Chapter 369 - 171 Hassaka: Pierced by Young Master Kael in One Strike (10.2K, 69/76)_6
Just as everyone was immersed in this unrivaled power, the crystal on Luxius flickered. He reached out to tap the crystal and, after a moment, looked in the direction of the Lord Mansion. A telepathic message spread across the whole battlefield:
"Ladies and gentlemen, let’s call it a day for now."
Luxius’s voice made those still suppressing the demi-human resistance inside the Lord Mansion halt their attacks.
The struggling demi-humans also ceased their actions and did not continue.
It seemed they had heard some other voice as well.
Soon enough, a demi-human with graying hair slowly emerged from the ruins. He glanced at the castle behind him, now partially reduced to rubble, and with a trace of indignation on his face, he sighed deeply and said:
"Let it end here! If you do not wish to incur the wrath of his excellency Yuragalan, restrain your respective forces and cease this meaningless battle."
"Edil, that old fellow, finally dares to show his face. I thought you would cower in the castle, too scared to face me!"
Luxius’s voice carried a hint of mockery, and the badly injured demi-human’s face twitched slightly before he sighed:
"Your magic has indeed become much stronger than before. I can no longer stop you, and you’ve already beaten me to such a state. Why must you insult me with words as well?"
A smile curled at the corner of Luxius’s mouth as he snorted and said:
"I am one to repay kindness and avenge wrongs. Moreover, I’m quite petty. Those who provoke me should be prepared and not give me the opportunity, as I will return the favor tenfold, a hundredfold, a thousandfold!" Find your next adventure on NovelBin.Côm
Having said this, he paused and looked at him with a somewhat pitiful gaze:
"Who told you I had made a move? You can’t even beat my students now. Is it the curse from those years ago that has left you growing weaker?"
"Of course, I don’t care about these matters. I would be only too pleased to see you die under the curse of other deities."
"Luxius, you brat, do you enjoy spouting such sharp-tongued words that much?!" Hearing Luxius’s slightly disdainful voice, the demi-human chosen one’s expression twitched even more.
"No, it’s not that. The truth is, you were indeed gravely injured by the spell of my student. Of course, falling to a student of whom I am proud isn’t too disgraceful for you."
Luxius spoke with earnestness.
The demi-human chosen one, Edil, fell silent for a moment, realizing that Luxius probably wasn’t lying. He looked at Kael, standing silently to the side, and then let out a laugh full of sorrow:
"You Humans really do produce geniuses more easily than we had imagined!"
"Is there a possibility that it’s not that we produce geniuses with ease, but that you demi-humans are just too worthless?" Luxius’s words were sharp as blades.
Kael rarely saw his teacher in such a confrontational stance other than his usual jovial persona.
It seemed the dispute between his teacher and this demi-human in the old days might have been messier than he had thought.
But this time, the victor was Luxius, and he indeed had the right to voice his mockery loudly. @@novelbin@@
Luxius opened his hands, and his voice instantly spread throughout the entire city, loudly proclaiming:
"Ladies and gentlemen, lay down your weapons. We are the delegates invited by the Orean Independent Kingdom from the Bell Federation.
In light of the attack launched by your democracy against us, we retaliated and have now taken control.
We promise that as long as you cease your resistance and give us a chance for peaceful communication between the two sides, I swear in the name of Mr. Caesar, the Federation Governor, that we will not let you die in a needless battle."
All the while, the demi-human chosen one said nothing, and neither did those lords or the demi-human nobles of this land.
They had traded their dignity for a chance to live; they clearly would not cause trouble at this critical juncture.
No demi-human wanted to enrage these envoys from the Bell Federation, who were already fuming.
Only then did the demi-human residents, who had plunged into chaos and were fleeing everywhere, come to know the identity of the sudden attackers.
What chilled their hearts further was their lords’ lack of reaction, as if they had fully accepted what had happened.
After the initial panic, what followed was endless cursing!
They cursed those demi-human nobles for consuming their taxes yet failing to ensure their safety.
Indeed, they did not even curse the enemy from the Bell Federation.
Because they knew this was an opportunity to curse their lord, but if they insulted the Federation guests, it wouldn’t soothe their anger—instead, it might put their lives at risk.
Kael looked up at the sky as Luxius tapped his staff, giving a cold snort while looking at the disheartened chosen one Edil, and said:
"That’s all the ability you have left, oh Edil. Your deity may save you once, maybe even twice, but can it save you a third or fourth time?
Be grateful! This time I came on a mission, otherwise, I would have surely killed you! Filthy and shameless dwarf thief!"
Suddenly, a Flying Boat appeared in the sky, the flag of the Orean Independent Kingdom emblazoned upon it. A voice, magnified by magic, spread throughout the area:
"This is the Guard Team of the Orean Independent Kingdom, specially here to invite our esteemed guests from the Bell Federation to the Royal Capital to discuss important matters.
Please do not initiate any attacks! Do not initiate any attacks!"
Kael chuckled to himself; it seemed that the Orean Guard Team was only arriving to wrap things up after the battle had ended.
Luxius snorted as magic radiated from his body. A dozen beams of light scattered around the outskirts of the city, and the mass healing spells that were released took effect. The pain from the fallen, wailing demi-humans gradually subsided, eventually disappearing entirely.
"Let’s go, everyone, we should meet with the Orean Guard Teams... after all, we did come with sincere intentions!"
Upon hearing this, another round of raucous laughter ensued.
The High-level Mages began casting their spells, and the knights and students who had landed were transported back onto the Flying Boat arranged for them by Lord Saka.
Once back aboard the Flying Boat, the atmosphere immediately heated up.
The bond formed through fighting together was different; everyone had seemed somewhat unfamiliar on the Flying Boat before, but now those who had fought in coordination invited each other to the bar for a good drink.
What do you think?
