Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!

Chapter 1331: Nightmare Domain

"{Enlightened Stance: Brilliance of Yang}"

FLAAASH!

Completely pure golden light surged from her body, as her two weapons absorbed it and unleashed it through a barrage of powerful techniques.

Maria concentrated all the power of Yang Ki into her own Dream Weapons, and as she unleashed the special Stance and swung her weapons against Bell, she cut through his entire body, reducing it into pieces before he could do anything else.

"[Fallen's Angel Divine Ascension]!"

SLAAASH!

An ascending attack that manifested as Maria gained black feathered wings for a second, and even a broken halo above her head.

It represented the ascension of an angel that had fallen from heaven, attempting to cone more go back and reclaim its position.

This technique represented what Maria was, someone that had fallen from grace, becoming a monster, but that was also, always seeking light and warmth, within the eternal darkness and coldness of her existence.

Her Aura Guardian moved alongside her, adding even more attacks to it, making her blows even more lethal.

"G-Guggh?!"

The Nightmare Demon, Bell gasped for air, before he could complete his Domain Creation…

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

He was cut into pieces!

SPLAT!

His pieces fell to the ground, resembling a bloody pile of Nightmare Demon Blood over everywhere, Bell's eyes kept glancing at Maria as she sighed in relief.

"Phew… Well, that was more intense than I imagined, but we won," she said.

"Yeah!" Nyx celebrated. "We-"

TRUUUM!

"Huh?!"

Maria gasped as she saw time and space twisting and warping around her and her daughter, and even her friends around her.

Space began to fragment and shatter down into pieces as the entire world around her turned upside down, becoming confusing and terrifying.

Yes, this power…

This sensation, all over again!

"No way! Why is it happening?!"

It was another Nightmare Realm being born; no, this was an advanced form.

A Nightmare Domain specifically made by Nightmare Demons.

The ultimate trump card they used to trap foes inside!

FLUOSH!

"Hehehehe… I won! Now come and play with me… Let's be children… and friends… forever!"

Bell's voice echoed through Maria's mind, as only the darkness of the Nightmare Domain engulfed her completely, attempting to take over her subconscious.

FLAAASH!

.

.

.

A lonely girl walked a path of pure white light.

Her footsteps were slow and unsteady.

At any moment, she could end up tripping down and falling into the floor head-first.

It would hurt a lot; she knew her steps were unsteady.

She was nervous about everything.

Of life…

Of what waited her future.

Of everything from everywhere.

The world…

It was so scary.

"Uhh…"

She readjusted her glasses, trying to look better into the white void.

Since a young age, she had to wear glasses.

The girl had terrible eyesight; you see.

Because of that, she would end up tripping down all the time into the floor.

Yet she would always stand back up again.

Where kids would cry for ages that they fell, and it hurt them.

The girl would just stand up again, smile as if nothing, and move forward.

Yeah, that was how she lived her entire life.

In a way, it could be summarized in such a way.

"Calm down, dear; don't be so nervous. It's school; you'll meet all kinds of new friends!"

"B-But… I don't know…"

The girl was gripping her mother's hand very tightly nervously as she was introduced to school after finishing preschool.

"Come on, if you're so scared, we can go back home and we homeschool you instead! Heh!"

"No way! I don't want that either, Claudia…"

Her big sister teased her, always giggling annoyingly.

The girl kept walking through that path.

Memories and emotions surging endlessly, and then fading away one after another.

"Hahaha! Four Eyes! Four Eyes!"

"You tripped again!"

"Looool!"

"Um… Sniff…"

She often tripped on stupid ways, so funny it was that there was once a time the whole classroom laughed at her misfortune.

There was nobody that would go there to give her a hand.

She slowly stood up again, alone.

"My glasses…"

"Are you okay? Go sit down for now; I think you're fine anyway."

Not even the professor seemed that interested.

Yeah, this wasn't the best school in the city.

It was what her single mother could afford after all…

"Y-Yes…"

She sat down, sighing, as she looked at her broken glasses, feeling like the world turned all blurry.

"Hey four eyes."

Someone behind her called for her.

"Huh?"

"You're funny! Why do you trip so much?"

"I… Uh… I'm dumb, I guess…"

She smiled a bit bitterly; she didn't want to make people upset or fight if possible.

She was very meek and timid.

"Ah, I guess you are, hahaha!"

"A-Ahah…"

She kept walking the white void, looking tired; her little legs couldn't get her that far away.

But when you have a life like this, when you have nothing at all.

A life where you only fall, and fall, and fall…

What else is left to be done than to continue walking forward?

Crying wouldn't do anything.

She fell, and they laughed at her; nobody pitied her.

She stood back up again and continued moving.

No matter how many times she fell.

"Haah… Hahh…"

She continued walking, images passing through her mind as if they were real experiences.

Because they actually were.

Memories becoming real, living experiences once more.

"I… Um… I kind of… I love you…"

She confessed to the boy she liked, that she loved.

That brat that laughed at her back then, a friend she made since her first year.

Someone that liked laughing, and that ended accepting her.

He brought a bit of laughter to her life, even though sometimes he would laugh at her too.

They had similar interests and got along so well that she thought…

"W-What?"

She thought…

"Um… I-"

"I heard you the first time, but this is… I… Um, sorry. I don't really like you, uh."

"A-Ah…"

"It's weird; I never thought that you… Uh. I don't know… Were you always like this when we were together?"

"L-Like what?"

"Creepy?"

"E-Eh?"

Tears fell from the girl's eyes, as she continued moving forward.

A harsh life, full of falling and tumbling down.

She sat down and read.

And read.

And read more and more.

The only thing she could read.

These books, these worlds.

They brought life to her life.

Colors, stories, people, foes.

Adventures and passion were emotions she had never felt otherwise.

Ultimately, someone who wasn't loved by the world learned to love fictional worlds.

"Ah…"

And she ended hitting that woman, that young woman seeking books in that bookstore.

"Sorry, are you lost? Um…"

The girl looked at that woman, and as their eyes met…

"You…"

"Eh?"

It was like looking at her own reflection.

The girl's eyes widened, looking at the unbalanced bookshelf.

She knew what would happen in that moment.

"You have to move!"

"What?"

"You'll die!"

She dragged the woman's dress away from the bookshelf.

"Please trust me!"

"But…"

The woman stopped moving, glaring at the girl.

"What if I want to die anyway?"

"…"

The girl glanced at a third figure appear, someone behind the bookshelf.

It was her again, wearing high school clothes.

"It's better that way, right?"

"No… wait… We can keep going!"

The little girl tried to make them understand.

But it was too late.

The bookshelf came down, crushing the woman.

"Noooo! My daughter!"

"Fuck, why did this happen?!"

Her mother and her sister crying in front of her dead body…

And the girl watched it all, tears constantly falling from her big eyes.

She tried to touch them, to hug her mother and her sister.

Only now, after she died, she realized something.

Life wasn't so bad because of them.

"I'm sorry!"

They were her light; they were her family…

And they loved her no matter what…

"Please… I'm sorry…"

She kept trying to touch them, but she couldn't.

Her hands passed through their bodies; she was ethereal.

A ghost.

"Mom! Claudia!"

She kept crying and screaming, as they only became more and more distant.

Darkness surged behind her, dragging her further away.

And further, and further!

They turned into hands, grasping her little body and pushing her into the abyss of the void.

"DON'T LEAVE ME!"

She cried; her tears mixed with the darkness of the void.

And then, as she drowned into this endless darkness…

Into this eternal abyss.

That sadness became a stagnant feeling of…

Coldness and hollowness.

Crimson eyes glanced at her across the stellar abyss.

"Isn't it time to wake up?"

And it whispered in ancient tongues she couldn't understand.

But that she did anyway.

"The past cannot be changed."

He continued talking.

"But the future?"

He glanced at her from every angle.

"Only you can make it different."
