Chapter 3001: Lifespan Was Determined by the Heavens
Ning Shu handed the longevity pills to Yu Xiongfie. “The second time you use these pills, the life extension will be only half of the first. Consuming more after that won’t increase your lifespan further.”
Lifespan was determined by the heavens. To infinitely increase it by consuming pills was simply unrealistic.
Yu Xiongfie accepted the pills. “This is already great. If I can’t break through even after this, then that’s just my fate.”
“Make sure to gather the materials I asked for as soon as possible,” Ning Shu reminded him.
After that, Ning Shu immersed herself in cultivation, rarely leaving her room.
She aimed to prepare herself for the heavenly tribulation. In her spare time, she went out to gather talisman paper and cinnabar.
Cutting her finger, she mixed her blood with the cinnabar to prepare for drawing talismans.
Focusing her energy in her dantian, Ning Shu mobilized her spiritual energy to begin crafting talismans.
However, footsteps suddenly echoed from the doorway. Ning Shu quickly stashed everything under the bed and lay down on it.
Yu Liuli entered the room, sniffed the air, and walked over to Ning Shu’s bed. “Why is there the smell of blood?”Ning Shu opened her eyes. “What do you mean? I don’t smell anything.”
“I’m very sensitive to the smell of blood,” Yu Liuli insisted, sniffing again.
“Alright, fine. I didn’t want to tell you, but…,” Ning Shu sighed helplessly, “I went into qi deviation and coughed up blood.”
Yu Liuli looked skeptical. “Really?”
Ning Shu nodded. “Really.”
“I’ve heard you’ve been hanging around my grandfather a lot lately,” Yu Liuli said, her expression turning cold.
Ning Shu’s expression remained unchanged. “Who told you that?”
“There’s no smoke without fire. What are you scheming?” Yu Liuli questioned sharply.
“What could I possibly be scheming? I went into qi deviation and asked your grandfather for some ice heart pills,” Ning Shu said.
“Besides, I’m your contracted beast. I can’t do anything that is harmful towards you.” Ning Shu’s tone was calm as she argued her case.
Yu Liuli frowned deeply. “I don’t trust you.”
“If you don’t trust me, there’s nothing I can do,” Ning Shu replied nonchalantly, her expression practically saying, up to you whether you believe or not.
“How did you go into qi deviation?” Yu Liuli asked, changing the subject.
Ning Shu simply said, “I guess after seeing the wonders of the human world, my heart isn’t as pure as it used to be.”
“I see you’re quite enjoying yourself among the flowers,” Yu Liuli sneered disdainfully.
Ning Shu felt completely wrongly accused. “When did I ever linger among the flowers?”
Heaven and earth bear witness—although her body belonged to a man, her core was that of a woman! How could she possibly do something as vile as ravaging flowers?
“Then why were you so happy when those women were looking at you?” Yu Liuli retorted. “You even waved at them. Do you really think you’re some kind of heartthrob?”
Ning Shu spread her hands. “What am I supposed to do if they want to look at me? Gouge out their eyes?”
Yu Liuli let out a cold laugh, her disdain evident.
Ning Shu: …
What, should I just stare at you all day instead?
“You’d better not let me find out you’re conspiring with my grandfather. I suspect it was he who sent people to assassinate me that night,” Yu Liuli said, her tone frosty.
So Yu Liuli had also started to suspect Yu Xiongfeng.
Family turning against family, yet strictly speaking, Yu Liuli was no longer part of the Yu lineage or Yu Xiongfeng’s granddaughter.
Ning Shu nodded. “I understand.”
“Do you have pills on you?” Yu Liuli’s expression turned serious as she asked.
Ning Shu was confused. “What pills?”
“That’s what I’m asking you.” Yu Liuli’s tone hinted at some excitement.
“What kind of pills are you talking about?” Ning Shu asked, still puzzled.
After a moment of silence, Yu Liuli said, “The kind that can repair the soul.”
Ning Shu: Holy crap…
What do you think?
