Chapter 2446: Counter
The ladybug and the tiger duo ran through cities one by one.
Soon, it was turn for city guarded by Vidyuth. The leader was still playing his stupid power game and placed Vidyuth on some supporting task with the defense formation. Even though, he wasn’t bad with the formations, it was not his expertise after all.
However, Vidyuth decided to take advantage of this and complete his mission.
So, while awaiting the tiger to visit his city, and his teammates were all in a state of panic, receiving one notification after other about the destruction of the cities, Vidyuth moved around to make his preparations.
In that short time, he managed to interact with every node of the defense formation.
He attacked some special tokens that he collected from hub beforehand. Once the tokens were placed, all that was left was the arrival of the tiger.
It did come sooner than most people expected.
*ROAR*
The tiger arrogantly appeared through the spatial tear. As the battles passed and it tore these people apart, the tiger felt extremely conceited and content with its own prowess. Sam’s bloodline enhancement did work wonders.
At the same time, the massive collar that should have been a symbol of its submission, actually turned out to be an enhancement to its strength.
It helped defend its body and the shadow undead that came from the ladybug that sits on its collar, acted as its minions. At least that’s what the tiger felt and it displayed that haughtiness very much.
It went into a rampage immediately. Bodies fell left and right. And the panic that already clouded everyone since morning, finally took over. People started abandoning their posts and ran. This wasn’t even the first city, things like this happened.

It has been a fairly common occurrence throughout the whole conquest.
*BAM*
That’s when Vidyuth made his move.
With a purple clap of thunder, he landed in the middle of the city, a few hundred meters away from the tiger and the shadow undead.
The tiger looked at Vidyuth felt a bit uneasy. Because except for the first city, all the tiger saw in the eyes of the people was the confusion, fear, anxiety and desperation. For the first time, he saw confidence.
It tried to brush off the discomfort and make its move.
But before it could leap forward.
*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*
The claps of thunder intensified. The defensive formation changed. The nodes transformed with runic engravings appearing on it. The previously translucent dome, changed and became a dome of darkness. @@novelbin@@
And from within the darkness, emerged clouds carrying the purple lightning. Among those clouds, Vidyuth hovered. His body achieved the fusion form and he looked down on everyone as if he was the lord of the sky and lightning.
The lightning clouds rumbled.
*BAM*
At a single moment, a bunch of lightning bolts stuck down, hitting many locations at the same time. However, the locations weren’t far away and they weren’t even focused on the tiger or the ladybug.
Instead, they were all focused near the fresh dead bodies.
The bodies were hit, broke apart and charred to dust. Along with that however, the small glowing mosquitos along with the black light they carried died as well and they left no traces of their presence.
*ROAR*
The tiger didn’t understand what was happening. But it did know one thing. Whatever Vidyuth did, it effected the collar a bit.
It didn’t want the collar to lose its purpose and got ready to attack him. However, Vidyuth didn’t engage. He dodged its strike, disappeared into the clouds. He reappeared far away from his original location, almost at the other end of the city.
*BAM*
Another batch of attacks. The lightning bolts stuck and this time, they went for the shadow undead. Once again, he didn’t focus on the tiger.
The rest of the academy members, felt a bit stumped. They didn’t know what Vidyuth was doing, they didn’t understand how this was going to help. After all, the lightning didn’t appear that powerful despite being augmented on the formation of the city.
The only advantage it seemed to have was providing mobility for Vidyuth and also covering a large area.
However, they didn’t wreck their puny brains, thinking too much. Instead, they understood something spectacularly at their own level. This gave them a opening.
They noticed that the tiger has focused on Vidyuth and didn’t care about their presence. So, they took advantage of this situation and decided to escape one after the other. Luckily for them, the weird mosquitos and the ladybug didn’t target them. They stuck around the tiger moved along just like the undead.
*BAM* *BAM*
Vidyuth became more frequent with his attacks. He shattered the undead and destroyed any mosquitos that flew out. He didn’t hit the ladybug and the tiger.
Minutes passed like that and Vidyuth started panting at almost half an hour mark. By now, everyone was stunned and watched Vidyuth with their eyes widened.
He had been hovering over the clouds passing judgement.
After around thirty two minutes, something finally happened. The escapees who were witnessing the scene saw a change.
The shadow undead, suddenly disappeared. Their number reduced with each passing strike.
After around ten strikes, the undead disappeared and they noticed that the glow on the tiger’s collar has reduced a lot.
At that moment, Vidyuth finally changed the target. He aimed at the tiger.
*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*
The lightning strikes became relentless. He didn’t even leave a minute of gap. He just kept on striking them down more. The barrier of course helped the tiger. However, Vidyuth just kept his distance and kept on battering it.
Soon, the collar dimmed completely and the barrier disappeared.
The next moment…
All the clouds condensed a single lightning bolt landing in Vidyuth’s hands.
*BAM*
He hit the tiger on its head as it leaped towards him.
The tiger felt its mind go numb and crashed into the ground leaving a crater behind. Its whole body became paralyzed. Vidyuth was about to make a move, but the ladybug reached its collar. It used all of its energy and disappeared along with that tiger.
Vidyuth halted in his tracks, his face contorted in rage as he looked around.
"WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU DOING? YOU COULDN’T HAVE MADE A MOVE EVEN IN THAT STATE?"
He yelled without any reservation and the lightning clouds rumbled. He shifted along with them to outside of the city and got ready to slam them down.
But he sighed and stopped. He looked exhausted as he landed on the ground. He looked at the crowd and said.
"What are you guys looking at?"
They all had their eyes wide open. Vidyuth did it. He really did it. Something that they weren’t able to do and lost hundreds in process, Vidyuth did it.
"We won."
One of them said out loud, bringing everyone back to their senses.
"Yes, we did. We won."
Another one said out loud. Grins plastered their faces and everyone cheered out loud. They were about to raise Vidyuth into the air, but he resisted and walked away. A grin appeared on his face too. Not of his victory, but because of their stupidity.
Meanwhile, back in a corner forest of the planet.
Sam looked at the tiger that just appeared. He had a faint smile on his face as he slowly and gently healed it back to its condition.
"You did a great job."
He patted it on the head.
It didn’t reply and just stayed still. Usually, the tiger should have been able to defeat Vidyuth. In fact, if it went on for a while, it might have managed to score a hit or two and Vidyuth might have lost his energy reserves.
But it didn’t check its own barrier and jumped it. The amplification of formation and the final full powered attack, got it.
Still, when it came back alive and well, it didn’t feel anything. It just meekly allowed Sam to heal it.
Sam carefully removed its collar and said.
"You won’t need it for now.
You helped me out a lot. You join the rest and stay there."
Sam waved his hand and sent it into the Divine dimension.
Then, he left the realm and went back to the academy realm. He decided to stay in the station for a couple of days. While the word of his ’defeat’ spread far and wide. He even asked Ling Tian to fan the flames.
He made them exaggerated and the achievement of the Zeus academy which should have been but a small thing has been blown out of proportions.
At first, the Zeus academy members were happy. But soon, they realized they screwed up. All they did was defeat a pet and a toy of Sam and he didn’t even get involved in the fight.
So, what if he got pissed because of the rumors? As soon as that thought brewed in their heads, Sam announced his next challenge to the Zeus academy.
What do you think?
