Re: Player

Chapter 291 [Real or Fake… it doesn't matter!]

Laplace looked at that attack as his mind raced for all the possible solutions he could find to get out of this madness. There were dozens of methods for that still, but right now, he had another important question that he must find out the answer to.

And that was…

'Why aren't those commands working?'

He was most interested in that. Commands aren't your everyday normal magic. They were special authorities that were granted to a Fate Weaver by the Primordials to use. It was something that Laplace despised the most since this cheat power was one of the main reasons that he could never go against the Primordials.

But now that there was someone that could bypass those same [Commands], made Laplace feel as if an entire new world was opened up to him. He wanted to learn about it, he wanted to know that way to break through the commands, the way to break through those Primordial's most potent weapons.

At this point, Laplace even forgot about Adam. All his focus was on Neptune, his eyes trying to analyze his movements as he kept speaking,

[Command: Cancel!]

[Command: Cancel!]

[Command: Cancel!]

[Command: Cancel!]

[Command: Cancel!]

It wasn't out of desperation that he wanted to erase Neptune's attack but because he wanted to find out the way by which Neptune was able to neglect his command. And, in fact, the more he used his command, the more Laplace eyes glistened with joy.

-BOOOOM!!!!!

The sword was hit, and it reached the area where Laplace was. And instead of creating a loud explosion that destroyed everything in its vicinity, the attack was contained within a small globe shaped area with Laplace as it's center. Inside of it, there were hundreds of thousands of attacks, occurring over and over, mincing everything inside of it, down to the last bits of the atoms.

Though Neptune's eyes looked to the side, at the area where Laplace had escaped, teleported. To be precise, it wasn't teleportation but an exchange of persons of sorts.

Laplace had exchanged his place with one of his generals, sacrificing his pawn, while his eyes kept narrowed at Neptune.

"Your brother destroyed everything that I had built up until now. All the plans I have made over the millenia were gone down the drain because of your brother's interference," Laplace struck a conversation with Neptune while he tried to recollect a bit of his own power.

"I have suffered throughout the ages, over and over. I can't die, I can't live. I have no one that I could call a family and even if I were to make any connection with anyone, they will just die over time. Don't you dare act as if you are a righteous being, Neptune. What your brother did was out of his OWN selfishness to save the world. What I did was MY selfishness," Laplace spoke as he recollected the rest of his energy. His body mostly healed now, while Neptune sighed as he asked,

"So instead of fighting the one that you are afraid of, you decided to destroy everything else instead? My brother protected those who he held dear to. His selfish desire was an act of kindness, while yours was simply to fill your own empty pride. One that needs to be filled by gaining an upper hand against the ones that you loathe."

Laplace turned silent before he narrowed his eyes at Neptune and then spoke with a serious voice," it wasn't pride, Neptune. It was kindness, too. One that I was doing on myself, one that I was achieving by ending my own life in the process."

Both of them paused as they gaugued each other.

The onlookers observed their exchange, as they all stood there wondering what would happen next. Neptune was strong, but Laplace didn't seem like he was going to be defeated anytime soon. That guy had too many tricks up his sleeve.

Though… Neptune sighed before he asked,

"Kindness? End your life? You can't even bring yourself out here. The fact that you sent your clone to do your dirty work was already cheap… and now that you talk about self sacrifice. Don't make me laugh, kid."

And this… shocked everyone present on the battlefield. They couldn't believe Neptune's words, as he observed Laplace, whose expression slowly shifted from a serious one to a one that had a heavy grin.

"When did you notice?" He asked, carrying the same grin while Neptune answered," from the very beginning."

Far far away from the battlefield, in a deep dungeon, within the deepest pits of hell. In a prison that contained the most powerful beings of this world, there sat a being at the edge of the prison, in the lowest cell.

A smile formed on his face as he looked at Neptune through his clone. His eyes glowed red, as he mildly transferred a small portion of his consciousness to his clone and then laughed through it,

"Bwahahahahaha…. You actually saw through me? Not even the first was able to do so. Interesting! How very interesting! Seems like the mortal world has become much more fun while I was imprisoned."

"Probably. But… now that we are done with the small talk… how about I deliver the punishment to you now?" Neptune spoke as he then slowly took out one of the 5 rings in his hand and…

-BOOOOOOOM!!!!!

A huge amount of mana, much higher than the Gods and the devils could be felt from him. And then he took out another one of his rings, and the mana increased even more, threatening the very reality of the surroundings.

Then concentrating all that mana in his sword somehow, Neptune looked at Laplace, as if observing the one in the prison. His eyes focused, he then spoke,

"Since you were still unable to touch my brother, this time a single slash should suffice."

And Laplace, for the first time in this war, had an ominous feeling against the man standing in front of him. His eyes shook before he hurriedly cut off the connection between him and the clone.

While it should have been impossible for Neptune to attack Laplace…

"No… I must have been imagining it-"

It was then, Laplace, the real one, felt a sting in his chest. A sting that soon spread to his abdomen, before splitting open his front diagonally.

"Huh?"

-Thud!

And Laplce, unable to understand the events, soon fell sideways as his body began heavily bleeding, barely able to hold itself together. With the curse of immortality, he should be still alive… but he was an immortal and not an omniscient being who couldn't feel pain.

"AAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"

And finally… the screams of Laplace spread throughout the Hell Prison, sending a chill to other prisoners that were staying there, making them wonder what happened. Enjoy new tales from My Virtual Library Empire

But there was no one to aid him, as his two halves continuously bled, making him feel pain all over his body as he slowly tried reattaching him using the feeble magic that he could mustus in this prison.

"If you really want to die someday… you can come find me. I shall end you in any way you desire."

And then a thought landed in his mind, making him close his eyes in pain, before he mustered enough courage and then shouted…

"NEPTUNE!!!!! I WILL KILL YOU!!!!!! JUST YOU WAIT TILL I GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!"
