Chapter 654 - 610: Investigating Feitian Company_1
Chapter 654: Chapter 610: Investigating Feitian Company_1
From the words of Mayor Nie, Xue Jiujin could discern some intriguing implications. The Mayor seemed to be hinting at something.
As he mused over this, Zhenbang continued, “In tax matters, one cannot play favorites or offer deals. To do so is a desecration and a contempt for tax work. The colleagues in the Tax Bureau are doing quite well in raising their service levels. They are transitioning and shifting the government’s role from guiding to serving, which is commendable. This also fully demonstrates that the leadership of the Tax Bureau comprises individuals with outstanding abilities, who are willing to innovate and experiment. I believe this model can be successfully implemented across departments and industries in this city.”
As the words fell, Xue Jiujin felt even more confident in his speculations. The Mayor was clearly hinting at something. The overhaul of Hu Jiawang’s work was the first counterattack. As it appeared, Mayor Nie was preparing for a second offensive. And the target of the counterattack should be the Feitian Company set up by Hu Jiawang’s son, Hu Fei.
With this in mind, Xue Jiujin nodded and expressed, “The Mayor’s comments have offered us piercing clarity. We appreciate the municipal party committee and the city government for their support and affirmation of our work in the Tax Bureau. We will certainly bear in mind Mayor Nie’s directives and strive to carry out our subsequent inspection work meticulously. We will devote ourselves fully to revenue collection in Wanghai City.”
Next, in the Tax Bureau’s canteen, Nie Zhenbang and his team were very pleased. They took lunch according to the “Three Publics” regulations followed in such official functions.
This standard had been implemented in Wanghai City a few months ago, and by now, it had gradually won over everybody’s acceptance. Many of the province’s top officials were aware of this standard in Wanghai City. While visiting for inspections, they no longer made any lifestyle demands.
After bidding farewell to Nie Zhenbang and his group, Zhang Dingshan sidled up to Xue Jiujin and whispered, “Director Xue, appears that Mayor Nie isn’t willing to let things rest.”
On hearing these words, Xue Jiujin gave a cold laugh and replied casually, “Old Zhang, do you really think that Mayor Nie would let go so easily?”
Zhang Dingshan was somewhat taken aback. True, the recent provincial disciplinary committee’s intrusive investigation, coupled with numerous unsavory elements – if it weren’t for Mayor Nie’s competence, he would have been likely thrown out of Wanghai by now. This level of enmity was deep-seated indeed.
Nie’s mere rearranging of Hu Jiawang’s roles seemed insufficient reprisal.
After a short pause, Zhang Dingshan ventured, “Director Xue, are you planning… to investigate this?”
Zhang Dingshan’s words irked Xue Jiujin. Zhang was a cunning fellow, trying to rope him into his schemes. The implication was clear – he wanted Xue alone to shoulder responsibility. Zhang was afraid of poor mortals suffering in gods’ fights…
Though Hu Jiawang was out of favor, he was still a city government leader. In case of any change in the situation, Xue would have to shoulder the blame alone while Zhang wouldn’t stand to lose anything.
But Xue Jiujin now laughed coldly. As they say, where there’s risk, there’s reward. Since Zhang Dingshan was shrinking back, he only had himself to blame for being left behind by Xue Jiujin.
Then, Xue Jiujin laughed and said, “Old Zhang, in that case, you should take charge of tax law publicity. According to Mayor Nie’s instructions, I believe there is room to reinforce our efforts in this area. We need to instill tax laws into people’s hearts.”
…
Meanwhile, at the Chunjiang Building in Wanghai City – the headquarters of Feitian Company. The company leased out the entire tenth floor, a sprawling area of over 600 square meters.
The full name and business scope of Feitian Company, as registered in the business administration office, is Wanghai Feitian Enterprise Consulting Co., Ltd., which deals with corporate cultural consultation, economic analysis, and the like.
In reality, it was just Hu Fei taking advantage of his father’s status to contract out some projects, while connecting various business chains.
Early in the morning, a few members from the Tax Bureau had already gathered there. As soon as the office door swung open, the leading staff member walked in, flashed his ID and announced, “Who here is in charge? We are from the Wanghai City Tax Bureau’s Inspection Team. I am team leader Tang Guangming.”
No sooner had the words been spoken, a young man in his mid-twenties walked out, glanced at Tang Guangming, and said with a smile, “Team Leader Tang, what led you here today? Mr. Hu is busy with some affairs and isn’t in the company. Would you like to join us for lunch instead?”
The fact that they were discussing lunch merely at the beginning of the work day was proof enough that the folks at Feitian Company were not engaged in any legitimate business operations.
This man, Tang Guangming knows him, a trusted henchman for Hu Fei. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Feitian Company, his name is Sun Haihua, the younger brother-in-law of the Director of the Tongping District Civil Affairs Bureau.
Had it been any other time, Tang Guangming would have saved his face. But today is different; the investigation into Feitian Company is a direct order from Director Xue. Judging from his tone, there are higher authorities attentively watching. This is a clear display of readying all cannons. The main target, likely, is Hu Fei’s father, Hu Jiawang.
In such a scenario, Tang Guangming wouldn’t put on a friendly face. His demeanor turning serious, he said, “Mr. Sun, please produce the financial statements and tax documents of the Feitian Company for the past two years. We are conducting an investigation.”
The words caused Sun Haihua to falter; his expression tightened. Feitian Company had never paid a penny in taxes since its incorporation. With Hu Fei’s father involved, and Hu Jiawang was the real power in the municipal government. Every department in Wanghai City would save their face. But now, these people seemed serious, which made Sun Haihua become more confused. They couldn’t withstand such a probe.
Immediately after, Sun Haihua’s expression changed, he sternly said, “Tang Guangming. What do you mean by this?”
“What do I mean? Mr. Sun, according to corporate relations, Feitian Company should pay taxes to the local tax bureaus, it’s a normal procedure. As the leader of the tax inspection team of the local tax bureau, investigating situations of tax payment is part of my job. Are you resisting law enforcement?” Tang Guangming asked, with a stern face.
If he were to be threatened, that would have intimidated him in the past when Sun Haihua had Hu Fei’s backing and the vice mayor supporting him. But now, the situation is different. Director Xue has issued an unyielding directive. Someone from higher up is watching too. This time, law enforcement is a routine one, and all procedures are meeting the norms. No one could find any mistakes. Tang Guangming naturally knew how to choose without enforcing the law. And in the end, even if Hu Fei didn’t deal with him, Director Xue would not let him go.
Looking at Tang Guangming’s fearless attitude, Sun Haihua also realized that the situation couldn’t be easily solved today. He laughed casually and said, “Team leader Tang, listen to what you say. Our Feitian Company is upheld as a model of law-abiding. How could we commit such deeds? Rest assured, we will certainly open our accounts for you to investigate. However, please wait a moment while I call our Boss Hu.”
With the situation evolved to this point, Sun Haihua knew it wouldn’t end well just by his efforts. This matter could only be solved by Hu Fei himself.
Back in his room, Sun Haihua dialed Hu Fei’s number right away.
At that moment, in a suite at the Wanghai Hotel, Hu Fei was fully naked, engaged in a vigorous exercise. @@novelbin@@
Underneath him was the woman, Li Min. With her amorous expression and insatiable lust, she constantly stimulated Hu Fei’s body.
Within two minutes, Hu Fei gave an aroused yell and collapsed in exhaustion. At the moment, Li Min let out a cry, firmly holding onto Hu Fei, continuing to pant heavily. However, in fact, a glimpse of disgust flashed across Li Min’s face. It was getting faster and faster; at least in the past, she felt something, but now, everything was over before she could feel anything.
Meanwhile, Hu Fei’s phone kept ringing nonstop. Finally, Hu Fei answered it. The moment he picked it up, Sun Haihua’s voice came from the other end, “Young Master Hu. Something big happened. The tax inspection team from the district tax bureau has arrived at the company. Judging from their attitudes, they are on official duty. This is clearly aimed at you.”
Hearing Sun Haihua, Hu Fei instantly got furious. He sat up and bellowed, “Sun Haihua, are you out of your mind? Can’t you handle such a small thing? The district tax bureau, how dare they investigate me, Hu Fei? Wait for me, I’m coming over right away.”
Saying that, Hu Fei slapped Li Min’s buttock hard and made fun of her, saying, “You seductive wench. With your tempting look. Wait for me. Tonight, I’m going to make you feel so alive.”
As soon as Hu Fei returned to the company and opened the door, his arrogant voice echoed, “Who on earth dares to check my accounts?”
Hearing this, Tang Guangming’s face darkened, and in his mind ridiculed the bonehead. Even though Hu Fei’s father had been reassigned, he was still acting so brazenly. Tang Guangming stood up, looked at Hu Fei and said, “Mr. Hu, I’m from the local tax bureau’s inspection team. Please provide all annual financial statements and tax records of your company. We are conducting a routine check. Please cooperate with our work.”
Hu Fei’s face darkened at this point, he stormed over to Tang Guangming and roared, “Is it you, Team Leader Tang? Very well. You dare to cross swords with me.”
To everyone’s surprise, Hu Fei suddenly attacked and slapped Tang Guangming on the face. A clear slap. This left everyone in the Feitian Company and the tax inspection team in shock. (
What do you think?
