Chapter 921: Chapter 915 Xiao Qi’s family_1
When Chu Molin arrived at Xiao Qi’s home, he found him just up and preparing to wash. He looked at him, arching an eyebrow.
“Younger bro, did you go out thieving last night? Those dark circles under your eyes are quite intense,” Chu Molin observed Xiao Qi, wondering how long it had been since he had slept. This wasn’t like when they were soldiers on a mission, yet he was still staying up late, not resting.
“It’s nothing, I just had a nightmare and couldn’t sleep in the second half of the night,” Xiao Qi had been frequently dreaming of Chu Beiying recently. All sorts of Chu Beiying scenes, even her in traditional wedding attire. He awakened to realize it was just a dream and couldn’t fall back asleep.
He didn’t understand why, despite deliberately not thinking about her recently, the dreams about her seemed to become more frequent, almost driving him to neurosis.
“Are you sure?” Chu Molin asked, his eyes drifting to the undergarments hanging in the yard still dripping with water.
“Uh…” Xiao Qi was choked up and unable to speak.
...
“Tell me, have you fallen for a certain lady?” Chu Molin observed his expression, it seemed he had been deeply tormented.
“All I know is that her name is Chu Beiying, but I don’t know which Chu family she belongs to. There is only one prestigious family in the Imperial Capital – yours. I had someone investigate but they couldn’t find a woman named Chu Beiying,” Xiao Qi had never inquired about Chu Beiying’s background in the past. It was only after her frequent appearance in his dreams that he decided to look into her, but no one seemed to know a woman named Chu Beiying.
“Could her name be a pseudonym?” Chu Molin suggested, recalling Qin Xue mentioned her BFF named Yingying. That time his wife had also dreamt of a girl named Yingying, pleading for his wife to rescue her. Could the woman in Xiao Qi’s description be the same girl? Could she also be here? But was it possible? Chu Molin was beginning to wonder if the world was really turning into fantasy.
“I doubt it. She had no reason to trick me with a fake name,” Xiao Qi was certain Chu Beiying was her real name, or perhaps her family was not from the Imperial Capital. But how was he supposed to find her among all the Chu’s around the world?
“Enough, stop obsessing. How’s the shop renovation going? When will it be finished?” Chu Molin did not mention about the Yingying that Qin Xue mentioned, but instead asked what he had originally intended.
“There are two days left for everything to be completed, An’an’s is also ready,” Xiao Qi never thought that An Hao would also open a store, and it was even a niche one.
“Don’t worry, do you still not trust Qin Xue’s eyes?” Chu Molin was aware of Qin Xue’s capabilities now, everything she proposed was future-oriented, it couldn’t possibly make a loss.
“Well, let her manage then. I never thought Auntie would want to have another child. Upon hearing this news, An’an was almost driven to despair. Now that she is opening a shop, she will have something to occupy her mind,” Xiao Qi came to know about An Hao’s thoughts through Li Zhao’s words. They had all overlooked her feelings, thankfully she was with Qin Xue.
“When Qin Xue let me tell Zhaozi, I didn’t know that Zhaozi would be so busy that he wouldn’t have time to accompany An’an.” Chu Molin voiced his relief that Qin Xue didn’t have all these messy issues when she was pregnant, otherwise his busy schedule would have been even worse than Li Zhao’s.
“Big bro, did you come to see me today just to ask about sister-in-law’s shop?” Xiao Qi looked at Chu Molin and had a feeling there was more to this.
“Yes,” Chu Molin candidly admitted he came for this very reason. His wife was sick now, if there were still many tasks left, he could help out, so she could rest at home.
“This doesn’t seem like something you’d typically do,” Upon hearing his straightforward admission, Xiao Qi felt his presumption was perhaps misplaced.
What do you think?
