Abigail regretted not using more strength earlier, making Ruby lose her voice entirely. That way, she couldn’t say anything else.

While various thoughts clashed in Abigail’s mind, the man holding her hand paused.

On the floor behind them, the slumped Ruby thought Brandon had believed her and a smug smile emerged on her face. “Second Young Master, believe me, I am telling the truth!”

“Oh.” Brandon coolly responded.

Abigail heard this and looked up at the man beside her in a daze.

Then she saw Brandon release her hand, and her heart ached slightly.

Brandon turned around, walked back to Ruby, and looked at the disheveled woman, “Do you know what your most laughable point is?”

Ruby, who thought Brandon believed her, “…”
