Chapter 33: Chapter 34: Make Sure People See Your Face Clearly
That night, Shao He ran back and forth, and after several trials, she finally developed it.
As dawn broke, she returned to her room yawning, and saw the child still deep in sleep.
Three days later, while Shao He was seeing patients, a group of thugs suddenly burst in.
The leader, seeing the person on the chair, walked over with a lecherous smile, “So you are the one who claims to be a Divine Doctor?”
Shao He, watching him waving a dagger in front of her, felt inexplicably irritated and said coldly, “Get out!”
The leader stared at her for a while, then suddenly reached out towards her fair cheek. @@novelbin@@
Disgusted, Shao He stood up to dodge and said with icy eyes, “Leave now, or don’t blame me for being rude!”
The man not only didn’t leave but instead sat on the desk, touching his chin and licking his lips, “I can leave, but how about a kiss first?”
His words instantly made the other thugs burst into laughter, followed by another thug saying, “How can we miss out on such a fragrant kiss?”
“Exactly, brother, let’s all have a good time with the little lady.”
The thugs talked over each other while Shao He watched the several thugs surrounding her, a flash of anger in her eyes.
“Get out!”
One of the thugs looked at her with a grin, “Yo, quite feisty, huh? Wonder if kissing you feels good.”
“Right, big brother, you wanted to have fun, right? Let’s have a blast.”
Shao He’s eyes filled with frost.
The leader, shaken by her gaze, was about to reach for her shoulder when, the next moment, he was flung through the air.
“Bang”
The man slammed against the wall and fell heavily.
The rest of the thugs, staring at Shao He, were stunned.
The leader picked himself up from the ground and pointing at her yelled, “You, you damn girl, dare to hit me? Get her, kill this bitch! Smash her damned clinic!”
As the thugs charged at her, Shao He’s eyes burst forth with intense killing intent, the temperature around her rising sharply, and the next moment, all the thugs were down.
Just then, the sound of footsteps approached, and she looked up.
A group of patrolling constables walked in, frowning as they surveyed the scene, “What happened here?”
The leader, upon seeing the constables, got up from the ground and quickly accused her, “Officer, not only did this woman refuse to treat us, she also injured me.”
Upon hearing the commotion in the inner hall, Yun Qian handed the child over to Master Liu and hurried to the scene.
He arrived just in time to hear the thugs distorting the truth and strode over, “It’s clear that you were the ones bullying her first, all the locals here can testify.”
“It was her who injured us, we didn’t do anything!” The leader said arrogantly.
“Take them away,” the constable waved his hand.
As the thugs gloated, the constable seized them and led them away, ignoring their cries of innocence.
The leading constable bowed to Shao He and Yun Qian, speaking politely, “If anyone dares to trouble you again, just let me know.”
“Thank you,” Shao He nodded slightly in gratitude.
She suspected that this incident was connected to Luo Jiner, as these were her usual tactics.
And these constables were surely helping because of the man in the mask.
Relieved as the thugs were taken away, Yun Qian looked Shao He over and asked with concern, “Are you alright? Did they do anything to you?”
“They didn’t do anything to me, rather I injured them. Those thugs were no match for me.”
Hiding in the crowd, Luo Jiner’s eyes widened in shock, not expecting the situation to turn out this way, angrily twisting the embroidered handkerchief in her hands.
She had thought she would see Shao He disgraced, yet the situation had turned out like this.
Furious, she stormed into an alley and turned sharply to her maid Qiu Zhu, shouting, “Didn’t you find out that Anji Hall had no backing? How did this happen!”
With her head lowered, Qiu Zhu’s voice trembled, “Miss, I don’t know what happened. Perhaps, Anji Hall’s owner gave money to the official residence.”
Clearly dissatisfied with this answer, Luo Jiner walked up and raised her hand, hitting Qiu Zhu’s head as she scolded, “It’s all your fault for not investigating properly. Otherwise, how could this have happened?”
“Yes, yes, it’s all my fault,” Qiu Zhu didn’t dare resist, knowing too well that contradicting her mistress would lead to severe consequences.
Luo Jiner, knowing that scolding her maid further would be futile, turned her eyes and another scheme came to mind.
“Go and do something for me. If you handle it well, I won’t only spare you from blame, but I’ll also give you an extra tael of silver in your monthly money,” Luo Jiner said with a beaming smile.
Seeing her mistress’s seemingly gentle demeanor, Qiu Zhu shuddered, knowing this façade was far more terrifying, yet she had no ground to refuse.
“Please tell me, Miss.”
“Disguise yourself as a patient and seek treatment from the female doctor inside, making sure that people see your face,” Luo Jiner resolved, determined to bring Shao He down this time.
What do you think?
