Chapter 7: Rapid Surge In Strength!

"Chi!"

"I hope I don't get infected by this," Lucian mumbled while removing the stone spear stabbed deep in his chest, and immediately, his bones reconnected as his cells regenerated. In just a few seconds, all the injuries had closed up as though they were never there!

Lucian surveyed the carnage around him, his nostrils flaring at the coppery-sweet scent of Lizardman blood pooling on the forest floor.

The liquid seemed to be calling to him as it moved through the forest ground.

He opened his status to review the changes:

"Not a bad fight. But I need to be more careful and not be careless like that," he mused, rolling his shoulders.

The sensation was peculiar—his body felt simultaneously lighter and more substantial, as if he occupied space more definitively than before.

The stat boosts were modest individually, but their cumulative effect was noticeable. If he could accumulate more kills, his power would grow exponentially.

Especially with the potential to grow stronger the more damage he received.

Each Lizardman minion granted just 10 experience points each, totaling 60 points. Just 4 more, and he would level up.

However, it was still a long while before he would be able to get a chance at another reroll. He wanted to see if he could reroll his strength directly!

Imagine rerolling his strength from 8 directly to 10,000! That would be unimaginably strong!

Lucian was starting to get excited, as though he had just seen the naked figure of a young lady.

Calming himself down, he glanced at the system's timer hovering at the edge of his vision:

Over an hour had passed since he'd entered the trial, leaving him plenty of time to complete his objective. The encounter with the patrol had been swift. Hence, the other patrols shouldn't be alerted.

If what he had been taught in class was true, then on the first floor, there were about ten patrol teams around the Lizardmen's encampment.

Then about 50 Lizardmen warriors protected the encampment and their king. The Lizardmen warriors were even stronger and scarier than the Lizardmen sentries.

If he wanted to get close to kill the Lizardmen king, he needed to get stronger, and if he wanted to get stronger, he needed to take out the patrol teams quietly, or he would be overwhelmed by the crowd of Lizardmen.

Lucian carefully moved closer and was able to finally see the encampment.

The encampment was about 500 meters away from the clearing. It was a small village with huts made from sticks, stones, and the bones of their enemies.

Smoke rose from a central fire in a thick, greasy column that stained the sky. The faint sound of hissing voices carried on the wind.

While he could directly head into the encampment and farm for stat points, it was simply too dangerous.

He didn't survive death twice just to die after receiving such a miraculous talent.

With one patrol team gone, he needed to hurry in wiping out the other patrol teams.

However, he had randomly come across this patrol team and didn't know where the rest were stationed.

An idea suddenly surfaced in his mind. Lucian headed back into the forest and, with a few leaps that ordinary humans couldn't comprehend, climbed the body of a 30-meter-tall tree.

With his increase in physique, his sense of smell, hearing, and eyesight had improved greatly.

As long as there was no obstruction, he could see a distance of up to 500 meters with vivid and clear details without missing a single pattern.

Using the settlement as a guide, he looked around the environment of the settlement and immediately spotted his next target.

Not quite far from him was a group of Lizardmen, drinking and resting at the edge of a stream not quite far from the settlement.

"Finally!"

A cold smile instantly appeared on Lucian's face as he released his grip on the tree.

"Thump!"

He landed heavily but steadily on the ground as he instantly ran towards the position. And just like before, he neared his prey with quiet and precise steps, not wanting to startle them into calling for reinforcements.

Repeating the same process as earlier, Lucian blurred forward with an incredible burst of energy as he attacked the Lizardman closest to him.

"BOOM!"

His spear blasted the first Lizardman away like a hammer as it sprang towards the chest of the second Lizardman, compressing his chest inside of him, killing him immediately.

Lucian was like a tank as he went through them as though they were nothing.

In just a few moves, he killed the entire patrol team while tanking their attacks as though it were nothing.
