commit suicide?

"Do you have any idea where Izek is?" Lucas asked.

"That's a stupid question and you know it, he's in your body, Lucas..." Haya paused then looked around if no one was listening.

He came closer to Lucas and told him, "but he can communicate through it, so it's almost impossible to track his location."

"Well, he's still in my body, isn't he?"

"Yes, and he'll probably keep attacking until he destroys the system."

"What should we do?"

"I think he's already on his way to the system."

"How can you know that?"

Haya let a long sigh, "because that's Izek, we wouldn't expect anything less from that fucker."

"What should we do?"

"We'll have to wait until he attacks the system, and then we'll have to go after him."

"But how are we going to follow him?"

"We'll have to wait until he starts destroying the system. When he does, we'll figure out how to follow him."

"How are we going to escape from here?"

"We'll have to find a way to leave this place, but for now, Lucas, we will have to follow the system missions," Haya looked him straight in the eyes, "you can't tell anyone about this, anyone!" Haya whispered.

"Okay."

"Now, I have another mission for you, Lucas, to help us find a way to the city."

"Really?"

"Yes, I know that you don't like the idea of following orders, but we really need your help."

"I don't mind helping you, I just don't understand why you don't want me to tell anyone."

"We can't risk it, Lucas, trust me."

"Alright, I'll do it, but I have a question."

"Yes?"

"Why didn't you tell me about all of this before?"

"I wanted to, but I was waiting for the perfect moment."

"And now is the perfect moment?"

"Yes, now is the best time, Lucas, and I believe that you will be able to save the system."

"Why do you believe that?"

"Because you're stronger than you used to be, and you're better at controlling your powers than before."

"But didn't you just say that I was too weak?"

"Yes, I mean you're not strong enough to defeat the system or Izek. But you're going to be able to defeat both of them if you can control your powers. You're going to be able to defeat them, Lucas, but you have to trust me."

"I do trust you."

Haya smiled, "good, now, let's go, you have a mission to complete."

"Haya, I just want you to tell me if you hated Izek, why would you follow him again after he betrayed you?" Lucas asked.

"That's a good question, Lucas."

"Didn't he betray you?"

"Yes, he did. But I never stopped believing in him, and I always knew that he was capable of doing something about this horrible situation."

"You believed in him more than you trusted me."

"I never meant to hurt you, Lucas, I just wanted to save the world."

"I understand that."

They walked side by side in silence, and Lucas was thinking about what he was doing. It was true that he didn't have any other options, but he couldn't give up at any cost. He had to find a way to stop Izek, it was the only thing he could do for his sister, his friends, and his family.

Lucas was having a hard time accepting his new reality, but he was determined to keep fighting, even though he wasn't sure if he was going to win. He felt like giving up many times, but deep down he knew that he had to keep trying. He had to try his best until the end. He had to do it for his family, his loved ones, for everyone. He had to do it for himself because he had no other choice.

He had to fight for his life, for his future. He had to prove to himself that he could do this and that he would succeed. He was going to become stronger every day. The harder he trained, the more he understood that he needed to train to the maximum. If he didn't do it, he would lose his mind, and he knew that his powers could drive him crazy. He had to focus and fight with everything he had, and he was going to achieve his goals.

His vision went black and he saw Izek's face, "you will never be able to defeat me, Lucas."

Izek approached Lucas's body, "you're wrong, you're going to be dead very soon."

Izek grabbed someone's head and started moving it around, "your body will perish in a few minutes, and I'm going to enjoy watching your last moments."

"Izek, I'm ready for you."

"Good, I'm glad that you finally realized that you will never defeat me."

Izek put the person's head back on the ground, "now, let's start the fun."

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm going to drain your energy, and then I'm going to use it to increase my power."

"What do you mean?"

Lucas's jaw dropped, 'is this another memory of Izek?'

"Of course, I'm going to use the energy that I absorb from you to become stronger than you ever imagined I could be."

"How much stronger?"

"You won't be able to imagine, I'm going to be invincible."

"Alright, I'm going to fight you."

"You're too late, I already defeated you and took control of your body."

"What do you mean? You lost."

These were the last words that Lucas heard in this dialogue between Izek and someone.

The dialogue was unclear and Lucas wasn't sure whose head Izek was moving, and threatening, but then a realisation came to Lucas's thoughts.

"The system is a living person!" Cold shivers went down his skin, and when he looked at the blank Haya's face, Lucas asked another question, "so the system is the main evil behind this?"

Haya's eyes narrowed when Lucas said that, letting a long sigh out, he replied to Lucas's question, "yes..."
