Chapter 448: Chapter 448: Blood Demon Rampage (Second Update!)

“`

Strange fluctuations passed through the barrier that Sun Wukong had set up, spreading out in all directions and reaching deep into the lake trench, permeating through the Blood Pool Barrier and into the depths of the Blood Pool.

Splash!

Splashing!

The Blood Pool began to stir, becoming more and more violent until it boiled over. A tall figure emerged from within the pool. Although its features were indistinct, one thing was certain: this was the Blood Fiend!

“What a marvelous power! A treasure has emerged, a treasure like no other!”

...

Two eyes gleamed like candle flames on the Blood Fiend’s blurred face as a deep, hoarse, and somewhat shrill voice rose. The gaze fixated above the Blood Pool where there was an invisible barrier that would unleash astonishing thunder fire power upon contact.

Among all the forces in heaven and earth, the power of thunder and fire is the most yang and the natural nemesis of the bloodthirsty aura. Only such a barrier could seal the Blood Fiend effectively.

“Damn this seal! Break it for me!”

In a roar of rage, a ferociously tyrannical energy surged from the Blood Fiend, and several blood dragons erupted from the pool, slamming fiercely against the invisible barrier above.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Loud booming sounds echoed, and the entire Star Moon Lake shook violently. The placid surface of the water turned into raging waves, and thousand-foot high billows rose up, alarming the whole Nine-Tailed Fox Tribe.

“What’s going on? Why is the Blood Fiend attacking the barrier again?”

“Just a month ago, the Great Elder reinforced the seal with the Elder Council; how has the Blood Fiend recovered so quickly?”

“This time the assault seems much more ferocious than before. Has the Blood Fiend been provoked? Why is it suddenly so agitated?”

In the treasure vault of Fox Qi Mountain, the Great Elder Bai Wushuang had been sitting in meditation not far from Leng Xuan. As soon as he felt the astonishing fluctuations coming from the direction of Star Moon Lake, he opened his eyes, a flash of surprise crossing them. He glanced at Leng Xuan, then vanished from the vault in a flicker, carefully closing its massive doors behind. Leng Xuan was at a critical moment in his cultivation breakthrough while obtaining the Celestial Fox staff, and must not be disturbed!

“Strange, what on earth has happened? Why is the Blood Fiend so restless? Could it have been stimulated by something?”

For the past hundred years, without the Fox Emperor to activate the Hao Tian Mirror, the Nine-Tailed Fox Tribe’s elders, led by the Great Elder Bai Wushuang, had to continuously infuse strength into the seal over the Blood Pool to maintain it. On average, they reinforced it once a year. However, lately, the Blood Fiend’s attempts to break the seal had become more forceful and frequent, but it would usually be only once every six months or so. It was quite puzzling that the Blood Fiend had launched another attack just one month later.

“Great Elder!”

“Great Elder, you’ve come!”

By the time Bai Wushuang arrived at the shores of Star Moon Lake, a group of elders had already joined forces to form a hemispherical barrier that enveloped the entire lake. The tumultuous, sky-high waves kept pounding against the barrier, causing it to wobble nonstop. The sight alarmed all the Nine-Tailed Celestial Foxes who had come after hearing the news. The Blood Fiend was still sealed in the Blood Pool and could generate such a massive force; if it managed to break the seal and escape, the consequences were unimaginable!

“What’s going on, why has the Blood Fiend suddenly become so violent?”

“`

Great Elder Bai Wushuang furrowed his brows and inquired of the other elders.

“I have no idea, it just started acting up all of a sudden. We just arrived not long ago, managed only to set up the barrier to withstand the onslaught of the huge waves, and haven’t yet had the chance to go inside to investigate.”

Elder Qing Zi furrowed his brows as he spoke.

“Is that so? That’s rather strange!”

Bai Wushuang’s brows furrowed even tighter. By all logic, after the last reinforcement of the seal, the Blood Demon’s strength should have been greatly diminished; it should have lain dormant for a while to accumulate energy. Why would it launch an assault so soon?

“Where is the Great Sage? Has anyone seen the Great Sage?”

Bai Wushuang suddenly seemed to think of something, scanning his surroundings, but he didn’t see Sun Wukong anywhere. All of the Nine-Tailed Fox Tribe also said they hadn’t seen him.

“Great Elder, didn’t the Great Sage go into the treasure vault with you?”

Upon hearing this, Bai Wushuang understood straight away. The Blood Demon’s sudden eruption must be related to Sun Wukong. Otherwise, why would it surge now of all times, right after Sun Wukong had left the treasure vault?

“You all stay here to guard. I’ll go in and take a look!”

After letting out a wry smile, Bai Wushuang executed a Dharma Decree to pass through the barrier and flew into Star Moon Lake. Without the barrier’s protection, the surface of Star Moon Lake was completely boiling over—giant waves were surging, and water dragons were rolling. Bai Wushuang simply dove headfirst into the water and swam toward the lake’s deep trench.

Inside the cavern in the trench of the lake, Sun Wukong was oblivious to the disturbance caused by the Blood Demon; he was even less aware that he was the one who had triggered this upheaval. Currently, he was completely immersed in the boundless pleasure that came with the fusion of the Chaos Divine Pearls.

The three Chaos Divine Pearls had completely merged into one within the chaotic light, undergoing marvelous transformations within the newly formed Chaos Divine Pearl. The Divine Pearl’s level was incrementally increasing, finally breaking through the threshold of top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure and reaching the level of a low-grade Innate Supreme Treasure.

At this very moment, a vast sea of Primordial of the Grand Dao surged from the unknown, accompanied by astonishing Merit Force that flowed into Wukong through the Chaos Divine Pearl. Wukong felt as though his mind went blank with a loud bang, and he became completely engrossed in an indescribably profound sensation. It was as if with a mere thought, he could traverse the Three Realms, the Six Paths, or soar through the vast universe. This feeling was mysteriously similar to the one he had experienced during his last near-successful attempt at enlightenment through strength.

Buzz~!

A phantom figure appeared above Sun Wukong’s head, looking exactly like him, with a smile that brought joy to those who saw it. This was Wukong’s Good Corpse, which he had already Slayed.

After the Good Corpse manifested, another, even more ethereal figure began to emerge from the top of Wukong’s head. It seemed to struggle greatly as if confined and oppressed, shaking and struggling to rise bit by bit, which appeared to be extremely strenuous.

This was the Evil Corpse, the second of the Three Corpses, embodying the evil thoughts within him.

Slaying the Three Corpses doesn’t mean to eradicate benevolent thoughts, malevolent thoughts, and desires, but rather to condense these three kinds of thoughts into entities that can exist independently yet remain connected to the original self, as if gaining another self. With each Corpse Slayed, one’s strength could increase by geometric multiples.

Sun Wukong had fortuitously Slayed his Good Corpse while in the Demonic Realm, and now he was about to Slay his Evil Corpse as well!
