“Wukong, I won’t make a move later. If you find yourself unable to withstand and want to escape, you can break through where I am!”

A voice transmission fell into Wukong’s ears. He raised his eyebrows and looked towards Guanyin Bodhisattva, who was sitting diagonally opposite him. He could tell that the voice transmission was from Guanyin Bodhisattva. Seeing Wukong looking at her, Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded slightly and gave Wukong a meaningful glance.

“It seems the Bodhisattva is siding with me; this makes things easier!”

Wukong was secretly delighted. To be honest, he didn’t want to be enemies with Guanyin Bodhisattva. In his past life, Guanyin Bodhisattva had helped him a lot. Even though it was all for the Buddhist Sect’s mission of retrieving scriptures, he could feel whether her care was genuine — if there was anyone within the Buddhist Sect towards whom Wukong truly felt affection, it was only Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Guanyin Bodhisattva had made a pact with Flower-Fruit Mountain to help them as much as possible and to forge goodwill with Flower-Fruit Mountain on a personal basis, but at the time, Wukong was unconscious, and all these matters were relayed to him through Leng Xuan. He had always been skeptical, but now, having received Guanyin’s private message, Wukong was sure that Guanyin Bodhisattva truly sided with them from Flower-Fruit Mountain.

“Isn’t that Wukong, the Beautiful Monkey King of Flower-Fruit Mountain? Your Majesty, forgive my bluntness, but why would the Demon King from Flower-Fruit Mountain be allowed to sit at this Peach of Immortality banquet?”

Wukong knew that Ran Deng Buddha was up to no good. Indeed, before his seat even grew warm, he looked toward Wukong with a feigned smile and started causing trouble.

“The Great Sage Equalling Heaven is the event organizer for this Peach of Immortality banquet. Everything about this feast is managed by him and the Guardian Marshal Nezha the Third Prince. His sitting here is perfectly reasonable. What, does Buddha Ran Deng have objections to this?”

The Queen Mother’s brow furrowed slightly; she was aware of the plotting between Ran Deng Buddha and the Jade Emperor. They were starting to target Wukong!

“Not at all, not at all. I was just wondering why Her Majesty would employ such a demon monkey to manage the Peach of Immortality feast. Can’t the Heavenly Court find anyone else more suitable? Must you rely on a demon monkey who opposes the Heavenly Court?”

Ran Deng Buddha spoke in a light tone, but his words were full of provocation. Wukong’s eyes immediately narrowed, his gaze turning cold as he stared at Ran Deng Buddha — this bald thief clearly came to stir up trouble, and he was eager to see how the Jade Emperor and Ran Deng Buddha would play out this act!

“Ran Deng Buddha, how the Heavenly Court employs people is our business. It seems unnecessary for your Buddhist Sect to point fingers, right?”

The Queen Mother’s face darkened. She knew about the agreement reached between the Jade Emperor and Ran Deng Buddha to confront Wukong at this Peach of Immortality banquet, but she didn’t expect Ran Deng Buddha to be so blatant about it, with malice hardly concealed. Moreover, his words not only trampled over the Heavenly Court but were utterly intolerable!

“Please calm down, Your Highness. I meant no harm. I merely can’t stand seeing a naturally rebellious demon gaining a high position in the Heavenly Court and masquerading under borrowed authority… Wukong, do you dare?”

Ran Deng Buddha also hated Wukong deeply; otherwise, with his years of cultivation and temperament, he would never have spoken so arrogantly.

However, he was arrogant, but Wukong was even more arrogant! Before Ran Deng Buddha could finish speaking, Wukong had already leapt from his seat, rushed up to Ran Deng Buddha, and swung a fierce kick at his face. If this kick connected, Ran Deng Buddha would likely turn into a ground gourd, rolling along the floor until he crashed!

Ran Deng Buddha didn’t expect Wukong to be so hot-tempered. Without a word, Wukong attacked immediately. Caught off guard and unable to dodge in time, Ran Deng could only move his hands to block Wukong’s right leg. In his view, with his Half-Step Saint cultivation strength, even a hasty block should stop Wukong’s kick, especially since Wukong hadn’t used the Jingu Bang.

“Boom!”

“What?”

As the leg and palms connected, Ran Deng Buddha felt an irresistible force as if heaven and earth were overturning, rushing towards him. The palms he threw out were pushed back, striking him instead. He grunted and tumbled backward like a ground gourd, smashing a supporting column in the great hall to pieces, then collided with a wall before finally coming to a stop. A spiderweb of cracks spread from the center of the impact on the wall with Ran Deng Buddha at its center.

“Hiss~!”

A chorus of gasps resounded as all the immortals and gods stared dumbfounded at this scene, feeling as though their brains couldn’t keep up. What in the world was happening? First, Ran Deng Buddha barely sat down before he started provocations, directly targeting the Great Sage Equalling Heaven, Wukong, and even making veiled insults towards the Queen Mother and the entire Heavenly Court. Then Wukong suddenly erupted and kicked Ran Deng Buddha flying. The tumbling pose, the thunderously breaking column, and the cracked wall all demonstrated the terrifying force of Wukong’s kick. Ran Deng Buddha was a Half-Step Saint, and he couldn’t even block a single kick from Wukong?

“Masquerading under borrowed authority? I, Old Sun, wouldn’t stoop to such disgraceful acts! Ran Deng bald donkey, if you wish to be beaten into a pig’s head again, Old Sun is always ready to oblige!”

Sun Wukong retracted his kicked right leg, reached into his ear, and pulled out the Ruyi Golden-Hooped Rod, slamming it onto the ground with a thunderous crash that made the earth tremble. He cast a disdainful, wild glance at Ran Deng Buddha, exuding an air of reckless arrogance!

“Sun Wukong, you, you demon monkey!”

Ran Deng Buddha felt a dull pain in his chest, and the shock he felt was indescribable. How had the monkey’s strength increased so much?

The last time Ran Deng Buddha and Sun Wukong had clashed, Sun Wukong was still a Daluo Golden Immortal. Now, he had reached the Half-Step Saint Realm. Even so, the progression from Daluo Golden Immortal to the Half-Step Saint Realm should have tripled his strength at most; yet, the force behind that kick was more than five times stronger than before!

This demon monkey is too freaking abnormal!

“Impudent!”

The Jade Emperor snapped out of his shock, and immediately let out an angry bellow. Rising from his seat with a slam on the table, he pointed at Sun Wukong and scolded, “Sun Wukong, you’ve got some nerve, daring to commit violence and injure others at the Peach of Immortality banquet!”

“Jade Emperor, who exactly are you, the master of the Heavenly Court or the Buddhist Sect’s lapdog? This bald donkey satirizes until he’s practically pointing and scolding you, claiming you’re incompetent as the Lord of the Heavenly Court. Don’t tell me you couldn’t hear it! Old Sun here was saving face for the Heavenly Court by punishing this insolent bald donkey. It’s one thing for you not to commend me, but to actually protect him, heh! If you want to duck your head and let others mock you, Old Sun can’t swallow this insult!”

Sun Wukong furrowed his brows, unyielding as he locked eyes with the Jade Emperor. His voice was not loud but it clearly reached the ears of every Immortal and God present, causing them to look at the Jade Emperor with somewhat strange eyes, as murmurs started to spread.

“Yes, the reaction of His Majesty the Jade Emperor is quite strange. Shouldn’t he be angry with Ran Deng Buddha?”

“The Great Sage Equalling Heaven is taking action for the face of the Heavenly Court. Shouldn’t His Majesty the Jade Emperor hold back his anger?”

“Ran Deng Buddha is too presumptuous. He thinks nobody in the Heavenly Court can handle him, but, hey, he got slapped in the face, didn’t he? Serves him right!”

Most of the Immortals and Gods didn’t see anything wrong with Sun Wukong’s reaction; indeed, Ran Deng Buddha’s demeanor had been too arrogant. This was the Peach of Immortality banquet, the grandest Buddhist event and the grandest event in all the Three Realms. Such remarks were truly unwise in this setting!

Naturally, a small number of the Immortals and Gods discerned the delicacy of the situation. Their gazes swept over the faces of the Jade Emperor, Sun Wukong, and Ran Deng Buddha a few times, then they swiftly gobbled up the remaining Peaches of Immortality and Immortal Fruits. Given the unusual circumstances, chaos loomed on the horizon, and if they didn’t eat now, they might not have another chance later!

“What nerve you have, Great Sage! Your audacity grows by the day, daring to lecture me now!”

The Jade Emperor turned pale with rage after being rebuked by Sun Wukong. Upon hearing the myriad voices of the Immortals and Gods, his fury and murderous intent surged like fuel on fire. With a stern shout, a wave of imperial authority emanated from him, pressing down on Sun Wukong.

When an ordinary man gets angry, blood splatters five steps; when an emperor rages, corpses lie over a million miles and blood flows for thousands of miles. As the Lord of the Heavenly Court, the Jade Emperor’s imperial authority was many thousand times stronger than that of any mortal emperor!

The moment the imperial authority was unleashed, the gathered Immortals and Gods instantly felt an immense pressure crushing down on them, as if the sky itself was collapsing. This was merely the aftershock, as the main brunt of the imperial authority was directed at Sun Wukong. Although the Jade Emperor, as a Quasi-Saint, might not have the strongest combat power, as the master of the Three Realms, fortified by the Heavenly Dao’s fortune, his pressure far surpassed that of ordinary Quasi-Saints.

“This old Jade Emperor does have some skills, but yet, he’s no match for Old Sun!”

Unfortunately for the Jade Emperor, his imperial authority was like a tickle to Sun Wukong—it had no effect whatsoever. The Chaotic Divine Body feared neither the menace of Heavenly Punishment nor this imperial authority reinforced by the Heavenly Dao’s fortune.

Sun Wukong nonchalantly patted his shoulder, not even sparing the Jade Emperor a glance, and walked step by step towards Ran Deng Buddha, who was getting up from a corner. A sinister smile curled on Sun Wukong’s lips, and the chill in his eyes was like eternal ice, freezing anyone who dared to look.

“Ran Deng you bald donkey, Old Sun didn’t go to Western Heaven Spiritual Mountain to find trouble with you, yet you actually thought Old Sun was afraid of you? Today you’ve come to me, perfect. Let Old Sun settle the old scores with you regarding the Flower-Fruit Mountain!”

Bang!

Blazing Great Sun Golden Flames surged from Sun Wukong’s hand gripping the Ruyi Golden-Hooped Rod, instantly covering the entire rod. With a cold laugh, not waiting for Ran Deng Buddha to reply, he swung the Ruyi Golden-Hooped Rod overhead and struck down fiercely.
