Chapter134-The Alchemist Convention

Every time Velen left and then returned to the fortress, he always seemed to bring back some bizarre occurrences and strange individuals.

It was endless.

So the moment she heard that Velen was going out again, Anastasia had a bad feeling.

But could she stop Velen from leaving?

Even if she could stop him temporarily, she couldn't restrain him for a lifetime.

Taking a deep breath and suppressing her fluctuating emotions, Anastasia spoke seriously:

"Velen, you can go wherever you want, that's not a problem. But since you're leaving with Alan, the two of you must return together. That is my only request for now."

Velen casually nodded and said, "Don't worry, Lord! That's not even an issue! I'll definitely protect Alan and make sure he doesn't get bullied outside!"

"Also, to be on the safe side, and since the journey is long, let's take the Ironback Centipede with us."

Hearing this, Alan was also quite touched as he looked at Anastasia. "Lord, I will take good care of myself. And with Velen around, we will definitely return safely, so please don't worry!"

Anastasia stared blankly at Velen and Alan.

Did these two really not understand, or were they just pretending not to? That wasn't what she meant at all.

She wasn't worried about their safety—she just wanted them to stop bringing people back to the fortress!

But seeing the two of them looking at her with such heartfelt gratitude, Anastasia found it hard to say anything more. She could only wave her hand, telling them to go and return soon.

Watching Velen and Alan depart, Anastasia's expression became somewhat heavy. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this? I just hope they behave this time and don't bring anyone else back to the fortress."

Not long after, Velen and Alan, riding on the Ironback Centipede's back, swiftly set off from Uranus Star.

"Velen, Lord Anastasia really cares about us. This is just a regular trip, yet she's so concerned," Alan commented.

Velen nodded. "Of course, Lord Anastasia is beautiful and kind, and she cares about us a lot. Especially you—didn't you see how she couldn't take her eyes off us when we left?"

Alan agreed wholeheartedly. After all, he knew that Velen had feelings for the Lord.

And now, it seemed like the Lord might have feelings for Velen as well!

Such a level of concern for a simple journey—she must be afraid that something might happen to him.

If Anastasia had known what they were discussing, she probably would have coughed up blood in rage.

"Wait a minute, Iron Cub, do you know where Inferno Planet is?"

Suddenly, Velen asked out of curiosity.

The Ironback Centipede shook its head. "No idea."

"...Then why are you flying so fast and so confidently?" Velen's mouth twitched.

He turned to Alan, who scratched the back of his head awkwardly. He only knew the name "Inferno Planet," not the exact coordinates.

Seeing the Ironback Centipede and Alan both fall silent, Velen was utterly speechless.

Luckily, he had Fate's Trojan, which provided the exact coordinates upon inquiry.

"We need to head back first. Inferno Planet is quite far from here. If we borrow Senator Ethan's arcane carpet, we can travel much faster!"

So, they quickly returned to the fortress, borrowed the arcane carpet, and after setting the coordinates, they took off again at high speed.

Inside the fortress, William watched Velen leave and sighed.

"Ah, who knows when Velen will be back this time?"

"In the meantime, I should return for a bit. Otherwise, the other four senators might start getting restless."

William patted the storage bag in his arms, which contained the Lv9 Forge and Tempered Soul Stone that Velen had given him—both extremely valuable items.

With such an abundant harvest, he was already more than satisfied!

"Iron Cub, go full speed ahead! If your elemental energy runs dry, use high-grade mana crystals to keep the arcane carpet moving at full power. I want us to reach Inferno Planet by early morning!"

Though the distance was great, both the arcane carpet and the Ironback Centipede were extraordinary. Velen believed they could reach their destination quickly.

Ironback Centipede gave Velen a surprised look.

Based on what it knew about Velen, he rarely rushed things like this. Normally, he would rest at night.

Yet now, he was insisting on traveling straight through the night.

Alan, on the other hand, felt even more touched. Velen was really going all out for his sake.

Meeting Velen in this lifetime was the greatest fortune he could ask for!

As they both stared at him with different emotions, Velen looked back at them, confused.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? I know I'm handsome, but we're all men here!"

Seeing Velen sink into narcissism, Alan cleared his throat and said, "Velen, aren't you going to rest tonight? There's really no need to rush."

"It's fine. Iron Cub is the one driving the arcane carpet anyway. We just need to rest well so we have enough energy for tomorrow."

Ironback Centipede's mouth twitched.

Good grief, this trip really made it nothing more than a tool!

Meanwhile, as the arcane carpet sped through the starry sky, a desolate, barren planet was gathering a group of space pirates.

"A high-quality arcane carpet like that is rare. If we can take it, we'll make a fortune!"

"Boss, I think we can do it. There are only three people on board. Two of them are small fries—one's an Adept Rank Lv9, the other's an Elite Rank Lv9. No real threat at all."

"The one piloting the arcane carpet doesn't seem to have any detectable aura, so they can't be strong either!"

The leading pirates exchanged greedy glances.

"Heh, but can you even catch up with that high-grade arcane carpet's speed?"

"From the looks of it, they're pushing the arcane carpet to its limits. You'd just be eating dust if you tried to follow them."

Along the way, Velen and his group encountered various awakeners and fleets, as well as a variety of dazzling starships.

Many people cast envious glances at their arcane carpet.

After all, high-grade arcane carpets were incredibly rare, boasting speeds that surpassed most flying devices. Whether for travel or escape, they were unparalleled.

At the same time, such an advanced arcane carpet wasn't easy to operate. If an awakener wasn't powerful enough, they had to rely on high-grade mana crystals to fuel it.

For many, obtaining one was already difficult, let alone maintaining it. In interstellar travel, those who relied on arcane carpets were either exceptionally strong—or incredibly rich.

At full speed, the arcane carpet reached its destination by early morning.

Ahead of them loomed a massive, fiery planet.

This planet was at least ten times larger than Uranus Star, covered in volcanic craters and lava flows. From a distance, it glowed a deep crimson, radiating waves of heat.

"Inferno Planet—here we are!"

Ironback Centipede, nearly out of breath, panted.

Hearing this, Velen drowsily opened his eyes.

"That was fast."

Ironback Centipede, already on the verge of exhaustion, nearly collapsed.

To maximize speed while keeping the two sleeping passengers comfortable, it had spent the entire night on high alert, draining almost all of its energy.

And all it got in return was a casual comment.

"Since we've arrived, Alan, you go find your mentor first. I have some business to take care of. We'll meet up later!"

With that, Velen separated from Alan and charged into Inferno Planet with Ironback Centipede.

He needed to find the Alchemist Convention mentioned in his system quest!

Upon landing, Velen immediately spotted numerous people wearing alchemist robes.

They carried an air of arrogance, as if the whole world owed them money.

After all, alchemists were highly sought after everywhere, so Velen could understand their attitude.

Though they came from different regions, they were all heading toward the central area.

From their discussions, Velen learned something surprising.

"You actually have to pass a test to participate in the Alchemist Convention?"
