Chapter 29 - 29 29 Call Me Uncle Ye

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Call Me Uncle Ye Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Call Me Uncle Ye “I don’t dare to go, your dad threatened me, saying if I approached you, he wouldn’t let me off!” Yu Zhaohui shook her head with difficulty, “It took me so much effort to get away from him, and I won’t let him entangle me again, he’s like an evil spirit!”

“I don’t know, I only know that without mom by my side, I feel helpless…” Tang Yu’s eyes reddened as she looked outside the window. “I don’t understand why once you left, you never showed up again.”

“I didn’t disappear, I was just supporting you behind the scenes.”

Tang Yu looked at her, puzzled, “What do you mean?”

“Remember when you graduated from high school and were admitted to a school abroad with a scholarship, don’t you?”

Tang Yu had excellent scores in her college entrance exams. When it was time to choose a university, the homeroom teacher approached her and suggested she apply to a certain university overseas.

She naturally didn’t want to because that would require a lot of money, and she barely managed to gather enough for the basic tuition.

However, the homeroom teacher told her that if she were admitted, that university would offer her a generous scholarship.

Having the chance to go abroad and see the world, Tang Yu had no objections and followed her homeroom teacher’s advice.

Unexpectedly, she achieved success.

Tang Yu still remembers how shocked she felt at the time.

“Does that have something to do with you?”

Yu Zhaohui smiled gently, “Of course. I approached the homeroom teacher and used my connections to lay the groundwork overseas. Otherwise, why would such a prestigious school admit you? After all, there are many others more outstanding than you.”

Tang Yu was astonished.

She had never imagined that her mother had been by her side all along, arranging school and the substantial scholarship for her.

“Is that scholarship from you?” She asked, not quite sure.

“The scholarship was only twenty thousand; I had the school tell you it was one hundred thousand so that your life over there would be much easier.”

Tang Yu was initially stunned to receive one hundred thousand; to think she had that much, and the school even told her to keep quiet about it.

She had thought it was being low-profile, but it turns out the extra eighty thousand was given by Yu Zhaohui. If others knew the scholarship was one hundred thousand, there would be an uproar among the other students competing for scholarships.

But how does Yu Zhaohui have so much money and such impressive connections?

Only then did Tang Yu take a closer look at Yu Zhaohui’s attire.

Her fingers and necklace were adorned with jewelry, her clothes were designer brands, and the price of that handbag would not be less than six figures.

She was the epitome of a wealthy lady.

“Are you… remarried now?” Tang Yu couldn’t help but speculate.

Yu Zhaohui nodded, her face showing happiness, “Yes, I married the man I love.”

Tang Yu could see that Yu Zhaohui was doing very well.

In fact, she wasn’t so selfish. Naturally, she hoped her mother was living a good life.

And, in the days of the past, she missed her mother far more than she resented her.

Besides, Yu Zhaohui hadn’t entirely neglected her; it was just that she didn’t know it.

During the meal, Yu Zhaohui hardly ate anything, continuously serving Tang Yu dishes, as if she wished she’d eat up everything.

“Where are you working now? Your university professor said you stopped attending school. Why did you quit when things were going well?” Yu Zhaohui asked when she remembered the matter.

Tang Yu couldn’t possibly tell the truth.

Even though abroad is quite open-minded, if she revealed that she had a one-night stand with a male escort and gave birth to quadruplets, it would definitely shock Yu Zhaohui to the core.

“I just didn’t want to study anymore. I was working at KING Group awhile back, but now I’ve resigned.”

Yu Zhaohui paused slightly, “KING Group?”

“Yes, what about it?”

“Oh nothing, it’s just that there’s no one in Kyoto who doesn’t know about KING Group, it’s at the pinnacle of power.”

Tang Yu felt the same.

When she bowed her head to eat, she didn’t notice Yu Zhaohui’s slightly distant expression.

By the end of the meal, Tang Yu felt much closer to Yu Zhaohui in her heart.

When leaving the restaurant, Yu Zhaohui invited her to visit her home, and Tang Yu hadn’t seen the children for two days.

She just said she had something to do today and would visit next time.

Tang Yu didn’t even dare to let Yu Zhaohui’s car give her a lift; she turned and ran away.

Carrying four cakes, she walked all the way to the subway entrance.

While waiting for the subway, Tang Yu’s mood was still unsettled.

The closer one gets to home, the more apprehensive they become. Yet, upon getting close, she realized that she couldn’t bear to leave the capital.

But if she didn’t leave, it would be very troublesome if Ye Sihan discovered she gave birth to his quadruplets.

Throughout the journey, Tang Yu was conflicted about various things.

Until she got home.

When the time came, she went to pick up the children.

Upon seeing Mommy, the children’s eyes lit up; they waved their little legs, competing to rush forward.

“Mommy!”

“Mommy!”

“Mommy!”

“Mommy!”

Their voices were soft and cute, with a hint of tears, as if they felt wronged.

Xibao, in particular, clung to Tang Yu’s leg and wouldn’t move, not saying a word, silently pitiful.

Tang Yu bent down, picked her up onto her lap, and kissed her little cheek, “Mommy’s back now, it’s all okay.”

Back at home, Li Xue hadn’t returned from work yet, so Tang Yu started to cook first.

The four little ones were playing in the living room.

Not until Li Xue came back did they have dinner and then enjoy a piece of cake each.

Xibao scooped the first bite of cake and fed it to Mommy.

Tang Yu looked at the cake on the spoon; although she had her own piece of cake, she did not refuse, gobbled it up, and said with a smile, “Mmm, delicious.”

Xibao laughed happily at her response, clearly thrilled.

The cellphone on the coffee table rang, and Junjun’s little legs bounced off the floor, “I’ll get it!” After getting it, she handed it to Tang Yu, “Mommy!”

“Thank you!”

Looking at the caller ID, it was the number Yu Zhaohui had saved during the day; she walked onto the balcony to answer, “Hello…?”

“Xiaoyu, come over to Mommy’s this Sunday for a meal; I’ve already spoken to your uncle. He knows I found you and is so happy,” Yu Zhaohui said on the phone.

“Is that alright?” Tang Yu didn’t know how many people were in that ‘uncle’s’ family. Besides the uncle, would the rest of the family welcome her?

“Of course it’s alright! I wouldn’t have mentioned it otherwise.”

Tang Yu thought it over briefly and agreed, “Okay.”

Now that she and her mother had acknowledged each other, and they knew about her existence, it would be rude not to join them for a meal.

After all, don’t be too enthusiastic, nor too cold, just keep up appearances.

When Saturday arrived, Tang Yu went alone to Yu Zhaohui’s home.

It was indeed a wealthy household, with villas, luxury cars, and servants.

Her own mother had actually married into such a wealthy family. Hearing and seeing were different matters; being there in person, she couldn’t help feeling constrained, worried about bringing any negative impact to Yu Zhaohui.

A man in homewear approached, a tall figure. Perhaps due to wealth, he appeared younger than his actual age. Apart from the wrinkles etched into his face by time, his demeanor did not diminish with the passage of time but exuded a sense of mature confidence.

He had a smile on his face when he spotted Tang Yu, appearing very amiable, “So this is Xiaoyu? Welcome, welcome.”

“Quickly, call him Uncle Ye,” Yu Zhaohui reminded her.

Tang Yu was startled at first, her subconscious filled with doubt. Surname Ye? Since when did the Ye surname become so common?
