Chapter 10 - A Monkey with a Thunder God’s Mouth!

Chapter 10 A Dream to the Sand Country, At the Western Sea, A Monkey with a Thunder God’s Mouth!

“The dragon vein is dead, and with it, life itself; within a hundred miles, there is no future. The Sand Country, just a few dozen miles from here, is doomed.”

“The karmic weight of millions of lives perishing. Any other demon would have been struck by lightning by now. Only the Golden-Winged Great Peng can withstand it.”

“A natural prodigy, its background is no weaker than Sun Wukong’s. As the Buddha’s brother-in-law, even Spirit Mountain must respect it as a guardian. I can’t compare to that!”

Sighing, the Yellow Wind King pondered. Although they were merely neighbors, he decided to help as much as he could. He entered the dreams of the Sand Country’s king.

He then selected one minister, one scholar, one merchant, one farmer, and one beggar—and entered their dreams, urging them to leave quickly and seek new lands.

Once finished, he gripped his black iron spear, steeled his resolve, and headed west. Heaven helps those who help themselves—this was also his fight for survival. Shortly after he left a red-scaled python, as thick as a barrel, slithered out from the Hidden Dragon Cave.

In the distant mountains, a gigantic striped tiger stood atop a cliff, roaring as fierce winds howled around it. Its tiger skin split open from its back—it was transforming!

Though the dragon vein was dead, the scattered dragon energy nourished some creatures, awakening their intelligence and turning them into demons.

Nature endures!

The Flowing Sand River raged wildly, its muddy waves crashing.

“Eight hundred miles of shifting sands, three thousand fathoms of weak water. Even a feather cannot float; even reeds sink straight to the bottom.”

At this time—the Curtain Lifting General had not yet descended as a demon. There was still a ferry run by a demon king, allowing demons from both continents to cross. The Yellow Wind King exchanged a magical sword for a boat ticket.

Once he crossed the Flowing Sand River, he entered Western Ox Continent. Compared to Southern Jambudvipa, this land was even more untamed—desolate and devoid of human presence. By day, he traveled through mountains and valleys.

By night, he trained under the moon, absorbing lunar essence. When thirsty, he drank from mountain springs. When hungry, he devoured raw flesh and blood. In his spare time, he practiced archery and spear techniques, studied manuals, and refined his magical artifacts.

Traveling alone, the Yellow Wind King had no burdens. He took his time—covering only 30 to 40 miles per day. After a month, he arrived at Longevity Mountain.

Towering peaks loomed, their majestic heights piercing the heavens. Immortals traversed the skies. Sacred beasts roamed freely. Golden clouds stretched endlessly. Mystical auras shimmered like thousand-fold rainbows.

He hid his aura and did not dare provoke anything, instead choosing to circle around the mountain. Half a year later, he finally saw the Boundless Western Sea!

Following the river upstream The Yellow Wind King disguised himself as a hunter, donning a bamboo hat and veiled scarf, as he entered a small town.

Immediately, he overheard a conversation.

“Did you hear? The people in the next town fished something out of the sea—a monkey with a thunder god’s mouth and a hairy face!”

“They say it can speak like a human.”

“A talking monkey? That’s nothing special. This is Western Ox Continent—have you ever seen a shortage of demons, ghosts, or spirits?”

“But that monkey calls itself the Handsome Monkey King. It crossed the great ocean, searching for an immortal master.”

The Yellow Wind King froze.

Handsome Monkey King? Seeking a master?

Who else could it be?

Sun Wukong has arrived!

The Yellow Wind King’s eyes lit up.

A golden opportunity! How could he not latch onto this?

He quickly invited the two men for drinks, asking for more details. Apparently, this event had just happened yesterday.

Excited, the Yellow Wind King rushed to the neighboring town. After further inquiries, he learned the townspeople, fearing that the monkey was an ill omen, pointed him toward the mountains, sending him away. After determining which direction the monkey had taken he raced after him without delay.

A few days later, as the Yellow Wind King traversed the wilderness—a thunderous tiger roar echoed through the mountains. Trees crashed down. A battle was underway. He leaped onto a high ridge—gazing into the distance, about a mile away. There, he saw a striped white tiger demon lunging fiercely, clashing with a lean monkey. The tiger was massive, its aura ferocious.

With every movement, trees were uprooted, its claw strikes sending boulders tumbling down. However, the monkey was incredibly nimble, darting back and forth unscathed. Not once did the tiger land a hit. The Yellow Wind King hurried closer, covering dozens of feet in each stride. Then, he called out, “Is the Handsome Monkey King up ahead?”

The monkey turned its head.

“Who’s calling me?”

Down in the valley, the monkey’s heart jolted upon hearing the title ‘Handsome Monkey King’.

Turning his head—he leaped onto a tree, avoiding the tiger’s strike.

With his golden eyes glowing, he scanned the landscape. His gaze landed on a veiled hunter in a bamboo hat and long robe, gripping a spear, an arrow quiver strapped to his waist.

Who was this person?

The Handsome Monkey King was puzzled. He had never met this individual before. At that moment, The hunter raised his spear and pointed, shouting, “I’ll help you!”

Without hesitation, he planted his spear in the ground, drew his Bone Bow, nocked a Razor-Sharp Arrow, and aimed at the tiger demon.

“ROAR!”

Sensing danger, the tiger turned to flee.

SWISH!

A thunderous boom rang out. The Razor-Sharp Arrow shot forward—like a black lightning bolt, cutting through air and trees alike. Infused with demonic energy, bathed in moonlight and golden radiance, it crackled with electricity as it raced toward its target.

SPLAT!

In an instant, the arrow pierced the tiger’s stomach, exploding violently, sending blood and flesh flying.

_____

The wounded tiger howled, collapsing to the ground. But demons have tenacious lifeforce. It still struggled.

The Yellow Wind King grabbed his black iron spear, hurled it like a javelin.

WHOOSH!

The three-restriction black iron spear streaked like a bolt of thunder, impaling the tiger’s skull, pinning it to the ground.
