Chapter 1268: Giving Arthur A Little Gift

Arthur armed himself with bravery as he attacked my Skeleton soldiers, destroying them one after another with rapid thrusts of his spear.

He was constantly attacking them over and over again, at the beginning he was quite clumsy, but he rapidly became better, faster, and more precise.

And this was all thanks to the System!

Through the power of cheats, a new ability had been born, I could purchase skills, yes, as always! Sometimes they're handy, most of the time I'm better off using my own personal Skills.

But now thanks that the Shop had evolved, I can now gift the skills by paying double their price to anybody I have a "strong bond".

So pretty much all my family members and close friends!

With this, I was able to help Arthur overcome his shortcomings as he lacked a lot of experience using spears and their techniques.

And he wouldn't be able to really learn anything in just an hour anyways, so when I implanted that Skill into him, the knowledge and experience just flowed into his mind.

His body moved on its own whenever he activated the skill, so he simply had to follow that feeling and copy the patterns and turn this power into his own.

"This is much easier now..." he was surprised. "Huh? I learned another Skill...! [Triple Spear Attack]!"

"Ugh, it still makes me feel bad," Arthur sighed. "Sis ended giving me even more gifts and power, none of such things I've earned on my own... I feel like I'm only leeching off her. It makes me feel bad... Like I'm not... truly strong."

"Nonsense! You're her brother, of course she'll help you out," said Emeraldine. "You suffered so much, Arthur. You even died... technically! Don't you think being pampered a bit isn't that bad? You're finally being gifted the things you lacked... Maria is working hard to make you happy."

"I-I know but..." Arthur looked at me. "I just... I guess it's my pride as a noble, it remains. Mom and dad wouldn't have liked that sis did everything for me either. So please big sis... let this be your last gift, alright? I mean in terms of power and everything else... I want to earn and grow on my own from now on. You've given me too much."

"Arthur..." I muttered. "I don't really even mind giving you these skills, I have so many Systems Points I don't even know what to do with them! So I was actually glad I could use them to make my brother stronger. But okay, if that's your decision I am nobody to tell reject it."

"Thanks, I mean it, thank you for everything, Maria, big sis..." he muttered. "You've helped me so much, but I think it's time I start walking on my own two feet."

"Nicely said," I sighed. "I always forget you're actually an adult now, right? Your mind has matured a lot... you're no longer my baby brother Arthur anymore."

"I still am your brother though," he said. "But yeah... I've grown up... and everything else that happened kind of changed me... forever. I just can't go back to how you remember me either... but I still... I love you, we're family."

"Of course," I smiled, hugging him. "I love you too Arthur... Big sis will always be there for you now, forever."

"T-That sounded a bit scary but alright..." he nodded. "Now I'll train even harder. I'll figure out my powers and learn skills! I have to farm as many Skills as I can like this."

"Nice," nodded Partner. "Well said lil' bro!"

"Stop calling me lil' bro..." Arthur glared at her with a deadly glare that made Partner almost step back in horror.

"E-Eh?!" she gasped. "B-But I thought we were good? Maria your brother isn't chill at all sometimes! He likes to pretend he's chill but he's kind of scary..."

"Just leave him alone," I sighed. "Come on, he just wants to train on his own."

"I-I'm technically made from your bones so he's my brother too, right?!" Partner kept crying. "Arthurrrr! Don't be mean to me!"

I dragged Partner before she made a huge mess and started bringing the attention of other students in the schoolyard.

Arthur sighed and then he continued practicing with my Undead, they didn't give him EXP, but he still earned Skill EXP when using skills.

And through constant usage of techniques and abilities or certain motions, he would constantly learn new skills, gain bonus stats, and even get Titles.

As everything happened, Sofia came back with the rest of my family, as I merged my two halves together. I was already done with Sofia's training as well; her Mechanical Heart had a very interesting power!

I'm sure it should be enough for her to do well or have a good chance at winning. We also practiced her Light and Metal Magic, and she realized she could also fight with just raw magic alone due to how strong she was magically, so we were good and ready.

We continued training, until finally, it was time for the Student Arena. The classrooms all became "teams", meaning we won't be fighting between students of the same class, but against other class students.

The schoolyard had a small arena that was divided into three sections, so there'll be 3 battles going on at the same time

"Alright! Let us begin today's Battle Test!" said Professor Hendrick. "There will be three

battles going on at the same time to save time, also the time limit per battle is 5 minutes! Once 5 minutes pass and no foe are down, the victor will be calculated by a series of parameters and conditions fulfilled in battle by our judges! Now, to the battles..."
