“So how should we divide the responsibilities for taking care of the parents?” Yun Lei put forth.

Meng Yunhan glanced at them all, “The responsibility of supervision falls on the daughter who’s already married off. As for elderly care, however much my elder and second brothers provide, I’ll match. If I don’t have any extra food, I’ll simply convert that to money and give it to our mother. Gifts for festivals and such should be calculated separately.”

“You were the one who said that you’d take care of our parents. Why should we do it now?” Zhang Cuihua detached herself from Yun Hai, clearly unwilling to bear the responsibility.

Yun Men snorted coldly, “Sister-in-law, don’t make me expose your faults.”

Zhang Cuihua didn’t believe she had anything to hide, “I have no faults.”

Yun Men looked straight at her elder brother, “Big Brother, I don’t know if you’re aware or not, but I often see sister-in-law carrying big and small packages back to her maiden home pretty frequently. Normally, I wouldn’t mention it. After all, she did give birth to two sons for us, the Yun Family. But she seems to care very little for us, and much more for her own.”

Barely able to contain his anger, Yun Hai slapped Zhang Cuihua. Zhao Fang, who was sitting close by, jumped up in shock. It was the first time she had seen Yun Hai so vicious.

“Zhang Cuihua, how many times have I told you not to take things from our house to your maiden home? It seems you didn’t listen.”

Zhang Cuihua was infuriated.

“Meng Yunhan, just because you were accepted into a university doesn’t make you superior,” she retorted.

Meng Yunhan countered coldly, “If you could get into a university, I’d be impressed.”

Yun Men marveled at Meng Yunhan, admiring her greatly. Yun Shuang had never seen this side of her younger sibling before.

She was relieved to see her younger sister being so assertive and sharp. She felt confident that Yunhan could hold her own in college.

Yun Shuang knew that Zhang Cuihua often took things back to her maiden home as she lived next door to them. Gossip travels fast when people live close to each other.

“My son will get into a university,” she boasted.

“Sister-in-law, you’ll need to step up your efforts. Otherwise, you might not be able to afford college fees when your nephews get in,” Yunhan warned.

Little did Yunhan know, but she had touched upon a serious future issue without even realizing it.

Yun Men whispered, “But isn’t college free?”

Yun Han seriously answered, “Right now it is because they’ve just resumed college entrance exams. In a few years, you’ll have to pay your own way.” She just refrained from pointing out the obvious.
