Chapter 167: Chapter 168: The Child Will Call Daddy

Shao He grew even more suspicious that the person from that night was Pei Huaian, but she now had no evidence to prove it.

As she pondered how to proceed, she suddenly saw a familiar figure outside the door.

When Pei Huaian saw her, he was extremely surprised but quickly regained his composure and asked, “Why did you come back so early today?”

“The clinic didn’t have many patients today, so I thought I’d come back and spend some time with the child,” Shao He explained.

Qingxia, in the lead, whispered to the two beside her, “Shall we come back later?”

Pei Huaian anxiously asked, “Xiao Linzhang, what did you just call me?”

Xiao Linzhang cocked his head, thought hard, and then with a vigorous nod of his little head, he affirmed, “Daddy.”

Shao He was stunned by his repeated calling of “Daddy” and asked in astonishment, “No one taught him, so how did he suddenly start saying daddy?”

“Perhaps the child is innately gifted. It’s normal for an eight-month-old to call mother, and now that he’s over nine months, calling father is also normal,” Pei Huaian explained with a light cough.

Facing his explanation, Shao He didn’t believe it and even suspected Pei Huaian had coached the child, though she didn’t show it on her face.

“What’s so strange about that? Many children start speaking early. Once they call for mother, calling for father comes next,” Pei Huaian insisted.
