Chapter 2957: Kong Lin Had No Choice but to Protect Yu Liuli
Ning Shu realized that this task was even more infuriating than the previous world’s task.
The contract was already in place, and dissolving it would be extremely difficult.
At this stage, Yu Liuli was still too weak to even consider dissolving the contract and giving up such a major advantage.
Especially since the contracted beast was a divine beast. Having a divine beast contract was an incredibly prestigious thing.
If Kong Lin could have threatened Yu Liuli into dissolving the contract, he would’ve done so long ago.
If he pushed Yu Liuli too far, she might simply decide to kill him. In that case, the world’s ordinances would take care of him for her.@@novelbin@@
Because that was how the contract rules worked.
Ning Shu was inwardly cursing nonstop, feeling utterly frustrated and helpless. Kong Lin had no choice but to protect Yu Liuli because if she died, so would he.
Even Kong Lin didn’t know how to unilaterally break the contract. What could Ning Shu possibly do?
This was practically a dead end.Life was full of helplessness; everyone was stuck in their own swamp.
Right now, Yu Liuli was weak and needed strong protection—a foundation for her to act cool and crush her enemies.
That was why Kong Lin had been chosen.
Thinking about it this way, Kong Lin felt like nothing more than a pawn on a chessboard.
He wanted to escape the game, but it was impossible. His strength was far too lacking.
Kong Lin’s painstaking efforts to become a divine beast now seemed a bit laughable.
He had thought about killing this weak human, but as soon as such thoughts arose, his soul trembled violently, as if it were about to shatter into nothingness.
Kong Lin had tried every method he could think of to gain freedom, but none of them worked. Yu Liuli knew his weak spot.
Ning Shu looked at her reflection in the water again and touched this face. Damn, it was too handsome.
Even Ning Shu was taken aback by her own good looks. She quickly looked away.
Now, she had to go find food for Yu Liuli.
Truly, the behavior of a servant.
Because Kong Lin was a divine beast, there were hardly any other spiritual beasts in his territory.
There were no small spiritual beasts to hunt as food.
Ning Shu halfheartedly picked a few edible fruits and returned.
Yu Liuli was cautiously scanning her surroundings. When she saw Ning Shu, she let out a sigh of relief and asked, “Why did you take so long?”
Seeing that Ning Shu hadn’t brought back any game, Yu Liuli frowned slightly and asked, “Is there nothing to eat?”
Ning Shu replied with an air of pride, “This entire area is my territory. There are no other spiritual beasts here.”
The pressure of a divine beast was too much for ordinary spiritual beasts to bear.
Ning Shu handed over a few fruits and said, “Make do with these.”
“From now on, handle this kind of food-searching task yourself. I am a divine beast, not your manservant,” Ning Shu made her stance clear; otherwise, she’d end up dealing with every little trivial matter in the future. 𐍂Ã𝐍𝙤BĚś
Yu Liuli looked at the fruit in Ning Shu’s hand, which was neither green nor red and clearly unappetizing, and the corner of her mouth couldn’t help but twitch.
This peacock is way too arrogant. It had already become her contracted divine beast but still didn’t see the situation clearly.
“You are a divine beast, but now you are my contracted divine beast,” Yu Liuli said coldly and dominantly.
Ning Shu spread her jade-like hands which had long slender fingers. “So what?”
“Although you are a divine beast, now I can make you die with just a thought,” Yu Liuli said firmly, refusing to back down.
Currently, Yu Liuli and Ning Shu were competing over who held the upper hand in their identities.
“The strong rule. If you defeat me, I’ll do whatever you say,” Ning Shu said as she leaped onto a tree, resting her hands behind her head and lounging leisurely on a branch.
“But don’t forget, I’m the one who contracted you. It’s a master-servant contract. I am the master, and you are the servant,” Yu Liuli said, slightly annoyed.
What do you think?
