Chapter 377 - 173: Kael: Every First Time is Sacred (10K, 75/76)_2
And at that moment, Kael lifted his head and looked towards an open space in the center of the city, where a group of half-humans and dwarves were silently waiting below.
Around the perimeter of the central space, numerous merchant caravans had gathered. When they saw the immense flying boat slowly descending, a flicker of astonishment passed through their eyes.
The flying boat was truly enormous; its slow descent from the sky was like a ferry plummeting from the heavens. The merchant caravans around the square became somewhat disturbed, and their horses started to get restlessly agitated.
Once the flying boat had steadied, Luxius turned his head to look at everyone and said, "Gentlemen, disembark!"
Upon Luxius’s command, the boarding ramps of the flying boat slowly approached, and a line of individuals, prepared and ready, descended.
Kael did not follow immediately; his primary purpose for coming was to retrieve an item, and the less attention he attracted, the better.
The first to descend were the knights; a cold light flickered in their eyes as they formed a column and used their gazes to drive back the dwarves who bore obsequious smiles, intending to come forward and greet them.
After the dwarves had scattered, having understood the knights’ message, the mages then leisurely walked down the ladder.
Following the mages’ departure, Kael and the other younger members of their party, along with the accompanying personnel, descended the long staircase.
In their midst, the youths carried large banners representing the different powers of the Bell Federation they hailed from. As the flags unfurled and the line advanced, their grand and majestic presence, along with their unexpectedly uniform strides, drew the attention of the surrounding merchants.
The merchants, not in a hurry to leave, simply stopped in their tracks to watch the scene unfold before them.

After all, such spectacles were seldom seen more than a few times a year.
"What’s going on here?"
"So many banners from different factions, why do I feel like I’ve never seen them within our country?"
"Of course you haven’t, they are from the great powers of the Bell Federation. Interesting, are they here because of the Bartlet Monarch at this particular time?"
"This is getting troublesome, it seems like the situation may be bigger than we imagined."
"Isn’t the most important thing those damn dwarves causing trouble?"
Suddenly a look of confusion appeared in their eyes; among the banners of the great powers, a flag that seemed somewhat out of place emerged.
"Strange, that banner doesn’t seem like a faction’s flag, it looks more like a coat of arms."
"No need to wonder, that is indeed a coat of arms, and at the same time, a faction’s flag... It should belong to a cadet branch of the Duchy of Lionheart, if I’m not mistaken."
"Why would such a person also suddenly come here, aren’t they worried about trouble?"
"You should be asking, if he gets into trouble on this land, how our country would respond to the repercussions from the Duke of Lionheart."
"Ah... you have a point." @@novelbin@@
To Kael’s surprise, it seemed the residents of the Orean Independent Kingdom were already aware of the specific circumstances.
Quickly, the group, with the reception of dwarves and half-humans, boarded the carriages and headed towards the reception hall.
Along the way, the dwarves directed the half-humans to clear the pedestrians, and amidst the complaints of the crowd, the group gradually receded into the distance.
Kael stealthily lifted the window cover to look at the people outside; the majority were half-humans. As they looked towards Kael and his group, some were numb, some indifferent, some curious, and some, in anger, spat on the ground.
"These half-humans are quite interesting indeed!" Kael whispered quietly.
Elanna, who was sitting in the carriage, curiously looked at him and asked, "Interesting?"
"Of course, interesting. I must say the dwarves have done an impressive job training their dogs... Speaking of which, there isn’t any animosity between the Bell Federation and the Orean Independent Kingdom, is there?"
"On the contrary, in earlier years, they had been subjected to massacre by the Sacred Briania for harboring heretics. Look at them now, one would think it was the Bell Federation who slaughtered them back then!"
Lily, after staying silent for a while, sighed and said, "In this country, the dwarves hold true economic hegemony, infiltrating nearly every facet of national welfare.
Even if the half-humans wanted to take action, they would have to consider whether it would affect the overall situation of the country. I’ve read about these things in related texts…
According to those, the dwarves are currently backed by the Sacred Briania in their actions; half-humans dare not act rashly with so many restrictions.
Even the dominant narrative within the whole Orean Independent Kingdom is under the dwarves’ control, so such situations are rather normal.
They... reject the Bell Federation more than we imagined."
"That’s not necessarily the case though," Kael said with a light chuckle. "If you think about it, their dislike for us isn’t without reason."
Confused, Lily then received a prompt from Elanna:
"Lily... is it okay if I call you that?"
Lily nodded, "You can call me however you like, just don’t kick me out of the carriage."
After giving Kael a glance, Elanna understood his intention. Kael took out a map of the lands surrounding the Bell Federation from his space equipment and handed it to her.
What do you think?
