Chapter 151: Found the Woman Who’s Two-Timing
Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Found the Woman Who’s Two-Timing
Ji Zeqiu was excited about going home.
It was like how a child was pampered for the first few days after coming home for the holidays. Lin Xu, with all her concern, pulled at Ji Zeqiu, asking him what he wanted to eat, and even wanted to cook for him herself.
Thinking about Lin Xu’s cooking skills, Ji Zeqiu conservatively answered, “I’d like to have scallion noodles.”
“I’ll go cook them now,” Lin Xu said excitedly as she entered the kitchen.
Taking advantage of this time, Ji Zeqiu went upstairs to put away his luggage and tidy up the bedroom, changing into home clothes.
Feeling that it was about time, he went downstairs with anticipation, ready to eat the noodles Lin Xu had cooked for him.
However, as soon as he reached the bottom of the stairs, he saw Ji Tingyang sitting at the dining table, in front of him an empty soup bowl, as if he had just finished a satisfying meal, calmly reaching for a napkin to wipe his mouth.
Ji Zeqiu’s pace faltered, and then his face flushed with raging anger as he ran over and grabbed Ji Tingyang by the collar, grinding his teeth, “You bastard, you actually ate my noodles!”
“You also ate my apple, so we’re even,” Ji Tingyang said indifferently.
“Even? Mom has been at home with you for so long, and she hasn’t even spent time with me, and now you’ve even eaten my noodles.” Ji Zeqiu’s chest heaved violently, his eyes bulging wide, as if the fury in his heart was about to erupt.
Just as he was considering whether to beat up Ji Tingyang to vent his anger, Lin Xu came out of the kitchen.
Seeing the two brothers about to start fighting again, Lin Xu became incredibly flustered, “How many times have I told you, no fighting!”
The scene where the two brothers had fought in the study, ending up bruised and swollen, was still vivid in Lin Xu’s mind, scaring her so much it felt like she had lost several years of her life.
Since that day, she had been warning them repeatedly—if anyone started a fight, she would move out and live alone with the other son.
Both of them immediately behaved.
Perhaps remembering Lin Xu’s words, Ji Zeqiu let go of the collar he had been gripping, his eyes looking at her with a hint of grievance, “Ji Tingyang ate all my noodles.”
Ji Zeqiu pursed his lips, his eyes reddening, which softened Lin Xu’s heart, and she immediately tried to console him, “I cooked a lot, it’s all in the kitchen. I’ll go and get you a bowl right now.”
After saying this, Lin Xu glanced helplessly at Ji Tingyang, “You as the older brother, why are you always arguing with Zeqiu?”
It wasn’t until Lin Xu went back into the kitchen that Ji Zeqiu’s face shifted from the look of being wronged, he crossed his legs and sat back leisurely, his gaze at Ji Tingyang revealing a touch of provocation.
He knew his mother favored him the most, even scolding Ji Tingyang for him.
Ji Tingyang’s expression remained indifferent, coldly sneering, “What, is the role you’re playing recently ‘Green Tea’? You’re quite masterful at it.”
Ji Zeqiu didn’t care and humphed, “You’re just jealous.”
Jealous of the affection mother showed to him.
Lin Xu returned with a bowl of noodles, this time with an added fried egg. Ji Zeqiu saw this, his eyes gleaming with triumphant delight.
Ji Tingyang’s bowl earlier didn’t have an egg, only his own had an egg to eat.
He knew he was the one his mother loved the most!
Ji Tingyang had clearly seen the egg as well, pausing for a moment before looking up at Lin Xu.
In that brief exchange of glances, Lin Xu felt as if she could sense his silent reproach.
Lin Xu’s heart skipped a beat, feeling that trouble was brewing.
She remembered a friend saying that when raising children, one must be fair.
Hurriedly, Lin Xu said to Ji Tingyang, “I’ll go and boil an egg for you now, just wait.”
Ji Tingyang stopped her turning away, gently shaking his head, “It’s okay, no need to boil one.”
There was no point in comparing himself to that immature fool, Ji Zeqiu.
He didn’t want Lin Xu going back to busy herself, so he pulled out a napkin from the table and carefully wiped the grease from her hands.
The atmosphere finally eased, and as Ji Zeqiu ate his noodles, he mumbled insincerely, “Even if she boiled one for you, it’s useless, I’m the one mother loves the most.”
He emphasized the word “most.”
Ji Tingyang’s wiping hands paused, and his gaze towards her was calm and untroubled.
Lin Xu immediately added, “I also like Ting Yang the best.”
“Shouldn’t there only be one ‘the best’? You can only choose one,” Ji Zeqiu frowned.
Ji Tingyang also quietly waited for her response.
The burning gazes of both men were fixed on her so intently that Lin Xu instantly broke out in a sweat.
“My stomach kind of hurts, I’ll go to the bathroom first.” She bent over, clutching her stomach as if in discomfort, then briskly walked back to the bedroom.
Shutting the door, locking it, all in one smooth motion.
Leaving behind two brothers who found each other’s presence disagreeable.
“…”
The next day.
Just as Lin Xu thought she had dodged a bullet and hadn’t even taken a breath of relief, she heard the brothers squabbling over a cherry.
“The cherry mother gave me is bigger than yours; she definitely loves me a little bit more,” Ji Zeqiu declared confidently.
“If you’re blind, then go get treatment. Can’t you see mine is bigger?” Ji Tingyang scoffed.
Lin Xu had seen two five or six-year-old children quarrel over who their mother liked better, but these two brothers were both in their twenties. How could they still be acting like children?
Before the brothers’ quarrel could affect her, she turned to leave.
“Where are you going?”
The voices of Ji Zeqiu and Ji Tingyang rang out, in unison.
“I’m going to the supermarket to buy some things,” Lin Xu said.
“I’m coming too!” Ji Zeqiu suddenly stood up, then as if afraid Lin Xu would think he was too clingy, he stammered an explanation, “I, I just also happen to have something to buy. It’s not because I’m following you.”
Unlike Ji Zeqiu, who wasn’t saying what he meant, Ji Tingyang had already walked over to Lin Xu’s side and silently took her hand to lead her out the door.
…
In the supermarket. @@novelbin@@
A roommate placed shower gel in the shopping cart and looked toward Ji Yuqiao who was listlessly by the side, asking, “I’ve finished buying my stuff, do you need anything else?”
“I’m done too,” Ji Yuqiao shook her head.
“Okay, then let’s head back to school,” the roommate said.
Just as Ji Yuqiao and her classmate were going to pay, she caught a glimpse of several familiar figures out of the corner of her eye.
At the checkout counter in front, her two brothers were arguing with each other about paying for the woman with them.
In the end, Ji Zeqiu was defeated, looking rather unwilling as he voluntarily took her bags and pulled her to leave the place.
Ji Tingyang frowned and pulled the woman back to his side.
Wasn’t that woman the one who played her two brothers for fools?
Ji Yuqiao’s eyes widened as she watched them drive off, and she hurriedly said goodbye to her roommate and chased after them.
She hailed a taxi and asked the driver to follow the car ahead.
After several twists and turns, the car stopped outside the Ji Mansion.
She hadn’t expected that bad woman to actually be living in their house!
She rushed into the mansion while pulling out her phone to call Lin Xu, “Lin Xu, I’ve found that two-timing bad woman, come help me beat her up!”
“Calm down. Where should I come to help you?”
Lin Xu asked over the phone, only to see Ji Yuqiao charge in furiously the next second.
The two looked at each other, dumbfounded.
What do you think?
