Chapter 412 409 Blood God Sect Yin Yang Demon Sect

High in the sky, the white dragon spread its wings and soared.

Qin Feng sat cross-legged on the dragon's back, his eyes slightly closed, silently comprehending the magic divine powers and a few of the Dragon Clan's inheritances that the Ruyi Golden Snake had obtained from the Golden Jiao bloodline.

The Dragon Clan was naturally despotic, far from something the common men of the Human Clan could compare to.

However, humans were born with Daoist bodies, which were the most suitable vessels for embracing the Dao. This was why the cultivators of the Human Clan were able to surpass others later on and inherit various cultivation techniques from numerous schools.

Although the Dragon Clan's cultivation methods were very different from the techniques of the Human Clan, after all, the Dragon Clan's techniques only fit their mighty physique, Qin Feng had cultivated the Azure Dragon Divine Technique. If he could cultivate his Azure Dragon Daoist Body to the peak realm, he could even transform his body into an Azure Dragon for battle.

Thus, the little bit of heritage obtained from the Dragon Clan by the Ruyi Golden Snake was quite beneficial for him. It could open his mind, broaden his perspective, and serve as a reference for the development of his future techniques.

Suddenly, Qin Feng's ears twitched.

He seemed to vaguely hear some sound!

Qin Feng opened his eyes and looked toward the left front. There was only clear sky, with a few white clouds drifting by, nothing else.

Looking downward, the mountains were high, the forests dense, and the vegetation lush, seemingly no different.

After the white dragon flew for a short while longer, however, his gaze suddenly condensed.

Because from behind a mountain peak, he caught sight of a tragic scene.

There was a structure atop that mountain peak, and those capable of building such structures in the mountains were nine times out of ten a cultivator family.

Only now, this cultivator family was left only with dilapidated walls and corpses everywhere.

Every building was either shattered or ablaze, reduced to ashes.

Yet, those lingering flames were different from ordinary flames, dark red like blood, giving off an eerie feeling.

Looking at the corpses on the ground, it was even more shocking for Qin Feng.

Because the corpses on the ground were dried up without much flesh, looking like mummified corpses that had been desiccated for who knows how many years.

Qin Feng furrowed his brow.

Considering the scale of that family's settlement below, it should be a mid-size family with Golden Core cultivators in residence. He wondered who could have dealt such a vicious hand.

Strife and slaughter were common in the cultivation world, and Qin Feng usually wouldn't meddle in these affairs, after all, the grievances between the two parties had nothing to do with him, and getting involved without understanding their grudges would only invite trouble and unintended consequences.

However, this place was already under the control of the Beast Taming Sect, and the family below, even if not affiliated with the Beast Taming Sect, would be related to other small and medium sects.

Moreover, the way those people below died was too strange, especially the viciousness of the perpetrator, who even drained the blood from the infants in their cradle, which stirred a sense of righteous indignation in Qin Feng.

Those who commit such acts are very likely to be from the Demon Sect.

Just now the Sect was preparing to take action against the Demon Sect culprits, so he decided to go down and see if he could find any clues. If he could locate one or two outposts of the Demon Sect, in the future, he could also lead the sect's disciples to surround and suppress these culprits.

After all, the Gui Ling Ancestor and the others would focus primarily on the Demon Sect's core locations where the Great Powers resided, and not pay much attention to the scattered branches of the Demon Sect.

These scattered branches of the Demon Sect need to be dealt with by the various sects individually.

While the Gui Ling Ancestor and the others were only responsible for the Demon Great Powers and possibly the Demon Immortals, they couldn't be expected to include every small fish and shrimp in their plan. Nor could they afford to waste so much time on ordinary demons.

To avoid any lurking Demon Cultivators from spying in the vicinity, Qin Feng summoned the white dragon into the Demon Refining Pot and concealed his formidable physical power, only releasing the essence of his Golden Core. He then floated gently down to the ground.

After landing, and glancing at the withered corpses around him, he reached out to touch the still burning dark red flames, only to instantly feel a scorching sensation of burning.

Unlike ordinary flames, this flame first made his blood, not his skin, feel a burning sting.

If he hadn't withdrawn his hand promptly, given enough time, even the blood in his body might have been ignited by the flame.

"This is... the Blood Flame of the Blood God Sect!"

Qin Feng quickly made a judgment.

Though he had never witnessed the Blood God Sect's demons performing their techniques, according to the sect's records, the Blood God Sect's most common method of killing was the scene before him, draining all the blood from people's bodies and turning living beings into dry corpses.

As for this malicious flame capable of igniting blood, it was also one of the Blood God Sect's most proficient methods of attack.

However, the Blood God Sect did not normally operate in the territory of the Beast Taming Sect.

Qin Feng was somewhat puzzled. Even if the sect had recently sold too many resources from the Red Flame Demon Realm, attracting many from the Demon Sect, they still shouldn't be going on a killing spree at this time.

Logically, to conceal their identity, the members of the Demon Sect should be avoiding trouble in the territory of the Beast Taming Sect because it would only draw attention. Once thoroughly investigated, many traces of the Demon Sect's cultivators would likely be found.

Or was it possible that the Demon Great Powers already knew about the plans of the Gui Ling Ancestor and other factions and were exacting revenge on the Beast Taming Sect?

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Before Qin Feng could figure it out, he suddenly heard a series of sounds cutting through the air from a distance.

He looked up toward the direction from which the sound had come and saw several figures speeding through the sky towards this place.

The cultivators were all dressed in the Daoist robes of the Red Cloud Palace, with the leader being a young man with a giant sword on his back.

"Ah... who did this, who exterminated my entire clan?"

From afar, the young man had not even come close before he cried out in pain, his eyes bloodshot, nearly fainting.

However, he soon noticed Qin Feng standing under an old tree.

"Thief, you killed my clan members, I will have your blood as repayment!"

As he spoke, he drew the giant sword from his back and slashed in the air toward Qin Feng.

"Junior Brother, stop!"

Before the middle-aged Daoist could finish his sentence, the young man's giant sword, accompanied by sword qi dozens of meters long, was already slashing toward Qin Feng.

Qin Feng felt a bit helpless inside, but considering the young man had suddenly encountered this disaster, he didn't take it personally and simply dodged.

With a thunderous boom, the sword light, dozens of meters long, struck the ground, sending soil and rocks flying.

The young man glared at Qin Feng with bloodshot eyes and with a sweep of his sword, attacked again.

Qin Feng frowned deeply, greatly displeased.

What's the deal with this guy, is he never going to stop?

Feeling irritated, he stomped down, and with a "bang," the young man's giant sword was pinned under his foot. Before the young man could pull out his sword, Qin Feng struck him with a palm, sending him flying nearly a hundred meters away.

"Ah..."

The middle-aged Daoist was startled, sweeping his horsetail whisk, its tail instantly lengthened with thousands of white strands, wrapping around the young man and pulling him back to his side.

Then, seeing that the young man was unharmed, he knew that Qin Feng had no intention to hurt anyone and he felt relieved.

"Junior Brother must not act rashly. Didn't you see that this fellow Daoist is dressed in the Beast Taming Sect's robes?"

The middle-aged Daoist reproached the young man, then landed on the ground and bowed to Qin Feng, "Thank you for showing mercy, fellow Daoist. I am Chaoyun of the Red Cloud Palace. May I know how to address you, and are you a disciple of a certain lineage within the Beast Taming Sect?"

"Fellow Daoist is too kind."

Qin Feng glanced at him and said, "I am Qin Feng, a disciple of the Spiritual Snake lineage of the Beast Taming Sect."

"Soh, fellow Daoist Qin."

Chaoyun and the other cultivators were surprised to hear this, as Qin Feng's reputation had been extremely prominent in all directions recently. As an ally of the Beast Taming Sect, the Red Cloud Palace certainly knew of Qin Feng, who had become very famous over the past few years.

"My Junior Brother Yu was emotionally stirred and mistakenly recognized fellow Daoist as our clan's enemy. I hope fellow Daoist Qin can forgive him."

Since they were aware of Qin Feng's identity, they certainly would not consider him as the murderer who had wiped out the young man's entire family.

"It is of no concern."

As the middle-aged Daoist was so polite, Qin Feng didn't dwell on the earlier incident any further. Besides, since their sects were allied, he saw no reason to be overly harsh.

"I am Yu Qiu, and I misunderstood you earlier, fellow Daoist Qin. I apologize here."

The young man bowed and then, with a sorrowful expression, asked, "May I know why fellow Daoist is here, and if you have discovered who killed my entire family?"

"I happened to be passing by this area and came to investigate upon discovering this dreadful scene."

Qin Feng took a step back, releasing the giant sword he had been stepping on, allowing the young man to take his magical treasure back, and continued, "As for the murderer, I did not see anyone. However, if my guess is not wrong, those who committed such a vile act are likely demon cultists from the Blood God Sect."

"The Blood God Sect?"

"Yes."

Qin Feng nodded, "Look at those bodies, each one of them completely drained of blood - this is something the followers of the Blood God Sect often do. And within these dark red flames, there is a sensation that makes one's own blood boil and burn. To my knowledge, the only kind of flame that can produce this effect is likely the Blood Fire Demon Flames of the Blood God Sect."

"The Blood God Sect, I am utterly opposed to you!"

Yu Qiu's teeth grated audibly.

Sage Chaoyun asked Qin Feng, "Judging by the state of this place, those from the Blood God Sect must have left not long ago. The Beast Taming Sect is renowned for its tracking secret techniques, I wonder if fellow Daoist has a way to locate their whereabouts?"

"That's hard to say."

Qin Feng pondered for a moment and replied, "I can try, but I can't guarantee I will definitely be able to find their traces."

"No matter," Chaoyun spoke hastily, "we would be grateful for your attempt, fellow Daoist."

Asking others for help, one obviously cannot have too many expectations, especially since Qin Feng was not just an ordinary cultivator, but a True Disciple of the Beast Taming Sect, with a status and position incomparable to theirs.

"As long as Daoist Fellow can help me find my enemies, Yu Qiu will certainly not forget Daoist Fellow's kindness!"

The young Daoist looked toward Qin Feng, clearly with revenge consuming his thoughts.

Qin Feng nodded his head.

He was not particularly concerned about the man's offer of gratitude; he simply also wanted to find those from the Demon Sect responsible for such malicious acts.

He then started to cast spells to trace the aura of the perpetrators, trying several techniques until he frowned slightly, "I can differentiate the auras of several Demon Cultivators, but they have gone in different directions. Perhaps they have laid misleading trails, or they have dispersed; this does make pursuit difficult."

He then looked toward the young man and asked, "Does your family possess something that the Blood God Sect would covet? Why else would they suddenly attack your home?"

"This?"

The young man was stunned for a moment, then his face changed, "Could it be related to the resources from the Red Flame Demon Realm that our clan obtained from the Sect recently?"

"You are saying that the Blood God Sect knew your family had an abundance of resources from the Red Flame Demon Realm, so they came to plunder and, incidentally, annihilate your clan?"

"I... I don't know, my family has passed down Artifact Refining Techniques for generations, so we always collect some materials to have in reserve. Some time ago, the Clan Leader sent me a transmission, asking me to get some resources from Otherworlds. I asked my master to help purchase them at a reasonable price, could the Demon Sect have learned of this?"

Yu Qiu's expression grew increasingly grim, "I'll go check the storeroom!"

After saying that, he dashed towards various places within the ruins of his residence. After searching everywhere, he returned with a pained expression, "Indeed, the resources from the Red Flame Demon Realm stored at home have all been plundered, but some of the other resources we had were not completely taken."

"So it seems that the people from the Blood God Sect attacked your family not for personal grievances but for those resources."

Qin Feng's brow furrowed, "If those from the Demon Sect are acting so brazenly, then we're in big trouble. Many families and smaller Sects in the Southern Domain have stored resources from the Red Flame Demon Realm, especially those adept at Artifact Refining. If all are targeted by the Demon Sect, this could lead to complete chaos."

Upon hearing this, the others present also changed their expressions.

Especially a Daoist following behind Sage Chaoyun, whose face became particularly unsightly, "I... my family also specializes in Artifact Refining, and we recently acquired some materials from the Red Flame Demon Realm. Moreover, we have crafted several Magical Treasures and Spiritual Artifacts with materials from the Demon Realm. If this is true..."

He looked up at Sage Chaoyun, "Senior Brother, I must go back to check on my family; I cannot rest easy."

"Alright."

Sage Chaoyun did not hesitate to respond, "I will stay with Junior Brother Li to help Junior Brother Yu bury his clan members; the other two Junior Brothers may accompany you. Be careful, just in case."

"Thank you, Senior Brother. Junior Brother Yu, I will return to the family to make arrangements. If nothing is wrong, I will come back soon to help you find your enemies."

"Third Senior Brother, just proceed with your tasks."

Though filled with grief, Yu Qiu had not lost his sense and, of course, would not stop his Senior Brother from leaving.

Watching the cultivators from the Red Cloud Palace set off in different directions, Qin Feng sighed softly and said to Sage Chaoyun, "Please take care of these people first. I will now return to my Sect to report these events so that reinforcements can be dispatched to investigate. We cannot allow the Demon Sect free rein on the Beast Taming Sect's territory!"

"If that's the case, thank you, Daoist Fellow Qin."

Sage Chaoyun bowed in salute, seeing off Qin Feng.

He also took out a Sound Transmission Talisman to report the incident back to the Red Cloud Palace, requesting Sect Elders to come and investigate.

After all, the Yu Family was a vassal of the Red Cloud Palace, and Yu Qiu was his Junior Brother. With the family annihilated, they could not simply ignore the situation.

Qin Feng nodded, then used the Shrinking Ground to Inch Divine Power, taking hundred-zhang steps and heading into the distance.

With the boost from the Earth Element Principle, the power of this Divine Art surged. In just a few steps, to the astonishment of Sage Chaoyun and the others, he vanished into the woods, out of sight.

He did not ride the White Dragon or choose to fly.

Because he wanted to follow one of the traces left by the Demon Sect, to see if he could find the Demon Cultivators of the Blood God Sect.

If possible, he wanted to understand the Blood God Sect's current plans—whether the annihilation of the Yu Family was an isolated incident or a premeditated plunder of the small and medium family resources.

Only by understanding this could the Sect decide whether to accelerate their actions against the Demon Sect.

Qin Feng casted a Secret Technique, following the aura as he raced swiftly, quickly clearing the mountains and then tracing the trail for three hundred li until he reached a Market where he then lost track of the other party.

Looking at the bustling Market, Qin Feng felt somewhat helpless.

With people coming and going, there was no way to start searching.

Even if some auras remained, they were dispersed by the crowd.

Unless he could approach within a few dozen feet of the person, there was no way to track the Blood God Sect Followers in the Market.

After pondering for a bit, Qin Feng still entered the Market.

He found the local branch of the Ten Thousand Demons Pavilion and asked the Manager there to convey his findings back up the chain, requesting the Sect Elders to decide on the next steps.

The message was sent out as quickly as possible. Qin Feng was confident that Sect Master Gu Wuxi, upon receiving the information, would take it seriously and potentially ask the Supreme Elder to contact the Gui Ling Ancestor for further information.

Qin Feng had thought that after reporting the matter, it would have little to do with him.

The situation, although adverse in effect, was handled by the Sect Elders; he, a mere junior, shouldn't concern himself so much with it.

However, to his surprise, before he could even leave the Market, he stumbled upon the trace of a Demon Sect disciple yet again.

What astonished him more was that the Demon Sect disciple he encountered did not belong to the Blood God Sect, but to another Demon Sect.

Now extremely sensitive to Demonic Qi, Qin Feng noticed that although the individual's concealment of their Demonic Qi was quite thorough, perhaps because they didn't expect a high-level Great Cultivator to be present in the Market, or perhaps due to overconfidence in their own abilities, they didn't seem to care about being discovered.

Either way, Qin Feng sensed a faint and peculiar trace of Demonic Qi from a very handsome Green Robed Youth.

"Could it be that these Demon Sect disciples no longer have any scruples?"

Qin Feng wondered. Even if the Demon Sect wanted to obtain demon world resources from the Beast Taming Sect's Market, they shouldn't be sending so many Cultivators flocking to the Beast Taming Sect's territory.

Aren't they afraid of a grand cleansing by the Beast Taming Sect once they become aware of their presence?

Hmm, perhaps it was due to the rebellious nature of the Demon Sect Disciples, making them hard to control—especially with their severe dispersion across the land. Many Demon Cultivators have their own hiding places, and sometimes, even if they receive orders from the higher-ups, they may not comply.

After all, Demon Sect Cultivators greatly uphold the principle of acting as they please, disinclined to accept heavy constraints. It would be difficult for them to follow commands as obediently as the disciples do in a proper Sect, where a single command from the Sect Master can have thousands of Disciples follow without question.

Most importantly, the various factions of the Demon Sect lack strong cohesion. They're used to hiding here and there, and over time, their nature has been so suppressed that they've come to prefer being unrestrained and free.

Moreover, knowing full well that the Beast Taming Sect is selling resources that are to their significant benefit, why should only the higher-ups and specially nurtured disciples of the sect have access to them? Should these ordinary Demon Crowd merely watch others rapidly advance in their Cultivation while they remain stagnant?

Faced with an opportunity to advance, given the selfish nature of those in the Demon Sect, they wouldn't care about others or hold any concern for the so-called "bigger picture"—those are concerns for the higher-level Demon Immortals and Great Powers, not something that these low-level Demon Cultivators should be bothered with.

Qin Feng felt that perhaps this was why so many from the Demon Sect had entered the territories of the Beast Taming Sect.

Though most of the Demon Sect Disciples still knew to keep a low profile, not causing trouble to avoid provoking the Beast Taming Sect's wrath, incidents like today's complete annihilation of a family haven't happened for years.

Once he detected the Demonic Qi on the Green Robed Youth, Qin Feng quietly followed him.

He planned to track the youth to see if he could locate more Demon Sect Cultivators.

To avoid a repeat of the last time he was following a Demon Cultivator and lost track of them, when Qin Feng reached a corner, he blended into the shadows, employing the Shadow Transformation Divine Power to tail the youth.

After winding through the streets, he observed that the Green Robed Youth didn't change his appearance. It seemed he wasn't a disciple of the Faceless Demon Sect.

After a while, the Green Robed Youth entered a Brothel.

This left Qin Feng speechless; why was it that everyone liked to head in this direction?

This was quite troubling for him; after all, he was still a 'pure-hearted' virgin, and such frequent encounters were somewhat inappropriate, right?

Well, better follow along and see.

With a sigh in his heart, Qin Feng unhesitatingly followed suit.

The Green Robed Youth, oblivious to the time of day, brazenly pushed open the doors of the Brothel and, amidst the shouting of the Madam, casually tossed out a handful of Spirit Stones.

This generous act immediately made the Madam's face bloom with joy. If not for her apparent lack of interest from the handsome youth, she would have volunteered herself for companionship.

Not caring that it wasn't yet time to do business, the Madam promptly led the youth to the Courtesan, who had just arrived a few days ago.

This Courtesan, exceptional in both her charm and skill, had caused a sensation upon her arrival. Cultivators from large families threw hundreds of Spirit Stones just for a chance at her favor.

The handsome youth seemed like a young master from a large family, for his spending was otherwise too extravagant. So when he asked for the Courtesan Zi Yan, the Madam didn't hesitate to bring him to Miss Zi Yan's courtyard.

Qin Feng assumed he would witness a lascivious battle soon and was ready to leave first and wait outside for the Green Robed Youth, but to his surprise, he discovered that the two hadn't engaged in any indecent behavior. Instead, they began to converse.

"Just listen," said the handsome youth, "Junior Sister, how is it going? Have you garnered any useful information over these past days?"

"Rest assured, Senior Brother. With me here, those fools blinded by lust would almost spill their hearts out to me. Getting a bit of information is hardly a difficult task."

Zi Yan lay lazily on a couch, her long, snow-white legs exposed and her small, delicate feet clear and lustrous, looking utterly flawless.

However, the youth seemed to be indifferent to Zi Yan's enticing posture and scoffed, "Those fools from the Blood God Sect—asked to do something, they create such a mess. We certainly can't work with them anymore.

Hmph, it probably won't be long before an Elder from the Red Cloud Palace comes snooping around."

"Red Cloud Palace? They're just a minor Sect. At most, they'll send one or two Purple Mansion Elders. What's there to fear?"

Zi Yan's voice was gentle: "If it weren't for the Beast Taming Sect, our Yin Yang Demon Sect could easily wipe out a tiny Red Cloud Palace."

"I'm not afraid of the Red Cloud Palace; the key is, once the Beast Taming Sect hears about it, our plans could be ruined."

The Green Robed Youth snorted coldly: "Enough of this. To avoid any further complications, let's take action tonight.

Hmph, the Blood God Sect fools love killing, let them carry the blame for this one. Once the deed is done, we'll kill them, seize all the gains, and just leave this place.

With so many resources, both our cultivations can advance further, and our positions in the Sect will elevate. Perhaps Becoming an Immortal won't be out of reach!"
