After the banquet, Sun Wukong invited the Leader of Tongtian deeper into Water Curtain Cave Heaven, to his own courtyard. Zi Lan Fairy and Luo Bai also followed into the courtyard. Dressed in garments whiter than snow and exuding an elegant charm, the Leader of Tongtian glanced at Sun Wukong and chuckled lightly.

“Sect Hierarch, look at what you’re saying. Am I the type of person who would do that? Didn’t you help me out several times? I just wanted to show my gratitude and treat you well as a host should!”

Sun Wukong chuckled in response.

“You little monkey sure have a way with words!”

The Leader of Tongtian laughed and nodded, “Alright, don’t keep calling me ‘Sect Hierarch’, it feels too distant. If you don’t mind, just call me ‘Brother Tongtian’.”

“This… wouldn’t be quite proper, would it? I am brothers with Luo Bai, but you are his mentor… this seniority…”

Sun Wukong hesitated, looking at Luo Bai somewhat uncertain.

The Leader of Tongtian laughed and scolded, “Alright, kiddo, now you remember ranks and seniority? You’ve disobeyed the rules more than enough times; how come you’ve suddenly become so strictly observant? Luo Bai is Luo Bai, and I am me; we make our own connections!”

It is only right and proper that I return them, and I must thank you for bestowing the Formation Diagram and the Sword of Slaying Immortals upon Luo Bai; otherwise, I really would have had no good way to deal with that Buddha last time!”

“Good, that’s the spirit! But Wukong, without the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation, how do you plan to deal with Buddha if you face him again in the future?”

“When the enemy advances, we’ll block; when the water rises, we’ll mound up earth against it. The Buddha may be formidable, but I’m not a weakling either! Even though my cultivation isn’t equal to his right now, I’m confident I can catch up to him soon. Relying on the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation is not the right way after all.
