Chapter 2961: That’s a Jasper Fruit

Yu Liuli really wanted the jasper fruit, but she knew she couldn’t defeat the guardian beast.

In the end, it would undoubtedly fall to Ning Shu.

Ning Shu was already inwardly cursing.

Yu Liuli said to Ning Shu, “That’s a jasper fruit. It can be refined into a resurrecting jasper pill—a divine medicine for healing wounds, capable of bringing people back to life.”

Ning Shu remained indifferent.

Yu Liuli, full of excitement, flew toward the cliff to grab the jasper fruit.

Just as she was about to pluck it, a wind blade sliced toward her hand.

Yu Liuli dodged the wind blade, which slammed into the cliff and carved a deep gash into the rock.

If that wind blade had struck Yu Liuli, she wouldn’t have walked away unscathed.

A massive eagle stood at the entrance of the cave, its sharp eyes locked on Yu Liuli.

Yu Liuli clung to a jutting rock on the cliff face, her body suspended in midair.

The eagle flapped its wings and launched itself at Yu Liuli. She gripped her dagger tightly, engaging in a fierce struggle with the bird.

Yu Liuli’s current strength was limited, and she barely managed to fend off the eagle’s relentless attacks.

Ning Shu watched indifferently from the side. As long as Yu Liuli’s life wasn’t in danger, she had no intention of stepping in.

As long as Yu Liuli didn’t die, Ning Shu would be fine.

If Yu Liuli ended up with broken arms or legs, that wasn’t her problem.

Yu Liuli’s expression was tense and stubborn. She pushed forward without once asking Ning Shu for help. Since Yu Liuli didn’t call for her, Ning Shu wasn’t about to stick her nose in.

The eagle’s sharp, hooked beak pecked Yu Liuli’s hand, drawing blood that dripped down immediately. She let out a muffled groan of pain.

“If you keep standing there doing nothing, don’t blame me for not bothering to be polite!” Yu Liuli shouted at Ning Shu, her face pale.

This divine beast probably wasn’t a flower peacock after all—it must be a toad, only responding when prodded. It had no sense of self-awareness as a contracted divine beast.

Ning Shu finally flew over to Yu Liuli, kicked the giant eagle aside, and wrapped an arm around Yu Liuli’s waist.

“The jasper fruits,” Yu Liuli reminded Ning Shu.

Still holding Yu Liuli by the waist, Ning Shu flew toward the cluster of jasper fruits.

The eagle’s wings quivered in midair, seemingly intimidated by the overwhelming aura emanating from Ning Shu.

But when it saw Ning Shu reaching for the jasper fruits, the eagle let out a furious screech and charged at her.

With a casual wave of her hand, Ning Shu sent the attacking eagle flying. Plucking two jasper fruits, she said calmly to the eagle, “There are five jasper fruits. I left you three.”

The eagle let out a piercing cry but didn’t dare get any closer.

Still holding Yu Liuli, Ning Shu descended gracefully to the ground.

Yu Liuli stared at Ning Shu’s face, momentarily dazed. Ning Shu let go of her, snapping her out of her trance. She quickly snatched the jasper fruits from her hand. ŗἈΝỐ𝐁Ε𝘚

The jasper fruits felt cold and soothing in her palm, their touch immediately calming her.

“There were five jasper fruits. Why did you only take two?” Yu Liuli asked, her tone sharp with frustration.@@novelbin@@

Her hand was still bleeding from the eagle’s attack, and all they managed to get were two jasper fruits.

“Why should I take all five?” Ning Shu replied lazily. “I only need to keep you alive. I never said I’d take care of everything for you.”

“You could’ve taken all five jasper fruits. Why leave three? It’s not like you couldn’t beat that eagle,” Yu Liuli said, her voice rising with anger. “Aren’t you a divine beast? You can’t even beat a bird that can’t take human form?”

“Don’t try to provoke me. Two jasper fruits are enough, stop being ungrateful,” Ning Shu replied indifferently.

Yu Liuli took a deep breath. This damn bird didn’t seem to realize how precious the jasper fruits were, taking only two of them.
