Chapter 311: Chapter 311: Seniors, Please Show Mercy (2nd Update)

“Yo! The kid’s got quite an attitude!”

Coming from a prominent family, the young man burst into laughter as if he had heard the funniest thing ever. He pointed a finger further toward Sun Wukong’s forehead, “Kid, this is Filan City, the territory of Jiang Mu, the young city lord. What’s it to you if I point at you? Do you dare hit me?”

“Swoosh!”

As soon as his words fell, a streak of golden light flashed by, directly severing the right hand that was pointed at Sun Wukong. Blood spurted out.

“Ah~!”

Jiang Mu from the wealthy family was stunned for a moment before letting out a piercing scream. He fell to the ground clutching his amputated arm, his face twisted in pain, “My hand! Kill him, chop him to pieces!”

Seeing the young master injured, the guards’ eyes instantly turned red, and they drew their long sabers and viciously attacked Sun Wukong.

“Jumping clown!”

Sun Wukong sneered, too lazy to even use his Ruyi Golden-Hooped Rod. With a few waves of a single finger, he blocked all the guards’ attacks. The long sabers that struck Sun Wukong’s finger felt as though they had hit a divine weapon. They were not only nicked but the rebounding force sent the guards flying backward. In the blink of an eye, they were sprawled all over the ground, half of their bodies numb, unable to get up.

“This, this…”

Jiang Mu’s face turned deathly pale, fear gleaming in his eyes. He clasped his severed arm, blood still seeping out, his lips trembling, “Don’t come over, stay away from me!”

Sun Wukong stretched out his hand, and a pulling force emerged, directly drawing Jiang Mu in front of him, hovering mid-air as if grasped by an invisible giant hand, completely immobilized. He felt an overwhelming pressure crushing him from all sides.

“Spare me, please…”

Despair flickered in Jiang Mu’s eyes. He had misjudged. Sun Wukong was certainly no minor demon marshal. This time he had kicked an iron plate—a plate that could smash him to death!

“Do you think Old Sun here has any reason to spare you?”

Sun Wukong sneered, ready to crush Jiang Mu into dust. After being attacked by so many immortals and gods in the Heavenly Court, and falling into the Infinite Abyss to endure the torment of space storms, he had been holding back a surge of resentment with nowhere to vent it!

Blind fool, daring to bark orders in front of Old Sun, I’ll wipe you off the face of the earth!

“Esteemed senior, please show mercy! My ignorant son has offended you. Please, for the sake of my Jiang family, spare his life because of his youth and ignorance!”

Just as Sun Wukong was about to intensify the pressure to crush Jiang Mu to death, a cry of urgency came from within the city. A figure shot out and stopped ten feet in front of Sun Wukong, bowing deeply with a face full of sincerity and fear, “Honorable senior, I am Jiang He, the city lord of Filan City. This reckless son of mine is Jiang Mu. He was ignorant and offended your honor, not recognizing Mount Tai. Please, considering the face of the Jiang family, spare him for his youthful ignorance!”

“Youthful ignorance?”

Sun Wukong glanced askance at Jiang Mu in front of him. This guy’s bone age must also be over a thousand years old. Although demons and immortals typically have long lifespans, and a thousand years might not seem much, it’s hardly the same as being young and ignorant. This Jiang He really had the nerve to speak such bold nonsense!

But considering Jiang He is indeed the city lord of Filan City, does that make Jiang Mu the young city lord? No wonder those city gate guards were so subservient upon seeing him.

“Thump!”

Sun Wukong lowered his hand. The force that was binding Jiang Mu dissipated, and he fell harshly onto the ground from three feet in the air. Jiang He hurriedly helped up his son, his face full of distress.

As he looked at his son Jiang Mu’s severing right arm, a flash of pain crossed Jiang He’s eyes, yet he dared not show the slightest anger. Sun Wukong’s presence was profoundly inscrutable; even he couldn’t see through it. With such decisive and merciless actions, this figure of terror was not someone he could afford to provoke. If he truly angered Sun Wukong, not just the Jiang family, but the entire Filan City might suffer a calamitous fate!

“So you are the city lord of Filan City?”

Sun Wukong glanced at Jiang He askance and asked.

“Replying to the senior, I am indeed the city lord. I didn’t know of your esteemed visit, and if there were any offenses, I beg your forgiveness, your vast forgiveness!”

Jiang He hurriedly answered respectfully, not even daring to stop Jiang Mu’s bleeding and heal his injuries.

“Your son spoke disrespectfully and even dared to attack my old self, so I had to teach him a lesson,—City Lord Jiang won’t hold it against me, will he?”

Sun Wukong’s mouth curled into a grin, his expression a blend of amusement as he watched Jiang He.

“I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare. I thank the elder for disciplining my wretched son and preventing him from offending those he shouldn’t have, which might not only cost him his life but also bring trouble to the entire Jiang Family. Jiang He here expresses his deepest gratitude to the elder!”

Jiang He’s heart was bleeding, but his face was filled with a forced smile, not daring to show the slightest displeasure.

“You’re quite the smooth talker, how did you end up with such a son?”

As the saying goes, you don’t hit a man who’s smiling at you. Jiang He’s servile attitude had already greatly reduced Sun Wukong’s anger. After making a jest, Sun Wukong stretched his arm, sucked up Jiang Mu’s severed right arm from the ground, controlled it to fly to the wound, and reattached it. Then, a chaotic-colored light shone at the cut, and Jiang Mu’s arm actually re-joined his body without any sign of a scar. If not for the bloodstain on the ground and Jiang Mu’s pale face, it would be impossible to tell that his arm had been severed.

“Thank you, elder, thank you so much!”

Jiang He’s look towards Sun Wukong was filled even more with awe. Sun Wukong’s ability seemed truly miraculous,—he managed to reattach Jiang Mu’s chopped arm in an instant. Such regenerative magic was against the natural order, Jiang He had never seen anything like it despite his years, and his instinct told him that Sun Wukong’s strength might exceed his expectations; he was a great deity his family must not offend at any cost and must be served well!

“You brat, don’t you hurry up to apologize to the elder, thanking him for sparing your life?”@@novelbin@@

Jiang He glared at the still dazed Jiang Mu and sternly scolded.

Only then did Jiang Mu turn around, moved his right arm a few times, and finding no inconvenience— as if it had never been severed— his awe towards Sun Wukong instantly peaked. He quickly apologized and almost fell to his knees in gratitude.

“Jiang He, right? Your son previously disrespected my old self and I have taught him a lesson. Let’s leave it at that! But I have a few things I’d like to ask you about,— are you willing?”

Sun Wukong waved his hand, obviously not caring for Jiang Mu’s apologies and thanks, but rather eager to quickly ascertain the whereabouts of the Heaven-Defying Demon Emperor Mu Chenxuan and others, as well as how to return from the Demonic Realm to the main world of the Three Realms.

“Willing, of course willing! Whatever the elder wishes to ask, I shall withhold nothing and tell all! However, this isn’t the place for conversation, please allow me the honor of inviting the elder to my residence for a short rest, where I can offer my hospitality and then slowly answer any of your questions, what does the elder think?”

“Fine!”

Sun Wukong nodded. Having been detained in the Endless Abyss and spatial passages for so long without a drop of water or grain of rice, although with his current cultivation strength he didn’t necessarily need food, the cravings of the flesh were hard to give up. It was a good opportunity to taste the cuisine of the Demonic Realm and see how it differed from that of the Three Realms.

Jiang He and Jiang Mu, father and son, led the way, with Sun Wukong following them leisurely into the city. The guards who had been flung away by Sun Wukong eventually recovered from their paralysis, carefully followed, fearing to further provoke Sun Wukong, a being before whom even the Lord of the City had to grin and bear, let alone they who had swung their sabers at him. Chilled to the bone, they felt incredibly lucky to have their lives spared!

“We, we actually tried to stop that elder earlier?”

As Sun Wukong’s figure gradually moved away, the city gate guards finally gulped down their saliva. The two who had initially stopped Sun Wukong paled, their legs nearly giving out just by recalling how they had intercepted such a formidable being and had spoken so disrespectfully, sweat pouring incessantly— it felt like they had walked through Ghost Gate itself.

Following Jiang He and Jiang Mu, father and son, Sun Wukong entered the City Lord’s Mansion. Jiang He immediately arranged for a lavish banquet in the inner mansion to welcome and apologize to Sun Wukong, who, without hesitation, started eating heartily, satisfying his cravings first. Questions about the whereabouts of Bull Demon King and others could wait.

Sun Wukong was not in a hurry, but Jiang He was somewhat restless. Throughout the banquet, he kept stealing glances at Sun Wukong, pondering the reason for his visit to Filan City, yet Sun Wukong was only focused on eating and drinking, showing no intention of asking questions. Jiang He wanted to inquire but feared that a single misstep in his words would enrage Sun Wukong, making him feel like he was sitting on pins and needles.

As for Jiang Mu, the young City Lord had already been scared out of his wits. Throughout the banquet, he kept his head down, not daring to look at Sun Wukong, trying to alleviate his fear with food, completely missing the repeated glances from his father, Jiang He.

Finally, after Sun Wukong had his fill and drank enough, he satisfiedly tossed aside a bone and wiped his mouth. Jiang He hastily had the banquet cleared and replaced with sweet wine, offered two toasts to Sun Wukong, and then hesitantly asked, “Elder, you mentioned earlier that you had some matters you wanted to inquire about from me and my son,— may I know what they are?”

“It’s nothing big.”

Sun Wukong smiled and drained the wine from his cup before speaking lightly, “I merely want to inquire about the whereabouts of a few individuals from City Lord Jiang.”

“May I know who they are?”

“Heaven-Defying Demon Emperor Mu Chenxuan, Bull Demon King, and Six-Eared Macaque,— do you have any news about them?”
