Chapter 315: 315: A Box of Crystal Cores
Chapter 315: Chapter 315: A Box of Crystal Cores
“Jiuqing mentioned that you were going to visit Su Jin and Lu Hao’s place today?” Liang Wei asked with a smile.
“Yes, I had promised Su Jin, and now it’s time to fulfill that promise,” he replied.
The Heart Talk Team played a decisive role in resolving this Zombie Tide smoothly.
During the six days and five nights of battle, Su Jin’s Mutated Plants didn’t rest for even a minute—they must have devoured at least a couple hundred thousand zombies!
Moreover, they even participated in three battles at the city gate every day, especially Su Jin and Lu Hao, who could each last over three hours at a time.
And then there was Lu Hao with his Mysterious Fire Fan; with each wave, a large swath of zombies were scorched, the effect nearly rivaled their artillery!
“But it’s ridiculous, someone anonymously reported that the Heart Talk Team, disregarding the safety of our base, monopolized the Treasured Fan and didn’t maximize its effects,” he said.
Liang Jiuhui complained to Liang Wei about the anonymous report he received. He didn’t know what the person who wrote the letter was thinking, and frankly, he wasn’t interested in finding out.
The Mysterious Fire Fan was Lu Hao’s possession. He was already incredibly grateful that they were willing to use it to help the base; and yet, someone still wanted to borrow it?
He would never agree to that!
Liang Wei, however, thought it was quite normal. Such treasures naturally attract those who desire them, and even Su Jin’s Mutated Plants might catch the attention of some interested parties.
“I really am worried for them, but as long as they are at the S City Base, they will be protected here,” Liang Jiuhui stated.
As for what Ye Rongxin said about the Red Flame Team, it’s better left unmentioned.
Liang Wei nodded. He felt they didn’t need to worry too much about those people. If they dared to expose their assets, they must have made thorough preparations. Perhaps, the Mysterious Fire Fan and the Mutated Plants were not their only trump cards…
But Liang Wei didn’t spell it out, nor did he plan to probe further. After all, in this vast apocalypse, their choice to stay here was a sign of respect. Scaring them away would be counterproductive!
Upon learning that Liang Jiuhui would personally visit their villa, Su Jin and the others cleaned up everything again, even the fruit peels and cores in the trash bin were taken care of by Lu Hao.
The table was now filled with easily storable snacks like sunflower seeds and peanuts. Su Jin even took out some fruit preserves from the Space in two labeled jars, as they were soon to host the Base Leader.
Liang Jiuhui came with Song Sibo, and they arrived just after dinner, their casual outfits making them seem much more approachable.
“This place is really lively,” Liang Jiuhui remarked as he looked around the room filled with people.
Even Song Sibo felt as though he was attending a family gathering, especially with the little monkey running back and forth, full of joy!
Smiling, Su Jin served two bowls of fruit preserves, saying, “It is lively here, mainly because the house is big enough.”
And safe enough, or else they wouldn’t have chosen to settle here.
Song Sibo was pleasantly surprised as he received a large bowl of fruit preserves. The fruits, looking like they were coated in honey, shone brightly. How long had it been since he last ate fruits?
Liang Jiuhui took a bite; the preserves contained not only yellow peaches but also apples, pears, and other fruits. Though canned, perhaps due to how long he had been without fruits, the freshness was overwhelming!
“This Zombie Tide, I really thank everyone present. Liang is immensely grateful,” Liang Jiuhui said, looking around at everyone in the room.
He also took the opportunity to introduce Song Sibo to Guo Yang, stating that this was the Space Element Ability User whose Space was as large as a playground.
Song Sibo looked at Guo Yang with envy. He was now a Level Four Space Element Ability User, but the size of his space was only 1,000 square meters, which seemed tiny compared to Guo Yang’s.
Guo Yang suddenly felt like crying. He had to live up to his own boasts, even if it meant doing so on his knees!!!
Su Jin held back her laughter; Guo Yang really took on too much on her behalf.
Liang Jiuhui’s main purpose in bringing Song Sibo was to deliver crystal cores to Su Jin, which everyone clearly understood, but when they saw Song Sibo take a huge wooden box out of his space, everyone was still stunned.
Were those all crystal cores inside? They had never seen so many crystal cores before!
“How, how many are there?” Su Jin found herself stuttering.
“160,000.”
Liang Jiuhui said, smiling.
!!!
Lin Xiuyuan swallowed hard. What did 160,000 represent?
They had risked their lives every day to gather only a few hundred crystal cores, and now were they going to become the wealthiest people at the base?
Lu Hao, however, calmly set the box aside and continued chatting with Liang Jiuhui as if nothing unusual had happened.
The family could no longer focus on their conversation. Even Guo Yang and the others were so immersed in the joy of their unexpected “fortune” that they couldn’t extricate themselves.
It wasn’t until Liang Jiuhui and Song Sibo had left that everyone suggested to Su Jin that they probably needed a wild party, otherwise they’d be too excited to sleep tonight.
A celebration? A wild party?
Su Jin said that was absolutely no problem. Their basement’s home theater had many features, including karaoke, and even the lighting was designed by the previous homeowner during the renovation.
What is karaoke?
Nie Qing was puzzled—singing tunes?
Lu Guanhai, clearly also in high spirits, took advantage of the moment while everyone was preparing food to take Nie Qing to the basement and started showing him around.
Since they had known that Liang Jiuhui would visit today, nobody had eaten dinner. Now was the perfect time to make up for it during the celebration.
With the basement fully enclosed, even if everyone grabbed the microphone and screamed, no one could hear them. Seeing everyone in good spirits, Su Jin also brought out some red wine, foreign liquor, and sodas. There were no tasks for tomorrow, so sleeping in wasn’t a problem.
“Liang Jiuhui also asked us to visit him tomorrow,”
Lu Hao said as he clinked his glass against Su Jin’s.
“A consultation again? Considering the number of crystal cores he just gave us, I can offer him a free consultation this time,”
Su Jin sipped the red wine, which wasn’t really just red wine since she had mixed in a lot of lemon-flavored soda to dilute the dry, tannic taste, making it more palatable for her.
“I don’t think it’s going to be that simple,”
Lu Hao’s words were drowned out by Yin Chengtian’s singing. Watching everyone so relaxed, he too smiled. These days had indeed been hard on everyone—perhaps it was best to leave other matters aside for now.
What do you think?
