Chapter 250 - Chapter247-If the Bond Is Strong, Down It in One Gulp!

Although Arthur had received plenty of treasures from Velen in the past, the knight commander still carried psychological scars from Velen's outrageous antics and shameless displays of wealth.

Every time Velen paid a visit, he didn't just distribute treasures—he tormented souls.

And Arthur?

He couldn't take it anymore.

All those priceless artifacts Velen used like candy?

Arthur's heart was on the verge of collapse.

He had hoped for a few peaceful days. Maybe—just maybe—he could escape the madness.

But fate wasn't on his side.

Velen was back.

And with him, came chaos.

Arthur had figured out the pattern long ago.

Whenever Velen appeared, it didn't matter whether you got something good or not—you'd suffer first.

Guaranteed.

"Commander Arthur! Long time no see—how've you been?"

Velen's hearty laughter rang out as he stepped through the swirling Spatial Rift.

Arthur didn't even blink.

"Lord Velen," he said calmly, "just tell me what you want to do this time. I'll cooperate fully, I promise."

He even closed his eyes, as if preparing for execution.

Like a hero walking to the gallows with noble dignity.

"Huh?"

Velen was genuinely confused.

What's going on?

He hadn't even said anything yet—and this guy was already assuming the worst?

Arthur's expression darkened in despair as Velen stood silent.

"Damn it, I was right…"

"He is here to torment me again!"

"What do I do? I'm panicking! What kind of twisted plan does this spoiled lunatic have this time?!"

"Commander Arthur," Velen finally said, "I do need your help today."

Arthur's legs almost gave out.

He forced a nod, voice trembling, "Y-you… just say it…"

"But you alone won't be enough," Velen added. "Bring the other four knight commanders. And the crown prince. Oh, and while you're at it, please invite the king of Uno Kingdom too."

Arthur staggered backward, looking at Velen as if he'd seen a ghost.

What?!

This time he wasn't the only target?

Even dragging in the other knight commanders? The prince?!

The king?!

Sweet mother of mercy!

Is Lord Velen planning to wipe out the entire top brass of the Uno Kingdom in one fell swoop?!

Tears welled in Arthur's eyes.

He could already hear the collective wails of their doomed leadership.

"Arthur, are you okay?"

Velen asked, concerned by the knight's tear-streaked face.

Arthur wiped his eyes and gritted his teeth. "I'll go right away!"

He took off into the sky like a man marching toward his own funeral.

Kris's Mansion

A blinding flash of magic nearly cleaved Arthur in half mid-air.

"Holy crap—I almost died!"

He dodged just in time and screamed down below:

"Kris! Are you out of your mind?! You nearly sliced me!"

"You're the crazy one!" Kris roared, his greatsword still sparking with mana.

"Arthur, you damned old bastard—are you trying to drag me down with you?!"

"I just felt Velen's aura appear! You know how terrifying that is? I was sitting in my garden praying he wouldn't come for me!"

"And now you show up?! Are you trying to ruin my day?!"

"You think I can't dodge responsibility even once?!"

"I should've cut you in half!"

Arthur yelled back, "Dodge what?! Forget dodging!"

"This time it's not just you, me, and the rest of the knight commanders!"

"Even the prince! Even the king! No one's safe!"

Kris froze.

"The king too?!"

His eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

This wasn't a raid—it was a royal-level massacre!

After this wave, would there even be a functioning leadership left in Uno Kingdom?

Uno Kingdom Royal Palace, Study Room

"Father," Prince Eureka said with a wry smile, "Lord Velen requests your presence."

King Marcus sighed deeply.

"So, it has come to this... He's finally set his sights on me."

He stared out the window like a man remembering his youth.

"Well… if it's for the future of Uno Kingdom, I suppose I must go."

"There's no turning back now."

"Let's go."

Arthur's Garden

A massive crowd had gathered, completely filling the flower-lined courtyard.

Five knight commanders.

The crown prince, Eureka.

The king, Marcus.

Galdorin looked around at the sea of high-ranking individuals and felt a pit growing in his stomach.

"What… what am I even doing here?!"

"Why would they include me—a mere hand?!"

Out of all the people they could've called, why am I the one constantly remembered?!

I'm old! Go mess with the young people!

King Marcus stepped forward and bowed slightly to Velen.

"Lord Velen, forgive me for not welcoming you personally earlier. I was tied up with royal duties."

He knew all too well how terrifying Velen was.

Even if all five knight commanders joined forces, they still couldn't take down one of Velen's guardians—let alone both.

And everyone had heard tales of the red-haired, one-eyed warrior and the terrifying little girl.

He knew better than to treat this man casually.

"Your Majesty, there's no need to apologize," Velen said warmly.

"In fact, I invited you here today because this item will benefit you the most. Otherwise, I wouldn't have troubled you."

He didn't elaborate further. Instead, he waved his hand, and thirty-two bottles of Endurance Potion appeared before them.

"Please, Your Majesty—drink freely and enjoy!"

He said it like he was offering the finest wine in the land.

Everyone received four bottles.

But no one moved.

They weren't afraid of poison.

No, what they feared was something far worse—

Mystery side effects.

You never knew what Velen's "good stuff" might actually do to you.

They looked around at one another in silence, exchanging wary glances.

Nobody dared take the first sip.

Velen cleared his throat and smiled.

"Your Majesty, as ruler of a nation… perhaps it would be best if Galdorin tried it first?"

Galdorin: ??!?!

Excuse me?

Just a second ago, you were saying how this was especially beneficial to the king!

And now you're nominating me?!

I'm a hand! Why is this my business?!

King Marcus exhaled in relief and smiled gently.

"Well said, Lord Velen. Galdorin, since His Lordship has spoken, why don't you go ahead and try it first?"

"Indeed!" Arthur chimed in, looking far too pleased with himself. "Galdorin, don't be shy!"

"I… I…" Galdorin stammered, looking left and right, only to find everyone else watching him with eyes full of pity.

"Your Majesty, I—"

"There's no need for words," Marcus interrupted solemnly.

"Galdorin… we'll never forget what you've done for the kingdom today."

"The nation will remember this dark hour."

Surrounded by the king, five knight commanders, and Prince Eureka, Galdorin clenched his teeth, grabbed the four bottles—

And chugged them all in one go.

If the bond is strong—then down it in one gulp!
