Chapter 212 209-Singularity Battlefield: Snagging a Little Loli as My Disciple
"It's not just the luxury points," Velen muttered to himself. "Once Justin finishes those three sculptures, I'll get another 300 bottles of god-rank potions that boost strength. I wonder how effective those potions are... Might as well test them on Anastasia and Iron Cub first."
With that thought, Velen activated a Spatial Portal.
Moments later, he appeared near the teleportation hub of the Singularity Battlefield. Without wasting time, he rushed excitedly toward the teleportation base in the distance.
Sector Six of the Singularity Battlefield.
"System, if I use mana crystals to hire someone to help kill three hundred spellbeasts of my rank, does that still count as completing the mission?"
As soon as Velen arrived, he had a question ready for the system.
Ding!
"As long as the final blow is dealt by the host, luxury points will be awarded. Once you reach three hundred such kills, the mission is considered complete."
Hearing the response, Velen immediately began planning to hire a muscle-bound helper.
Sure, he could easily kill spellbeasts of his own rank, but as the Tycoon of Wasteful Spending, the mere act of delivering the final blow was already a huge sign of respect to those poor spellbeasts!
A moment later…
Velen picked up on some unusual noises in the distance and curiously ran toward the commotion.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
What he saw made him chuckle.
A massive Bruteforce Ape spellbeast was chasing a little girl in a white dress—but hilariously, every punch missed her by a wide margin.
"Stupid monkey! Come and catch me if you can!"
Panting and visibly exhausted, the Bruteforce Ape came to a halt. The little girl turned around and stuck her tongue out at it in mockery.
Snap!
The Bruteforce Ape lost it.
"You're the stupid monkey!"
"Your whole family is made of stupid monkeys!"
"If I can't catch you, I'm out of here!"
The beast spun around and stomped off, leaving both the girl and Velen dumbfounded.
"You don't want to play with me either…?"
The little girl looked momentarily downcast, but quickly perked up with a bright smile, pumping her tiny fist.
"It's fine! If it won't play with me, I'll just find another spellbeast to play with!"
"Hahaha!"
"You damn human! I've finally caught you off guard!"
"You've mocked me long enough. I'm going to smash your head in with one punch!"
Just as she turned her attention elsewhere, the Bruteforce Ape launched a surprise counterattack. Its veiny arm bulged as it swung a massive punch at her head.
"Ahhh! No!"
The little girl screamed and shut her eyes in terror.
…Huh?
When she realized the punch never landed, she cautiously opened her eyes.
A tall figure now stood in front of her like a shield.
"Stupid monkey—take this!"
As Velen's voice rang out, a twenty-meter-long magic-formed sword appeared above the trio, radiating a terrifying aura of death.
Boom!
The massive blade dropped like a guillotine, turning the Bruteforce Ape into a pulpy mess.
Velen might not have learned any proper sword-type spells, but with his massive mana reserves, forming such a blade was no problem at all.
"Wow!"
The little girl's eyes lit up in wonder. She looked at Velen as if he were a newly discovered miracle. Her delight was utterly adorable.
"Big bro, you're amazing!"
She ran over and praised him, gazing at the pile of spellbeast mush in admiration.
Hearing this and seeing the pure awe on her face, Velen couldn't help but flash a proud grin.
A few minutes later.
Through their conversation, Velen learned the little girl's name was Lily, and that she had run away from an organization called the Magic Tower.
Despite possessing Titan Rank Level 9 strength, she had never killed a spellbeast before—let alone a person. Raised under the tower's constant protection, she was completely naive about the dangers of the outside world. Honestly, if she hadn't met Velen, someone could've sold her off and she'd still help count the money.
"Big bro, no one in the tower plays with me. Will you play with me?"
Lily looked up at Velen with hopeful eyes.
"Lily, you have no idea how dangerous the Singularity Battlefield is. You should hurry back home."
"Big bro still has wasting to do—no time to play!"
Velen smiled and gently ruffled her hair.
"Wasting?"
"What's wasting? Is it fun?"
The little girl tilted her head in confusion.
Hmm?
That question made Velen pause. Suddenly, a devilish grin spread across his face.
"Lily, wasting money is super fun. If you learn how to waste properly, everyone back at the Magic Tower will fight over who gets to play with you!"
"Really?!"
Lily's eyes sparkled. She clung to Velen's arm and shook it excitedly.
"Big bro, can you teach me how to waste too?"
"If you want to learn, you'll have to join my Tycoon Club first!"
"I'll make you an official disciple. In the club, you'll only need to listen to two senior sisters and a chubby big brother. Everyone else has to follow your orders. If you want someone to play with you—they have to do it!"
Before he could finish, Lily shouted excitedly:
"Big bro, I want to! I want to!"
Wait… did that actually work?
Velen stared blankly at the overly eager girl. He hadn't expected it to be this easy.
What he didn't know was that after he saved her earlier, Lily had already placed absolute trust in him.
But the real clincher? That one magical sentence:
"If you want someone to play with you—they have to."
A little while later.
"The Tycoon Mark is so fun!"
"It lights up when I spend! Red means too little, green is just right, yellow means I overpaid! Wasting money isn't hard at all!"
Delighted with her new discovery, Lily turned to Velen.
"Mentor, I already know how to waste now! I'm going to try it back at the Magic Tower!"
And with that, she vanished from the Singularity Battlefield.
…Wait, what?
She left?
I haven't even taught you how to waste properly yet!
Velen stood frozen, dumbstruck as he stared at the empty space where Lily had just been.
Now he was starting to wonder…
Did he trick a disciple into joining his club, or did she trick him into giving up a precious disciple slot?
Meanwhile, in the Starrealm.
As Lily stepped out of a Spatial Rift, three middle-aged men with sinister expressions surrounded her.
"W-Who are you?"
Lily asked, trembling but trying to remain calm.
"We're cosmic pirates!"
At that moment, she heard the familiar voice of the Tower Guardian Spellbeast echo in her mind.
"Miss, stay right there—I'm coming!"
Her face lit up in relief. With the spellbeast arriving soon, she'd be safe.
"A girl this young already at Titan Rank Level 9 peak?"
"No doubt, she's someone important."
"So what? Just means she's loaded!"
"Make it quick—kill her, grab everything she has, and get out!"
The "third brother" raised his hand and unleashed a bombardment spell, his face twisted into a bloodthirsty grin.
Boom! Boom!
The explosion engulfed Lily, tearing long gashes across her small body and flinging her into the air, unconscious.
None of the three pirates noticed: as her bloodied form flew through the air, strange crimson runes began to appear across her skin. Her tightly shut eyes suddenly opened again—and this time, they were cold as ice.
What do you think?
