Chapter 723 Encouraging childbirth (1/2)

18th October 1660

Shourya Royal Palace, Imperial Capital Bengaluru

Kavya, in a good mood, was writing an outline for the next novel she had thought of. It was about an introverted boy who was abused by his caretakers and would eventually go on to find out his unusual background and enter a Jadhu (Magic) Academy.

She was very excited about this story because she felt like the worldview for this novel was as grand as, if not grander than, the world of Bahubali she had previously built.

However, just when she was about to write down the last line on the page, she suddenly felt nauseous. She quickly ran to the bathroom and retched out everything she had eaten that morning. But thinking about her unusual menstrual cycle and her unusual mood swings, a smile as beautiful as a Jasmine under the morning glow appeared on her face.

Vijay, who was checking out the reports sent by Selvan, was suddenly taken aback when Ganesh barged into his room with barely any knocking.

His face immediately turned displeased because, even though he was quite lenient in his day-to-day affairs when he interacted with Ganesh, he never allowed his subordinates to be out of line. But hearing the next words that came out of Ganesh's mouth, his pen, which he was holding in his hand, dropped to the ground, and he slumped back onto his backrest with a wide smile on his face.

"Your Majesty, we just received the message that Her Majesty, the Empress, is pregnant. It is confirmed by the Royal Physician."

Vijay knew that he was looking very silly with his smile right now, but he really did not care. He was already in his 30s, and his wife, Khavya, was in her late 20s. And he still only had a single heir, which was of great concern to his relatives and to the kingdom as a whole because only one heir was not insurance enough for the people.

Vijay knew this, so he didn't mind having more children, but unfortunately, due to his genetic alteration from his reincarnation, time travel, or rebirth, it was much harder for him to have offspring. He had been engaging with Khavya for the last few years after Agni was born, but sadly, there was no news.

Vijay himself, who already knew the truth about his condition, was feeling disappointed, not to mention Kavya. He could imagine the depression she was feeling—perhaps only the existence of Agni kept her hopes up. But now, after two long years, finally receiving good news, he couldn't hold back his emotions and almost shed a tear. Fortunately, using all his willpower and self-control, he stopped himself and politely asked Ganesh to leave.

Ganesh knew that His Majesty wanted to be alone and exited the room while slowly closing the door.

The next moment, the sound of laughter was heard from within the room, which lasted for a whole 10 minutes.@@novelbin@@

Vijay wanted to go home and immediately meet with his wife, but unfortunately, he had important matters that he had to discuss, and he had already called the Cabinet Ministers for the meeting. Now, it wouldn't be good for him to skip the meeting just because he wanted to see his wife.

Fortunately, he still had an hour to calm down, and that was exactly what he did. While playing some chess with a few people in the royal palace, he finally managed to take his mind off the news.

"Your Majesty, the ministers are here," Ganesh reported. "Should I lead them to the conference room?"

Vijay thought about it for a while and nodded.

Walking towards the conference room, Vijay suddenly smiled because Kavya's pregnancy couldn't have happened at a better time. The matter he wanted to discuss was to encourage childbirth and put forward policies to boost the population of the Bharatiya Empire as part of his long-term goals for the empire.

Now Kavya would be a prime example of this initiative,

If anyone were to see the faces of all the people who had gathered in the conference room of the Royal Palace, they would be shocked because each and everyone was a Cabinet Minister responsible for a ministry. Seeing any of them together was a big event that made headlines, but now, seeing all of them together—if the journalists knew about it, they would lose their freaking minds.

As soon as Vijay entered the conference room, everyone stood up and greeted, "Long live Your Majesty! Long live! Long live!"

Vijay waved his hand and motioned everyone to sit down.

"Thank you, everyone, for meeting with me as soon as I made the request."

"Now, without any further ado, let's get to the main topic," Vijay said, as he was in no mood to waste time, especially not today.

Vijay rolled down the presentation screen that had been prepared before and pointed a stick at it.

"Encourage childbirth—this is the major policy of the Bharatiya Empire that I have decided to adopt for a long time."

This immediately shocked a lot of ministers; their faces were filled with disbelief, and even some mouths were agape.

Vinod immediately asked with an unbelievable gaze, "Your Majesty, don't we already have a large enough population? Why should we encourage childbirth? Wouldn't it just increase the burden on the empire?"

All the Cabinet Ministers agreed with Vinod and looked at Vijay, waiting to see how he would respond.

"What the Prime Minister said is absolutely true," Vijay directly agreed, but the next moment, he shook his head and turned the presentation, showing the map of the world separated into three distinct colours. "Unfortunately, it is only true if you consider that all the people will stay in the subcontinent."

Minister S. Jaishankar's eyes immediately lit up as he caught an inspiration. "Your Majesty, you mean we will be sending our people overseas?" he asked in an excited tone.

Hearing the question, all the other Cabinet Ministers became enlightened too. They suddenly became excited because if that was the case, it could only mean that His Majesty wanted to finally expand the empire.

Looking at the eager eyes of most Cabinet Ministers, Vijay smiled and said nothing. Instead, he pointed at the presentation and explained, "Christianity, Judaism, and Islam—all three religions started in the region of Arabia, and all three have taken three different paths."

"Christianity went towards Europe, and finally, after many decades and multiple centuries, it fully gained dominance in the European continent. Islam completely took over the religious scope of Arabia, Asia Minor, and even the subcontinent, which we had to fend off. Judaism is different since it is not an expansionist culture."

"But my point is, in the cases of both Christianity and Islam, the Westerners see these religions as a civilization itself. Christianity has formed the Western Civilization, and Islam has founded the Arabian Civilization. The Western Civilization has spread across the vast land of Europe and has now set foot on an even vaster land—the Americas. Right now, both North and South America are experiencing the bloodshed and terror brought by these hypocritical white men who preach all about love and forgiveness."

"The Arabian Civilization has already wiped out all indigenous cultures of Arabia, has already wiped out all cultures in Asia Minor and Central Asia, and has even put its grasp on the subcontinent and Southeast Asian countries. Fortunately, with the rise of the Bharatiya Empire, this has been stopped. However, its havoc on North Africa's indigenous population has not stopped. One of the brightest pearls of civilization, the Egyptian Civilization, is on the brink of existence due to the complete Islamization of Egypt."

"Now, why I am saying all of this is, in the case of both the Western Civilization and the Arabian Civilization, they have already moved past national boundaries and have already become international. Even if Italy is destroyed tomorrow and the Vatican gets obliterated, it does not affect Western Civilization in any way. Instead, it only strengthens it."

"The same thing applies to the Arabian Civilization. The Mughal Empire ceased to exist a few years ago, but did it affect the traditional Islamists and their thoughts in any way? No, instead, their will to obliterate has only become stronger, clearly evident by their tactics used in breaching the frontline of the Persian Kingdom and the Lalishsthan Kingdom."

"But what do we have? Once the subcontinent falls, then there is no longer the civilization of knowledge seekers, there is no longer Sanathana Dharma, and there is no longer any backbone to any Dharmic cultures in the world, as we are the backbone of Dharma."

"We can think our faith and belief will last forever since what we believe is absolutely true, just as carbon was carbon 1,000 years ago and will be carbon 1,000 years later. But unfortunately, can anyone promise that the Bharatiya Empire will be the Bharatiya Empire even 1,000 or 2,000 years later? Who can say this? At such a time, when the Bharatiya Empire has weakened, what will these opportunistic enemies do, given that they have more disaster resistance? Think about it."

"Mughal Empire was a great catastrophe not only to the kingdoms of the subcontinent but also to the cultures, traditions, and societies that believed in the truth of Vasudeva Kutumbakam."

"With the rule of these Turkic Barbarians, we were almost completely led astray into a dark and depressing future, leaving us forgetting that we have backbones, forgetting that we have self-worth, and forgetting that we are warriors too, not just some idealistic saints who believe everything can be solved with peace."

"Maybe if things had gone on like before, we would have been colonized by those hypocritical white men who have hypnotized themselves into thinking they are our benefactors. And a few centuries later, maybe a politically minded, scheming, extremely idealistic old man carrying a walking stick, claiming that nonviolence and non-cooperation would solve everything, instead of a tough and determined man who takes matters into his own hands to remove the shackles from our motherland, wouldn't be born."

"Maybe in the future, things would get so distorted that we would even forget that our mother language is Sanskrit, and most people would even forget such a language existed. Maybe they would even forget that it is not called Sanskrit like the Westerners call it, but saṃskṛtam."

"Maybe people would even question why such a language would exist."

"Maybe if we actually fought for our independence, these horrifying things would not have happened, and maybe we would have more pride in our victory. Maybe if we had stood our ground, we would not have to bow our heads to the communist shits. Maybe if some guy had a backbone and was not a complete crowd-pleaser, we would have Nepal and Kashmir."

"So many maybes—this is not what I want, and I will never allow it to be the reality."

"So, the Bharatiya Empire will start its expansion—not its territorial expansion, but its cultural and civilizational expansion. And the direction of the expansion is right beside us—it's the Southeast and towards the largest island in the world."

Vijay might not have realized it, since he was too caught up in the moment, but he had said a lot of things that made no sense to the Cabinet ministers, as many of the names he mentioned were things they had never known. But still...

To Be continued...

P.S. It felt chilling to describe, but unfortunately, we live in the reality described by Vijay.
