Chapter 281 SOS
"Geh! Already?" Roka whispered to herself.
"Hey!" Rea shouted, struggling to keep her eyes open. "Are we seriously getting an SOS so soon?"
"Yes." Roka answered with a frown, staring at the bracelet around her wrist. "Something must have gone wrong."
"Or they're just trying it out." Jay shrugged. "No reason to get alarmed."
"No reason…?" Roka clicked her tongue. "There's no way Liz would use it just to try it out. In the first place, if she were to try it out, she would have done so before leaving, not after."
"Sounds like trouble." Raya said as she walked towards the group, her bracelet beeping. "What do we do, Commander?"
Before Roka could answer, two crewmates took over.
"We go save them!"
"We believe in them and therefore don't do anything."
Both Kris and Jay frowned at each other.
"We have to go help them."
"We don't." Jay yawned. "If they got themselves in trouble, it's their problem."
"How can you say that after everything that has happened so far?!"
"It's BECAUSE of everything that has happened so far that I'm saying this." Jay explained. "This planet is supposed to be a short and easy stop. To get in trouble, you really have to look for trouble. So it's their fault that they found trouble."
"So what?!" Kris shouted. "You think we should just leave them?!"
"Exactly." Jay nodded. "The mission is the most important thing. We can't put that in jeopardy just because a Soldier put herself in trouble."
"There's Cero as well!"
"Sure… Maybe she shouldn't have followed him then."
"Without him, we would-"
"Without him, we're going to do just fine. Maybe we should consider the option that he has done his job, expended his use."
Kris was so stunned he couldn't utter a word.@@novelbin@@
He turned towards the other crewmates, waiting for them to back him up. But no one did.
"Wha…?" Kris frowned. "Where did they-"
The ground suddenly started shaking.
"W-What the fuck?!" Jay shouted, scared out of his mind. "We're taking off?!"
"Hell, yeah! Haha!" Kris celebrated as he ran towards the command room.

"We don't know their exact location, so we'll still have to go out and search for them." Rea said as she navigated the spaceship.
"Yeah…" Roka whispered, staring at the large screen showcasing the different signals it was connected to.
"They're still together." Raya pointed at the screen. "That's a plus."
"Hey!" Jay shouted as he entered the command room. "I wasn't done-"
"No one asked for your opinion, Jay." Rea said coldly without turning away from the command board.
"That's fucked up, I have a right to be heard and-"
"Just stop, Jay." Kris interrupted. "If we had followed you once, we'd all be dead by now. When are you going to realize that?"
"You can't know that since you never followed me! It's entirely possible that the mission would have already been completed by now, were I the Commander!" Kris scoffed. "Plus, you know that I'm right. They went searching for trouble and found it. Why should we put ourselves in danger for them? Why should we put our people in danger, when we finally have the Tsero Crystal?"
"We wouldn't have it if it weren't for Cero and Liz." Kris sighed.
"So? We have it now. We needed them before, but now-"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Rea shouted. "I'm trying to navigate without getting too far from the ground and without getting too close to those fucking trees so why don't you shut the fuck up and go bicker elsewhere?!"
"Like I said, I have a right to-"
"Jay tried to fuck the female Granilith." Rea interrupted after a sigh.
"He what?"
"You did what?" Kris asked in utter disbelief.
Jay's mind and body had suddenly frozen.
"I have the video as well."
The disgusted gazes stuck on Jay were more than he could handle.
He coughed, turned around, and left the command room.
"A-Are you serious?" Roka asked.
"Is now really the time to think about that?" Rea clicked her tongue. "I'm so tired and sleepy… Alright, should be around here."
The spaceship got closer and closer to the ground, burning all the flora around the landing spot.
Grabbing whatever weapons they found nearest, Roka, Raya, Rea, and Kris ran out of the spaceship.
Kris wasn't convinced that he could be of use, but he still couldn't remain inside while Cero was in danger.

Minutes earlier,
"You're about to start tripping balls."
"Haha!" Liz laughed as she walked out of the cloud. "Well, sure. Why not? I've never tripped balls before."
The Soldier waved her hand as she stepped back. The cloud slowly dissipated.
Her eyes suddenly widened, and her hand moved towards the bracelet.
Something was wrong.
She opened her mouth, but no words came out.
'I'm not choking or anything. What is-'
Her body started violently trembling, and Cero jumped to her, taking hold of her arms.
"Liz!" He shouted. "What's happening? Are you alright?"
Cero waved a hand in front of her dazed face. She suddenly lost all strength in her legs. He shook her body.
Liz blinked, and stood back up.
"You scared me there." Cero whispered with narrow eyes.
He let go of her, and Liz walked away.
Before she could take hold of the weapon bag, her body went limp, and she fell to her knees.
"Liz-" He lay a hand on her shoulder, and he couldn't utter a word more.
She had suddenly turned around, her eyes shining brightly with a violent red.

Alarmed by haggard and pained breaths heard through the vines, the crewmates approached Liz and Cero's location.
A sudden gasp exited Kris' mouth at the scene.
"W… What happened here?" Roka asked as she walked closer. Stay tuned for updates on My Virtual Library Empire
Liz was standing with her back to them, completely still and immobile.
A dozen steps away from her was Cero, on the ground, with a mechanical machete, the only weapon capable of piercing through Granilith skin, embedded in his chest.
What do you think?
