Reborn to outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight

Chapter 14 - 14 14 Force Her to Make Peace

Chapter 14: Chapter 14 Force Her to Make Peace Chapter 14: Chapter 14 Force Her to Make Peace The police were very efficient. As soon as Lin Zhiyi agreed to the settlement, they brought the settlement document over.

One of them was the female officer who had taken Lin Zhiyi’s statement.

With good intentions, she reminded, “Are you sure you’ve thought this through?”

Holding the pen, Lin Zhiyi’s hand trembled slightly as she said with a bitter smile, “I’ve thought it through. Let it be.”

Who made her just an ant in other people’s hands now?

Without giving herself a chance to regret, Lin Zhiyi quickly signed her name.

The female officer sighed and left with the settlement document.

Then, Liu He entered the ward with a food container.

Their eyes met, and Liu He’s eyes turned red with guilt.

“Zhiyi…”

“I know everything. Is uncle okay?” Lin Zhiyi asked.

Wiping away her tears and pouring the porridge, Liu He sighed, “He’s alright, got a scolding. You know how the old man is. It’s all Zhao Cheng’s fault—scum! He looks decent, but he turns out to be such a person.”

Lin Zhiyi, feeling exhausted, said, “Mom, I don’t want to get married.”

Liu He dared not bring up the topic again, casually saying, “I know, I know. Anyway, now the public opinion has shifted to Song Wanqiu; it doesn’t involve us. If you don’t want to marry, then don’t. I was just worried the family might think you’re pining for someone you shouldn’t.”

With that, she placed the bowl of clear porridge into Lin Zhiyi’s hands.

Lin Zhiyi had no appetite and pondered over Liu He’s words.

“Mom, what’s happened with public opinion?”

“At last, there are some sensible people online who say Song Wanqiu wanted to force a marriage, so she caused such a big stir. Now, everyone’s scolding her for being shameless. Being with Lao San made so many people jealous, now that she’s caught, why wouldn’t they take the chance to attack her? I always said she had an air about her.”

Liu He tsk-tsked with disapproval.

However, Lin Zhiyi felt something was amiss and quickly asked for her phone to check the news online.

Sure enough, many netizens were commenting that Song Wanqiu had no decorum, eager to marry…

The public opinion had changed overnight.

Liu He took her phone away and urged, “Eat something quickly. Why bother with her?”

Lin Zhiyi frowned and said, “My little uncle loves Song Wanqiu so much; how can I not care?”

“What do you mean by that?” Liu He asked suspiciously.

“Mom, don’t you often have meals with your former colleagues? Help me ask around about Song Wanqiu privately.”

Liu He had the chance to know Gong Shiyan, largely because Liu He was once an attendant at a luxury shop.

These people, seemingly insignificant, had access to the homes of the wealthy and celebrities and were particularly savvy about high society gossip and celebrity affairs.

Liu He nodded, “Okay.”

As she replied, the nurse came in with an IV drip.

“Second Madam, Miss Lin.”

“Mhm,” Liu He nodded.

While the nurse was hooking up the IV for Lin Zhiyi, she joked, “One of my colleagues just saw Third Young Master in the parking lot.”

Liu He couldn’t help but interject, “Lao San hasn’t left yet?”

The nurse adjusted the IV drip speed, laughing, “Third Young Master and Miss Song were wrapped up in love, looking like a perfect match.”

Liu He glanced at Lin Zhiyi and replied somewhat unnaturally.

Lin Zhiyi ate her porridge with her head down, showing little emotion.

Once the IV was done, Lin Zhiyi decided to return to school, as she hadn’t yet finished her work for the competition.

Liu He couldn’t persuade her otherwise and had no choice but to send her back to school.

“Call me if anything happens.”

“I will.”

Lin Zhiyi closed the car door and walked toward the university. She’d only taken a few steps when the sound of a car horn came from behind her.

She turned around and saw Gong Chen’s car.

She didn’t want to deal with it, but Chen Jin, as if anticipating her reaction, was already waiting at the university entrance.

Seeing through her defiance, he still advised, “Miss Lin, you know what Third Young Master’s temper is like.”

Lin Zhiyi scoffed in self-mockery, pushed his hand away, and started walking.

Chen Jin hesitated to speak.

But a figure was quicker than him, grabbing Lin Zhiyi’s wrist in one swift move.

The familiar presence made Lin Zhiyi’s body uncontrollably shudder.

Other than fear, there was hatred.

She turned around to face Gong Chen’s displeased dark eyes.

Early morning, not many were at the university entrance.

A weary Lin Zhiyi was dragged into the car by Gong Chen. No matter how much she struggled, there was always a force pulling her back.

She raised her eyes and only then did she realize he seemed to be toying with her, as if her struggles were merely a means to attract his attention.

She was truly tired, so she simply let her arms fall.

Third Young Master then pulled her in front of him, lifted her face, and touched the redness on her forehead where it had been hit.

“It looks like you still don’t learn your lesson. Why did you leave the hospital?”

He spoke casually, as if he wasn’t the one who had advocated for their reconciliation outside the hospital room.

Lin Zhiyi looked at him as if she couldn’t see through him in either of their lifetimes.

Seeing that she didn’t speak, Third Young Master squeezed her chin with a bit more force.

She was like a doll in Third Young Master’s hands, to be manipulated as he pleased.

Lin Zhiyi felt humiliated and bit down on her teeth before forcefully slapping his hand.

There was a sharp slap, resounding loudly inside the car.

The entire cabin fell silent.

Four finger marks were left on the back of Third Young Master’s fair hand.

Lin Zhiyi panicked for a moment, then immediately turned her face away.

“Uncle, thank you for your concern, you’re so busy, I won’t disturb you any longer.”

After saying that, she tried to open the door.

But unexpectedly, with a click, the door locked.

Chen Jin seemed to have heard the sound of the door locking from outside, and tactfully turned to leave.

The enclosed space suddenly reminded Lin Zhiyi of the feeling of Zhao Cheng pressing down on her.

Third Young Master sat upright, leisurely lit a cigarette, and soon the entire car was filled with smoke, obscuring his expression.

However, Lin Zhiyi could hear his scoff, “After drugging me and crawling into bed, you don’t recognize me?”

“It wasn’t me!” Lin Zhiyi argued, but her tone was one of helplessness.

“Evidence.”

“…”

She had none.

She had no idea what had happened, nor why she had ended up in Third Young Master’s room.

Moreover… in the end, she had been willing.

Her love and reluctance had all turned into accusations against her.

Third Young Master exhaled a puff of smoke, his gaze moved darkly across her face, and impatiently said, “Come back with me.”

Lin Zhiyi stiffened her neck and spoke deliberately, “I don’t want to, uncle, don’t forget that you have a fiancée who deeply loves you, do you have the heart to make her suffer?”

She was taking a risk, provoking Third Young Master, and then hoping he would let her go.

Through the thin mist, his deep pupils emitted a cold light, threatening and chilling, making Lin Zhiyi shiver without even fighting.

Just when she thought Third Young Master might be angry, he instead let out an unfathomable light laugh.

His handsome face was as calm as still water.

He even reached out to encircle Lin Zhiyi’s waist and looked at her face to face.

Their breaths mingled, Lin Zhiyi’s eyelashes trembled lightly, her beautiful face pale and broken, all the more enticing.

Third Young Master’s gaze moved down, resting on the collar of her clothing she tried to conceal, his eyes deep and unashamedly revealing his burning desire.

He leaned close to Lin Zhiyi’s neck and said in a hoarse voice, “When you were in my bed, why didn’t you think about my fiancée? Lin Zhiyi, are you sure you don’t want this?”

Lin Zhiyi swallowed hard.

Almost instantly, a warm dominance fell on her throat.

Third Young Master breathed heavily, his ink-dark eyes roiling, his kisses aggressively traveling downwards.

The spot on Lin Zhiyi’s chest that had been touched by Zhao Cheng, he ruthlessly stamped with his own mark.

“Let go… let go…”

Her voice was broken, but she didn’t stop struggling, she had to leave!

But how could a man with intentions ever stop?

He didn’t care about Lin Zhiyi’s resistance; he simply wanted to make her understand the consequences of provoking him.

Until, suddenly, a series of urgent rings interrupted.

Third Young Master caressed Lin Zhiyi’s skin and languidly answered the phone.

In an instant, Song Wanqiu’s voice full of terror rang out.

“Third Young Master, save me! Someone is trying to kill me! Ah!”

The man’s desire was hard to halt, but Third Young Master could stop for Song Wanqiu.

He not only halted but, disregarding Lin Zhiyi’s disheveled clothes, ordered Chen Jin to get in the car and drive.

Lin Zhiyi huddled in the corner, clutching her clothes, nearly chewing her inner lip to shreds.
