Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Is He a Demon Saint Expert? (Third Update)

“Leave? I never once considered fleeing.”
Sun Wukong shook his head indifferently. Initially, he had no intention of lending a hand; Duanmu Bai had been mocking him all along the way, and neither Huang Zhen nor the other two stood up for him. Only after they reached the Myriad Beast Mountains, when Sun Wukong ceased to tolerate Duanmu Bai and openly confronted him, did Huang Zhen step in twice to prevent internal strife within the team. In Sun Wukong’s view, she hadn’t done so for his sake but purely to prevent the team from suffering losses.
However, when Huang Zhen threw herself at the Scorpion Tiger, urging him to flee and trying to buy his escape with her life, Sun Wukong felt somewhat moved. Perhaps this woman wasn’t as cold as she appeared to be; she did have some sense of compassion after all. With that in mind, he decided to step in and lend them a hand!
“Swoosh!”
As the Scorpion Tiger inched closer to Huang Zhen, its tail suddenly moved, and its scorpion-like tail needle became a blur, shooting towards Huang Zhen’s forehead. If it struck, her body would be drained dry within a few breaths, leaving nothing but a withered husk.
“Is it finally… over?”
A look of despair flashed through Huang Zhen’s eyes as she shut them tight, bracing for the moment the tail needle would pierce her forehead – only to hear a soft clink. The anticipated pain didn’t come, and out of surprise, she opened her eyes. The next moment, her eyes widened, her mouth agape in utter shock.
Right in front of her, just a step away, Sun Wukong stood shielding her with his body, his right hand raised with two fingers pinching the indestructible tail needle of the demonic beast Scorpion Tiger firmly. The corrosive, green-glowing, potent poison on the tail needle failed to harm Sun Wukong’s fingers not one bit!
“To think you can harm someone in my presence, you are far from qualified!”
Sun Wukong let out a cold laugh. The very next moment, he exerted force with the fingers holding the Scorpion Tiger’s tail needle, shattering it completely. But he didn’t stop there; a force traveled along the fractured needle towards its base, causing the long tail to continually break apart, with signs of spreading toward the body. Frightened by this, the Scorpion Tiger yelped and snapped off its own tail like a gecko might, scurrying away several meters before it dared to turn back and gaze at Sun Wukong with a look of terror and fury.
Most demonic beasts in a frenzied state do not feel pain or fear, but there are exceptions. The complete breakage of the Scorpion Tiger’s entire tail was no light injury; it’s not a gecko after all, and such an act of self-mutilation was a significant toll on its body.
“Sun Wukong, you…”
Huang Zhen looked at Sun Wukong as if seeing him for the first time, her eyes filled with astonishment. This was a frenzied Scorpion Tiger, after all, and its tail attack was one of its two ultimate moves. Yet Sun Wukong had blocked it effortlessly with just two fingers, not only that, but he had also crushed the tail with a mere flick of his fingers, leaving Huang Zhen scarcely able to believe her own eyes!
How strong must one be to cause a frenzied demon spirit-ranked Scorpion Tiger’s tail to break inch by inch?
“I’ve told you before; this was but a play to me.”
The corners of Sun Wukong’s mouth lifted slightly. “A Demon Spirit Level demonic beast? Too weak!”
With the word “weak” leaving his mouth, a towering aura surged from Sun Wukong, but it did not radiate far, only enveloping the ravine. It was the power of the Heaven-Breaking Domain. Sun Wukong was employing the Heaven-Breaking Domain directly because the Myriad Beast Mountains were teeming with demonic beasts. Releasing his full energy might attract the attention of high-rank demonic beasts, which would not be conducive to finding the whereabouts of the Heaven-Defying Demon Emperor Mu Chenxuan and his companions. Utilizing the Heaven-Breaking Domain, in this case, was ideal, as it could contain the fluctuations of power within the domain and prevent them from spreading.
Besides, Sun Wukong had another purpose: to encompass Duanmu Bai, who was attempting to flee the ravine in the domain’s scope. The man had relentlessly mocked Sun Wukong throughout their journey, and now that he saw the tide turning, he wanted to slip away? It wasn’t going to be that easy—Sun Wukong had a score to settle with him!
“What… what power is this? It’s so formidable!”
As the Heaven-Breaking Domain unfolded, Huang Zhen and the others felt an overwhelming, irresistible pressure. Sun Wukong didn’t apply his domain power to suppress them, but it immobilized them all the same. They had neither seen nor heard of such terrifying strength before!
Exactly what level of powerhouse would possess such strength? This Sun Wukong, no, Senior Sun, had he hidden his power too deeply?
“Bang!”
Duanmu Bai, in his attempt to escape the ravine, suddenly felt an overpowering force envelop him, and the terrifying pressure slammed him down from the sky, crashing to the ground with his bones creaking loudly, struggling even to lift his head.
“How… how is this possible? This… is this the power of the Domain?”
Duanmu Bai, gazing toward the distant figure of Sun Wukong, who seemed like a Demon God, passed a look of horror and disbelief in his eyes. How could this be? How could that guy be so strong?
While others might be unaware, Duanmu Bai, as a scion of the Duanmu Clan, had wide-ranging knowledge unmatched by ordinary people; this was clearly domain power, a force only those above the rank of Demon Emperor could wield!

This Sun Wukong, is he a Demon Saint?!
The Duanmu Clan, as one of the three great families of the Demonic Realm, has a history of several million years. Although it has never produced a fighter of the Demon Saint level, it does have related records. According to legend, only Demon Saints or extremely talented fighters who are half a step into the Demon Saint Realm can master Domain Power. Once Domain Power is unleashed, all enemies within are rendered utterly incapable of resistance, to be slaughtered at will.
Duanmu Bai never dreamed that Sun Wukong would possess Domain Power! Could he be a high-ranking Demon Saint?
Impossible, the Demonic Realm hasn’t seen the emergence of a Demon Saint in many years; otherwise, the Heavenly Dao would surely have reacted, and the elders of the Duanmu Clan would definitely have noticed!
So Sun Wukong must be a half-step Demon Saint Realm warrior!
Heavens! To think he’d been mocking and sneering at a half-step Demon Saint Realm warrior all this time, even attempting to strike against him on several occasions!
The thought alone drained all the color from Duanmu Bai’s face in an instant, his back drenched in cold sweat, wetting his clothes. That he was still alive was nothing short of miraculous! With Sun Wukong’s half-step Demon Saint strength, it was astonishing that he hadn’t been crushed to death!
No wonder, no wonder Sun Wukong had remained unperturbed all along. No wonder he stood aside without the slightest intention to join forces earlier. To Sun Wukong, a Demon Beast of mere Demon Spirit Level was unworthy of his attention. Such a creature could be extinguished with a mere flick of his fingers, including Duanmu Bai himself!
“Roar~!”
With the unleashing of the Heaven-Breaking Domain, the Scorpion Tiger was pressed prostrate to the ground, utterly immobile. Its red glow was instantly suppressed, its skin color returned to normal as the Heaven-Breaking Domain forced it out of its frenzied state. Fear filled the depths of its tiger eyes.
The Scorpion Tiger’s spiritual wisdom was already decent among the Demonic Beasts. Although it couldn’t speak, it possessed the instinct to seek benefits and avoid harm, as well as the intellect to fear stronger beings. Now, besides an overwhelming terror of Sun Wukong, all it felt was regret for attacking Sun Wukong and the others, but regret would hardly save it now!
“Swoosh!”
With a mere gesture from Sun Wukong, the Scorpion Tiger’s body floated up without any resistance and was drawn close, crashing right in front of Huang Zhen.
“What are you waiting for? Weren’t you going to take the Demon Core? Get moving!”
Sun Wukong glanced at the still-dazed Huang Zhen and slightly frowned. He himself had no knowledge of the Demon Race’s Dharma Seals for extracting Demon Cores; only Huang Zhen could do it.
“Ah? Oh, right, the Demon Core, I’ll take the Demon Core.”
Coming back to her senses from the shock and daze, Huang Zhen swallowed hard, took out the Broken Blade to make an incision in the Scorpion Tiger’s abdomen, and pushed in a Dharma Seal. Moments later, amid the Scorpion Tiger’s despondent gaze, an infant fist-sized, earthy yellow Demon Core floated out from the incision, grabbed by Huang Zhen. The eyes of the Scorpion Tiger began to lose focus, and after uttering a final whimper, its head dropped, and it was gone.
To obtain the Demon Core, one must act while the Demonic Beast still lives, but once the Demon Core is removed, the life of the Demonic Beast comes to an end, leaving them only with death. When people of the Demonic Realm enter the Demon Beast Continent to harvest Demon Cores, it is essentially a hunt, yet the beasts counter this by hunting the Demon Race themselves—it is a naked law of survival of the fittest, right or wrong doesn’t enter into it.
Sun Wukong took action mainly because of Huang Zhen’s last deed; her dash toward the Scorpion Tiger, risking her own life to buy Sun Wukong a chance to escape, affected him deeply. This woman truly considered him a companion.
When it comes to friends and companions, Sun Wukong is never stingy and would never stand by and watch them die. That’s why he intervened.
Dealing with a Demonic Beast of Demon Spirit Level was a piece of cake for Sun Wukong, hardly requiring effort. The main reason he used Domain Power was to prevent that Duanmu Bai from escaping.
A son of the Duanmu Clan, all so grand? Thinking he could leave so easily, wishful thinking!
Swoosh!
With a mere thought from Sun Wukong, Domain Power enveloped Duanmu Bai, dragging him back from the distant gulf’s edge into the air and slamming him hard onto the ground. He landed face first, a classic face-plant, as his two front teeth broke out, his mouth and face covered in blood.
Swoosh!
Sun Wukong withdrew the Heaven-Breaking Domain. Maintaining the Heaven-Breaking Domain consumed a significant amount of Chaos Primordial Force, but it had served its purpose of deterrence. Domain Power was no longer needed, given that Duanmu Bai was right in front of him. Could he possibly escape under Sun Wukong’s watch?
