Chapter 1092: Familia (2)
Chapter 1092: Familia (2)
“Please. Leave,” William said.
I felt an intense pressure weighing down on me. Will was emitting an otherworldly energy that quickly filled the room.
‘Haa…’
He was doing it in a way that wouldn't affect me. He was a powerful Level 5 Adventurer, so I knew that he had some tricks up his sleeves. However, I couldn't help but think that he was really experienced at wielding magic spells.
William was simply showing Woo Hyo-Yeol the difference in power between the two of them, but I was sure pressure wasn't the only thing that the latter could feel.
Woo Hyo-Yeol was trembling, and I was sure that he couldn’t control his body at the moment. I actually believed that there was a chance that he would end up peeing his pants.
I was sure Woo Hyo-Yeol felt like dozens of thorns had pierced him, and he couldn't do anything about them. He thought William was a weakling, but that was obviously not the case. I was certain that Woo Hyo-Yeol thought that William wasn't even a human being.
William probably looked like a predator capable of devouring him in one bite.
Woo Hyo-Yeol definitely thought that way, but despite that, he…
“What if…” Woo Hyo-Yeol mumbled.“...”
“What if I don’t want to leave?”
‘Level 3?’
It was amazing that he was already Level 3, even though the tutorial dungeon had just ended. However, he was a regressor, so it wasn’t actually that amazing. It was actually within my expectations, but the difference between Level 3 and Level 5 was huge.
If I were to categorize them using our continent's power ranking system, the difference between the two would be between Rare and Epic as well as Rare to Legendary. It was like the difference between Kim Hyun-Sung, who had just come out of the tutorial dungeon, and Cha Hee-Ra, who had reached a certain level outside.
Will could definitely wring his head off his shoulders, and Woo Hyo-Yeol was certainly aware that Will could do that, but…
“What if I don’t want to?” Woo Hyo-Yeol repeated.
“You…”
“What? Are you going to beat me to death?” Woo Hyo-Yeol questioned.
‘I thought he was the type to act recklessly.’
I definitely thought that he was reckless, but… I could tell that he was making his move based on the assumption that William, the Head of the Flower and Fertility Familia wouldn't kill him.
“Or are you going to use that pretty little sword of yours to stab me in the throat?” Woo Hyo-Yeol asked.
‘He must… really want to die.’
Damn it, If I were in William's position, I would kill Woo Hyo-Yeol right away. I wouldn't care, even if he was a beginner who had just come out of the tutorial dungeon.
However, Will wasn’t that type of person. His valuable principles wouldn’t let him do something like that. I believed every member of the Flower and Fertility Familia had that kind of trait, and they all had faith in the order and goodness in everyone's heart.
It was hard to believe that there were people like him who valued justice and wouldn't hesitate to throw themselves into the fire if it was the right thing to do. Basically, he wasn’t the type of person who'd kill Woo Hyo-Yeol just because the latter had provoked him.
‘It’s suffocating.’
Woo Hyo-Yeol had a lot of information about William. He probably knew how Will was going to act, which was why he called him a bastard with nothing but flowers in his head and did as he pleased.
‘I like this jerk… more than I thought.’
As expected…
“I won’t kill you,” William said.
“...”
“However, I can fix that attitude of yours,” William added.
“That sounds like fun,” Woo Hyo-Yeol commented.
“People like you do appear every year, and they're mostly beginners who cleared the Beginner’s Trial with a high score. They’re talented in this field and are different from the others, allowing them to adapt quickly to the Rohen Continent,” William said.
“...”
“However, only twenty to thirty percent of those players would end up surviving for the long-term. Many of them ended up losing their lives in ridiculous situations, as they were too overconfident in their abilities,” William continued.
“So what is it you want to say?” Woo Hyo-Yeol asked.
“I'm your senior on this continent, and I want to teach you a lesson,” William replied.
“So you want to fight? Is that it?” Woo Hyo-Yeol questioned.
‘When was the last time I heard someone say those words?’
I had no idea, and I also had no idea about when was the last time I saw someone like Will.
‘There has to be a limit to someone's kindness.’
William was more interested in teaching Woo Hyo-Yeol a lesson rather than using a spar as an excuse to beat him up. He even seemed to admire Woo Hyo-Yeol for being talented and passionate.
He seemed to be thinking that since this newbie, who had cleared the Beginner’s Trial, could endure the pressure of a Level 5 adventurer, he'd contribute a lot to the Rohen Continent and become helpful once he had grown into a fine young man.
‘Has he not considered the possibility that Woo Hyo-Yeol could backstab him?’
Woo Hyo-Yeol wasn’t lying when he said that William’s head was filled with flowers, and there was indeed an issue with Will’s personality. He could actually forgive the irredeemable psychopath, and it seemed like he was planning on asking Woo Hyo-Yeol for help.
I believed that William had to kill Woo Hyo-Yeol while he still had the chance to do so, or things would become problematic for him later down the road.
Of course, the future was unknown to me, so I was simply guessing. However, Woo Hyo-Yeol’s hostile glare made me think that he didn’t like William’s attitude or he simply disliked him all this while.
Clearly, these two were polar opposites.
“Mr. Lee Ki-Young, I apologize for the rudeness,” William apologized.
“Don’t worry about me, Mr. Will—William,” I said.
Our meeting was about to end anyway.
“We can finish our conversation another time. I’ll be going then…” I said.
“Wait. Did I say you could leave?” Woo Hyo-Yeol questioned.
“...”
“Strictly speaking, I have business with you, not with these idiots…” Woo Hyo-Yeol said.
“You-”
“It’s fine, Mr. William. It looks like he has business with me… but it does seem like you two have something to resolve before talking to me… Would it be okay if I stayed longer?” I asked.
“Yes, of course,” William answered.
I wanted to watch their fight.
Nothing too dramatic happened.
Woo Hyo-Yeol moved while smirking, and William remained silent. The members of the Flower and Fertility warned him saying that another familia could have schemed all this, but their words couldn't change William’s goal to fix the rookie's behavior.
“I won’t use my magic spells, and I’ll only use one arm,” William said.
“I was waiting for you to say that. Do whatever you want since I’m not going to be one suffering for it,” Woo Hyo-Yeol said.
‘I should stream this. This is good content.’
I was sure Woo Hyo-Yeol was streaming this as well. Many people entered the room, but I ignored them all. The higher-ups, who had just realized that this wasn’t a casual stream, were unusually silent.
[The Goddess of Flower and Fertility♥ is certain her child will punish that immature jerk.]
‘By why is the goddess here?’
[The Wolf Crying Under the Crescent Moon said that it’s hard to know who will win. They have been watching Player Woo Hyo-Yeol since the tutorial dungeon, and William is suffering from a penalty, so…]
[The God of Sunset♥ is worried that you’re going to hang out with the wrong people.]
'I’m not a kid.'
‘What is he worried about? I don’t hang out with bad kids.’
Of course, I wasn't in the best situation, as I had basically joined their fight.
I felt like Woo Hyo-Yeol was transforming all this into some high school drama.
The overall reaction was pretty good. The situation needed no explanation, and the sudden event made everyone focus on the scene with rapt attention. William was a well-known adventurer in Rohen, while Woo Hyo-Yeol was a new adventurer whom everyone had their eyes on, so what more was there to say about this event?
Everyone knew what was going to happen.
I couldn’t even imagine Woo Hyo-Yeol winning this fight. William could use only one arm as a handicap, and he couldn't use his magic spells as well. However, the difference in their stats was overwhelming.
If Woo Hyo-Yeol's opponent were just an ordinary Level 5 player, then he'd have a chance, but he was fighting William. In addition to his higher stats, he also specialized in swordsmanship and close-quarter combat. They probably specialized in different things, but William was a genius as well.
“Aren’t you worried about your reputation once I've beaten you to a pulp?” Woo Hyo-Yeol questioned.
“...”
“I don’t intend on spreading dirty rumors or anything, but I’m sure the Goddess of Flower and Fertility, the one you admire so much, will be heartbroken,” Woo Hyo-Yeol provoked.
“...”
Unlike Woo Hyo-Yeol, who was still yapping, William remained silent.
Bam!
Woo Hyo-Yeol stomped forward with his two daggers in hand and charged at William. It happened suddenly, but I wasn’t shocked. William, his sword with one arm behind his back looked like the epitome of an adventurer.
I believed he was thinking about taking advantage of his sword's strengths. His sword was made for thrusts, and he thrust it toward Woo Hyo-Yeol.
It seemed like he had done that to counterattack, but it wasn’t that simple.
Woo Hyo-Yeol would die if he ended up getting stabbed. I felt like Woo Hyo-Yeol was too slow to keep up with William's speed, but I was sure that Woo Hyo-Yeol wouldn't get stabbed. William’s attack was too fast, but Woo Hyo-Yeol was familiar with the former's swordsmanship.
‘That’s clever.’
I was sure Woo Hyo-Yeol knew what William could do, his habits, and his unique skills.
There was no need for Woo Hyo-Yeol to analyze William, as his body moved automatically based on the little knowledge he had about William.
Woo Hyo-Yeol slid and dodged William’s sword, and then he threw one of his daggers at the latter. I wasn’t sure whether it was a trick to catch William off-guard, but he had too much experience to get caught off-guard by that.
William turned to the side to dodge, but Woo Hyo-Yeol’s foot flew toward the former's face. Instead of moving away, William raised his sword again and thrust it toward Woo Hyo-Yeol’s foot.
‘He’s going to get a hole in his foot.’
And that was when Woo Hyo-Yeol’s foot turned in a strange direction. It looked strange because his feet resembled a whip at the moment.
‘Impossible.’
The word "flexible" wasn't enough to describe Woo Hyo-Yeol's movement, and I couldn't help but think that perhaps he had a few extra joints to use. Otherwise, he couldn't have made such a bizarre movement.
However, William simply raised his knee to block the oncoming attack.
‘It was a nice attempt.’
Woo Hyo-Yeol's physical stats were low. If the two had the same stats, Woo Hyo-Yeol would have landed an attack on William, but Woo Hyo-Yeol was just Level 3.
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!
I heard multiple noises at once as holes were made in Woo Hyo-Yeol.
Woo Hyo-Yeol collapsed while bleeding profusely. He had made just one mistake, but it had proven fatal.
‘That psycho.’
It was such a disgraceful sight. The only thing worth praising was the fact that he hadn't screamed at all.
‘I’d expect nothing less from Will. I believed in him, damn it.’
I flinched without realizing it. My DNA, which would always surrender to those who were strong, was drawn to William, not to Woo Hyo-Yeol.
“Mr. William! A-Are you okay?” I asked.
Woo Hyo-Yeol had collapsed, but I was more worried about Mr. William’s knee.
“M-Mr. William,” I stammered.
“I’m fine,” William answered.
“I clearly saw you getting attacked… Ah… Mr… William? Ah!” I shouted.
I pretended to be relieved upon seeing Woo Hyo-Yeol on the ground.
‘Did I get enough brownie points?’
“Y-You won. Y-You should hurry and get some treatment,” I suggested.
“The priest of the familia can treat him… I’m fine, Mr. Lee Ki-Young,” he reassured me.@@novelbin@@
‘I know that, but I can’t help but feel worried. You’re a model adventurer.’
“Emilia, please treat his wounds, and Sumad, please take Mr. Lee Ki-Young…”
And that was when I heard a quiet voice…
“Damn it. Who said it was over?” Woo Hyo-Yeol questioned.
“...”
“Who said it was over? I’m not done yet, you bastard,” Woo Hyo-Yeol said.
Woo Hyo-Yeol was gritting his teeth so hard that his gums were bleeding.
Clearly, he was furious.
“It’s not over yet,” Woo Hyo-Yeol said, and his gaze resembled a beast.
‘Ah, what a despicable bastard.’
What do you think?
