Reincarnated as a World

Chapter318 Uneasy

The first thing Misali felt when she reawoke was pain. Her head did not feel like it was intact at all, which was obviously alarming. The next thing she felt was a shimmering heat that bathed her entire body, but she certainly had no problem with that. The third thing she felt was the occasional brush of shockwaves, indicating that a big fight was going on.

She was quite familiar with that feeling, it was something she had been accustomed to for nearly 200 years now. But there was a glaring difference this time. This time she couldn’t hear the source. She couldn’t hear the explosions that were no doubt firing all over the place, nor could she hear the usually accompanying screams of pain.

She couldn’t hear anything.

Once she recognised - or rather remembered that fact, her wrath returned with a vengeance so profound that her chest rattled with the force of it. She could even feel the sensation in her throat as if… as if…

As if she was growling.

She was.

Her claws twitched with mortification and a renewed desire to slash and rend.

‘Look at what they have done to me. I’m… losing control of myself… Haha! This level of humiliation…!’ As her thoughts reached this point, the rampaging emotions exploded.

She flared her wings, knocking back the Dragon who had been holding her up. A side glance let her know that it was Osmont. He was speaking, trying to communicate with her, but she could not hear.

Perhaps if he used telepathy it would work, but she really hoped he didn’t. Her experience with her attempted communication with the System let her know that it was very likely that something was wrong with her soul. It was for that reason that she didn’t attempt to use her Spirit Sense either. She knew the 2 were related and she didn’t want the latter to aggravate the former.

This was an unprecedented kind of damage. The smart thing to do was to rest and fully evaluate the extent of what was going on and find out how to recuperate. Alas, logic was no longer guiding her actions.

Even the time she was nearly killed by Chad the Phoenix King had not been as embarrassing as this. Her killing intent was not just sky high, it was desperate. The fact that the Howlers were still in existence made her feel like she was out of breath. She felt like she was choking and only killing the offenders could allow her to finally breathe properly.

Osmont watched as Misali ascended into the sky.

It had only taken her about 30 or so seconds to reawaken, but much had happened in that time. The King’s devastating flames had already taken many lives and the stabilised Supremes had also joined in. Other Dragons were also regaining their baring and throwing attacks of their own and the Howlers were barely defending. They let out some sound attacks from time to time, but it was nothing like before. It was likely that the attack they used then was of the special variety that could not be used again in a short period of time.

With that being the case, the Death Howlers were doomed.

They had notably endurable bodies but there wasn’t much that could withstand an avalanche of multiple Dragon Breaths, especially if the King himself was getting involved.

Osmont’s presence wasn’t needed, and neither was Misali’s. He had figured that out fairly quickly, so he had wanted to take the time to help her out his fellow Supreme, because he did not like how she had reacted to that first sound attack at all. it was clear that something was wrong, maybe even very wrong.

When she had woken up he had called out to her lightheartedly, but unexpectedly she had ignored him. At first he thought it was because of his joking tone, but even when he turned serious and tried calling out to her a few more times, he was still ignored. It was only when she looked up at the Death Howlers and started growling that he knew that something seriously concerning may have taken place.

Unfortunately, unlike the King or the goddess, he did not have the permission to ask the System about her wellbeing. The 2 of them - along with the rest of the Supremes, were considered equals, so they couldn’t use the System to pry secrets from each other even if their strengths weren’t equal. He could ask if she was harmed and get an answer, but he would not get a description of the damage caused unless he could already identify it himself. The System called it a ‘breach of privacy’.

It made sense. It could pose a serious threat if an opponent could obtain important details about you by simply asking the system (and unfortunately, Envy made it very clear that even the greatest allies could suddenly become enemies). But at times like this, it was quite disappointing.

Something was wrong with his close friend but he didn’t know what it was or how dangerous it was, it made him feel very uncomfortable.

But as he watched her fly higher and higher, her aura surging with fury all the while - he couldn’t help but think that perhaps he was thinking too much.

A primal roar reeking of a rage, pain and pure killing intent tore through the battlefield, causing many to pause with wariness or outright fright.

They directed their attention to the Beast responsible and saw a huge blue scaled Dragon that was rising from below, moving so quickly that it was almost a blur. A few of the weaker Death Howlers in its way did not have time to react before they were rammed and subsequently killed, but the Dragon blew by them as if they were nothing but dust.

Only when it soared above them all did it come to a stop and spread out its wings as if it wanted to cover the sky, and scarily enough, it was at that moment that the booming sound of thunder rumbled again.

Kigiisa was a 4th Realm Elder Death Howler and had a bountiful understanding about magic, so he knew that the thunder was nothing but a coincidence and could not be related to the Dragon with an obvious affinity for the water element.

But as the rain and hail falling upon them suddenly increased in intensity, he could not help but feel uneasy.
