Reincarnated as incubus: I didn't mean to seduce you!

Chapter 407 - 178 God, please forgive me! (10.2K)_2

In such circumstances, it’s quite rare to hear of anyone being discovered by the creatures of historical echo dungeons... unless they’re really asking for trouble.

But something felt off to him now.

The vehicle stopped, and the ground entrance to Wandong City had arrived.

"If you came here just to ask me that, I think there’s no point continuing," Kael said, turning to push open the car door and leave.

"Uryan! You said you—" The goblin in the white coat tried to pull Uryan forcefully, but without success, clearly unaccustomed to the crude ways of Uryan, the de facto ruler of the mixed regiment.

"That’s why I hate working with you goblin scholars, always tiptoeing around that kid, huh?"

Uryan tossed the cigarette butt out the window and, with one hand, pulled out a flattened pack of cigarettes from his pocket, attempting to draw another one.

He knocked on the empty box, his facial muscles twitched, he cursed under his breath and stuck his head out the window, calling back to Kael, who had already turned to leave:

"I know you’re strong now. Even if we were to consider the strongest of our goblin brethren in Wandong City, you’re no longer on the same level as them.

But trust me, don’t go after that guy. You’ve got no chance against the King of Monsters, and even if you did win, it would be pointless. Don’t forget, the most dangerous ones are never those who stand openly against you..."

The West Coast defense has fallen; most of our people are dead. It was the King of Monsters who acted, yet what binds the regiment, preventing us from leaving, is an anointed one of the gods.

We want to leave, but we no longer have a chance. Do you f*cking understand?"

Kael’s footsteps hesitated, then he continued walking.

"Wait!"

Uryan said harshly, "I can guess what you’re thinking. Who here doesn’t want to kill off the Alliance armies? But there’s no chance anymore, do you understand?

Back when they hadn’t yet seen the finality bomb, we blew up along the border and achieved significant results. But soon they sent forth their anointed ones, using divine powers to counter our mainstream weaponry.

Since then, our wish to risk our lives became much harder to fulfill. Find your next read on NovelBin.Côm

You’re strong, but you have limits. Facing the finality bomb, there is no difference between you and me, unless you plan to use yourself as bait like the old "Sea Blades," indiscriminately blasting them all to heaven..."

"Uryan!!" The white-coat goblin’s voice rose, angrily cutting off Uryan.

"Captain Kael, please don’t misunderstand," the white-coat goblin got out of the car, hurried forward, "The Wandong City Research Institute has made some discoveries recently that might turn the tides, but we might need your help to test it."

"Forget it, I’m busy."

Kael lowered his head, after a moment suppressed his emotions, and apologized with a trace of regret, "Sorry, I’m a bit tired today. Just talk to the higher-ups about the ’Sea Snake’ affair."

"No, no, no, I did disturb you, but I still want to tell you—"

"Sorry."

Kael said again, then turned and walked away.

The white-coat stood there, stunned for a while, with a somewhat low spirit.

"Uryan, look what you’ve done!" the white-coat goblin said anxiously to Uryan.

"Hey, what do you know? You think talking to him is going to work? That kid is a professional before he’s a soldier..."

Uryan chuckled nonchalantly,

Guys like them aren’t easily swayed by mere words. Either you get a direct order from the superiors or let him make the choice himself.

Thinking you could change his mind with slick words? What a joke.

Uryan was well aware of the detrimental effects of smoking and drinking on a professional’s performance, yet he still chose to indulge.

For someone like Kael, who neither smokes, nor drinks, nor indulges in the company of women, nor is seduced by power, his mental fortitude was likely even more steadfast.

"Obviously, he doesn’t want to have anything to do with us. If he doesn’t agree, our last chance will be gone as well!" The white-coat goblin sounded distressed.

Uryan took a deep breath and suddenly exploded with a punch that slammed into the white-coat goblin’s face, knocking him to the ground, his Martin boots stepping beside the goblin’s face:

"F*ck your chances. If I were in charge of the Rangers, the moment I received your command to cover your retreat, I’d have killed you, the one giving orders, first."

Uryan was raging like a lion. @@novelbin@@

He used to be an advocate of the ideology that "for the sake of victory in war, some sacrifices are always necessary," at least before this battle.

But now he realized he was completely wrong!

If wars between nations are the continuation of politics, then the war against the followers of the gods is about seeking a chance to survive.

The purpose of war is survival, yet on the day the West Coast defenses suffered a total collapse, when faced with the anointed one within the monster horde who looked at him with cold eyes, he suddenly felt all battles were unimportant.

He now only wanted to preserve the lives of his surviving brethren. As for the war against the lambs of the gods?

As long as that creature (the anointed one) exists, it would be nothing but a one-sided slaughter!

"Cough cough~ Getting emotional isn’t something we strategists at the core of operations should have." The white-coat spit out blood and a tooth mixed with saliva onto the ground.
