Chapter 1291: New Rivals 2
-----
As I saw Aquamarine talking with Nia, and the two getting along, I saw someone else arriving, a tall, muscular girl with fiery red hair, Fiera. She came to greet Alma with a serious expression.
"Alma…"
Her very presence released a strong pressure, which made Alma jump off her seat in panic, sweating bullets.
"E-Eek! F-Fiera?! Have you come for your revenge?!"
Alma cried in surprise as Fiera patted her shoulders gently to call for her attention, which only ended scaring her more!
Damn, does Fiera just doesn't know how to talk with people or something?
Well, I mean, Alma is also kind of… kind of too scared of things sometimes.
"C-Calm down! I didn't come to hit you or something… I am an honorable warrior after all," Fiera crossed her arms. "That battle we had… Uh, yeah, it didn't go well for me at the end. But I don't think I ever fought someone that pushed me this far… I think I even grew strong from that."
"Oh, really?" wondered Alma. "I-I'm glad for you…!"
"Yeah, it was surprisingly amazing," nodded Fiera with a smile. "Though I still feel frustrated… I lost because of my own shortcomings. I foolishly believed that I was enough, that I've done enough. That's a wrong way to think about things. I cannot think like that. My father taught me to have a clear and concise mind, one focused on the tasks at hand, in front of me. And to never think I've done enough, that I must keep striving to improve, always."

"I-I see…" Alma nodded; she probably didn't know where the conversation was going.
"So anyways, uh, I guess it became a bit confusing, right?" laughed Fiera. "What I want to say is that I was getting cocky and thinking I was invincible, I recognized your strength, but I still looked down on you anyways, because I judged you wrongly. As someone that must restore her honor, I must first ask for your forgiveness. I'm… sorry."
She took a while to just say she was sorry, damn!
Well, that's fine though, well said.
I remember she did call her fatty or something, that's not good!
Alma might be slightly overweight here and there but she's very healthy and doesn't look morbid or something either.
What I wanted to say is that a little weight on girls is never bad and that she's a cutie!
Anyways…
Fiera seemed nervous though, but Alma smiled.
"I see! A-Ah, well… Um, you're forgiven!" said Alma, nodding. "Don't worry about it, Fiera. I-I could tell that you were a strong fighter yourself… I really thought I would lose. I don't think you were being cocky, seeing how you used everything you had to win. You did really well! I almost died…"
"Really?!" Fiera gasped. "Alma… thank you! I'll continue training to grow even stronger, I need to become a Dream Warrior my father can be proud of, and someone that will save many lives! I must, it's a promise I made to my mother after all! I'll keep training, growing stronger, and getting the better hang of my abilities, and once that's done…"
She suddenly held Alma's delicate hands with her big hands.
"I want a rematch!"
"Eek! A-A rematch?! Are you crazy!"
"I need a rematch! I don't want to lose to anybody after all! You should also continue growing stronger, we can become rivals that boost one another's growth!"
"W-Whaat?! Is that even a thing? Wait Fiera, I think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself…"
"Come on, please?"
"Uuuhh…"
Alma seemed to be doubting herself, but this was a golden opportunity for her.
She wanted to become strong, right?
She said she was bored of losing, of being mocked.
And that she wanted to win.
Well, there it is, her chance to be able to do all of that and more.
"Alma, I think this is a good chance," I nodded. "Fiera's elemental affinity is perfect for you to spar as well. And I think you two can complement each other weaknesses as you train."
"Ah, I hadn't thought about that…" she said.
"Weren't you saying you wanted to win or something?" Emily asked. "This is your chance to grow strong and keep winning, don't let her win in the rematch!"
"E-Emily…" Alma seemed surprised, her eyes slowly gaining more resolve.
"Well, it's all up to you at the end Alma," said Sofia. "What do you want to do?"
"I… sure, yeah!" she nodded. "Okay Fiera! But don't think you'll win… I-I'll wipe the floor w-with you!"
"Hahah! That's the spirit! Good!" nodded Fiera. "We're sparring partners then… and friends!"
"F-Friends?" Alma gasped.
"Of course, after our big battle, it would be strange to not be friends now," she said. "Dad always said that his best friends were people he fought against."
"Um, sure! I don't mind more friends," Alma smiled anyways. "Thank you Fiera, let's get along!"
"Yeah!" Fiera smiled.
I guess that was resolved more or less…
Though where's Seraphin? I thought at least he would appear somewhere.
However, he was nowhere to be seen, it seemed that he was too embarrassed to even address Arachne after his utter defeat.
Apparently he had never been defeated before until now, so I guess she must be really disappointed on himself, or even embarrassed!
But whatever the case, we freaking won.
Three wins in a row, I guess this is the first time!
Now, the only participants within our group are…
Nyx, Celes, and I think Emeraldine, right?
Hmm…
Yeah, that's all of us!
Everyone else had already fought and either won or lost.
Though the only ones that lost were Sofia and my brother, and even though they won the battle they ended forfeiting because of their opponent winning their hearts somewhat.
Thinking about that, I wonder if Martina's alright now? I hope she could join us later…
"And now, onto the next battles…!" said Professor Hendrick. "Emeraldine versus Cheng Xie! Celes against Ming Lee! And Nyx versus Katokawa!"
Huh! Those were some interesting names, now…
It seems they're three Asian kids, two Chinese and one Japanese!
This'll be interesting, let's see what they can do.
These are all the last battles before we're finally freed, and I think we've already more or less completed this Trial Quest about Arena Battles for now.
