Chapter 1139: Pill Master
…
Meanwhile, at the coordinates of the Trial Dungeon…
"Ridiculous! Why do we need to wait for another Apothecary when I’m here?! Haishe brat, are you looking down on this old man?" A voiced filled with outraged sounded.
This voice belonged to an old man who was in his later years of life. He was hunched over, exposing his years of poor posture. He mid section of his head was bald; however, he had some white hair going around the outside. The old man had an unfriendly and grumpy expression as he slowly stroked his thin white beard.
"Elder Pill Master, the agreed upon time has not yet been reached. I am sure our final member will arrive soon." Haishe said respectfully with a smile.
"What final member?! If I say we should go, then we should go! Youngins these days sure know how to talk back to their elders! Back in my day, we respected our elders and followed their words as the law itself! Hmph!" The old man, Pill Master, scowled.
A cold look flashed through Haishe’s eyes. But, he quickly buried it and maintained his smile.
"I mean no disrespect, elder. It is just that I would rather have more cards to play when the time comes." Haishe stated calmly.
"Cards this, cards that! You young people just lack spirit!" Pill Master scolded.

"This old man is so arrogant... Why did the leader invite him?" One of the members of Fatal Touch, a young man by the name of Blue Quill whispered to the player next to him.
"That old man may be arrogant, but he at least has the skill to back it up. He recently just got promoted to a grade three Apothecary. As you know, the number of grade three Apothecaries in RML can probably be counted using one’s hands alone." The young man next to Blue Quill, another member of Fatal Touch by the name of Iron Cauldron replied.
"A grade three Apothecary...?! That explains why the leader is acting this way. Even after putting in so much effort, we’re both still stuck at being grade two Apothecaries. If he’s really a grade three Apothecary, then he’s worthy of our respect. How did the leader manage to find and invite someone like him?" Blue Quill questioned.
"The leader has many connections all over. How can we understand his means?" Iron Cauldron sighed as he shook his head.
As Pill Master was voicing his frustrations, the sound of someone approaching could be heard in the near distance.
Haishe glanced over and saw a familiar face heading their way.
"Elder Pill Master, please, excuse me. I have to greet our final member." Haishe said as he briefly cupped his fists before walking away.
"You-! Hmph! Fine, this old man wants to see who dared to keep him waiting!" Pill Master huffed.
’Oh? Without the coordinates, this place would have been difficult to pinpoint.’
Izroth reached the coordinates given to him by Haishe. He observed the surroundings using his Energy Vision Sense and did not detect anything out of the ordinary.
’I suppose it isn’t a trap.’
Of course, Izroth knew that the chances of this being a trap were extremely low. After all, using a favor he granted with the name of the Mystical Realm Palace on the line as a mere means to set a trap for him would be too foolish.
Nevertheless, Izroth did not trust Haishe and Fatal Touch.
’Before the Trial Dungeon is over, I need to find out whether or not they have a connection to the shadahi. If it turns out they do have a connection to those creatures, then I need to uncover their goal before completely uprooting them.’
"Welcome, Palace Master Izroth. I’m glad you could make it. I was a bit worried you wouldn’t come after not replying to my previous messages for so long." Haishe said as he walked up to greet Izroth.
"Since it was something I agreed to, naturally, I will keep my word." Izroth said nonchalantly.
"Indeed, Palace Master Izroth is a man of his word." Haishe followed up.
He then said, "I also want to let Palace Master Izroth know that what happened last time was outside of my control. Now that the main culprit of that situation has been taken care of, I hope Palace Master Izroth won’t think too harshly of me and my Fatal Touch."
Of course, Haishe was referring to the incident where Silent Steps and a group of players from Fatal Touch hunted down Luna and her friends.
While Luna was able to survive thanks to her voice magic and quick thinking, all of her friends had been done in by Silent Steps and Fatal Touch. If Izroth and Azalea had not arrived in time, it’s likely that Luna would have followed in the footsteps of her friends.
At that time, Haishe was present; however, he and those he bought with him did not make a move to help Silent Steps. If they did, it was unlikely that Luna would have been able to survive long enough for Izroth and Azalea to save her.
It was only because of this reason and the fact that Silent Steps had been removed from Fatal Touch that Izroth continued to allow their existence and agreed to Haishe’s request for this Trial Dungeon.
"Having dared to go after one of my people, I and Fatal Touch can never be friends in this lifetime. However, so long as you continue to bear no ill intentions, at the very least, we will not be enemies." Izroth stated firmly.
Even if Haishe was not directly responsible for what happened, in the end, he was still there that day and a member of Fatal Touch.
Izroth could overlook many things. But, going after someone under his protection was not one of them. That being said, Izroth was not against second chances. Since Haishe and Fatal Touch responded well to what happened during that time, even though he would never became friends or allies with them, he would at least not consider them an enemy. Of course, for this to stand, Izroth first had to confirm whether or not they had ties to the shadahi.
"Not being enemies is already a step forward. I would not dare show more greed than grace." Haishe responded thankfully.
He then continued, "Now that Palace Master Izroth has arrived, everyone is here. We’ve already prepared everything that’s required, so we can head right into the Trial Dungeon without delay. But, before that, I believe brief introductions are in order."
〈System Alert: You have been invited to join a Expanded Party[Current Members: 7][Party Leader: Haishe], would you like to accept?〉
〈System Alert: Player Izroth has joined the Expanded Party!〉
Izroth accepted Haishe’s party invite as everyone went on to give their introductions.
"Since everyone here is already familiar with me, I will skip my introductions." Haishe stated.
"Hmph, everyone already knows this old man, so I won’t stand on ceremony." Pill Master said as he waved his hand in a shooing motion.
"I’m called Blue Quill. I’m a grade two Apothecary from Fatal Touch." Blue Quill said.
"I go by Iron Cauldron. I’m also a grade two Apothecary from Fatal Touch. I look forward to working with Elder Pill Master and the rest of you." Iron Cauldron stated as he cupped his fists and gave a slight bow to Pill Master.
’Pill Master?’
There was actually someone who walked around with such an arrogant name? Even Worldly Skies, someone who had become a grade four Apothecary, did not dare refer to herself as Pill Master. Even more so in front of someone like Izroth!
A gleeful smile formed on Pill Master’s face as he said, "Mm, good. There are still some young people with sense in your generation. Little Iron, I’ll allow you to accompany this old man for a week or two after this is over. Whether you can learn anything or not, you will have to rely on your own abilities."
"Thank you, Elder Pill Master!" Iron Cauldron said excitedly as he quickly expressed his thanks.
"Tsk, damn it, why didn’t I also suck up a bit...?" Blue Quill muttered regretfully under his breath.
As the moment passed, the rest of the players present continued to introduce themselves.
"My name is Mystic Lock. I’m also a member of Fatal Touch. I’m here to deal with any traps and provide protection for the Apothecaries." A young man who appeared to be in his late teens said.
"I’m Autumn Winds. While I am not a member of Fatal Touch, brother Haishe has treated me well in the past and I am here to repay the favor. I will be our party’s supporter. I hope we all get along well." A young woman stated.
"I am called Steel Mountain!" A burly man announced as he beat his chest, "I’m a man of Fatal Touch and as long as I’m here, I won’t let anything harm a single hair on your heads!"
"Izroth. I have no time waste here. So, let’s get this over with." Izroth said as he looked over at Haishe.
What do you think?
